I was out for a walk this morning...some of you know I am staying in Mexico (alone, now). I realized that 12 years ago, Jupiter was almost at the same degree as it is in Pisces now. And then, too, I was traveling all alone!!

1998 was the last time I was TRULY alone. No phone, no friends, no common language...the difference now is the Internet...back then I was just alone.

I also realized that Jupiter was/is sextile my Cap Moon in 1st. I feel like I really needed this--and I wonder where I'll be in 2022 (!)

Where were you 12 years ago??

Anyone else watch Caprica? It's actually named after the sign Capricorn! I was surprised to learn that there are 12 planets in the Caprica solar system, and they're all named after signs of the zodiac!

The different planets (that form the Twelve Colonies) are named after the zodiac signs. Caprica would be Capricorn; the Tauron would be Taurus; Gemenon would be Gemini; and so on. Although not mentioned, the other colonies are Aerilon, Aquaria, Canceron, Leonis, Libran, Picon, Sagittaron, Scorpia, and Virgon.

http://www.tv.com/caprica/pilot/episode/909598/trivia.html

I would love to live on my home planet of Virgon. I bet the trains run on time on the whole damn planet!!

Let's suppose that almost everyone that lived on a planet had the characteristics of its sign. Which planet would you want to live on and why?

Thinking this because of older parents/baby ticking clock thread.

My parents were 37 and 51 when I was born. In all honesty, I LOVE them but I absolutely hated having older parents.

When I was a teenager, my mother was going through mental menopause and my father was very keen on talking about "When I was Your Age!"

...I'd be like, "Dude, that was in during WWII." Seriously, WWII! He's from the UK.(I'm in my early 30s now)

I have 1st Capricorn Moon/Pluto in my 10th. Old and dead relatives are the majority of what I've got, ha ha ha

What about you?

How old were yours?

What's going on with your Moon?

Jilly mentioned she was under a Uranus transit in another thread. She said she couldn't sleep and I can relate. I go to sleep just fine but wake up one way or the other.

If it's not a phone call, it's a dream or a geriatic dog that needs to go outside. One way or the other I am disrupted and can't believe Uranus will be at this same degree (26 Pisces) for another month. But check this insanity:

Uranus stations at this degree again at then end of 2010!

That is a long time to have your Moon kicked up and it hits the soldier's chart hard too. I don't know what the hell.

As impossible as this may sound, we actually have to be careful we don't wind up separated. Tooo much!

I have been on a strict diet (supervised by a nutritionist) for a while now... and just officially weighed in at 25 pounds down!

It's very exciting, as I'd really like to get back to my weight on the day of my wedding. I'm getting close, and it's very exciting.

But what's sad is that I want to celebrate my weight loss... by going out to a big dinner!

Maybe it's my Taurus moon... but how exactly is one supposed to celebrate weight loss if not having a wonderful meal?!!!

i've noticed an interesting dynamic with my saturn/moon conjunct in cancer kid...

he will try to tell me what to do. he has some weird idea like he has authority over me? his sense of proper behavior extends to me.... and, well, his conceptual grasp of such things is limited enough that i hear him give me ridiculous orders from time to time.....

which has forced me to become far far more authoritarian than i am comfortable with towards him. (i have uranus square saturn.) since he needs to recognize who the authority is in our relationship while he's a child. more to the point... a child is not in a position to give their parents orders.

does anyone else with (or who were) children with saturn/moon experience the child trying to exert authority over the mother?

i'm curious.

thanks!

chrispito on "What does Patriotism mean to you? Pluto in Capricorn"

Thinking about this today

it's the Canada/US Olympic gold medal hockey match...between periods of course. It makes me think of patriotism. I have never felt %100 patriotic, which I have always attributed to having a parent who is a landed immigrant and not being close to any family in this country. I HAVE however, felt devotion to my paternal side of the family.

Here's the etymology and definition of the word from Merriam's online dictionary: (I must confess my bias as a Cap Moon is to etymology):

Etymology: Middle French patriote compatriot, from Late Latin patriota, from Greek patriōtēs, from patria lineage, from patr-, patēr father

definition: one who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests

So...am I patriotic after all? I am grateful to be born where I am and when I was; I am proud when I think of my family members who served my country and that of my father, but I always feel kind of gross about patriotism. I'm not proud of my government and I am not proud of the history of abuse against aboriginal peoples and the residential school system in particular

Anyway it's time to head back to the 2nd period to cheer Canada on

Over and out, Capricorn Moon square 10th House Pluto (a.k.a who's your Daddy)

And if you're up for it, I'd love to hear the story of how you first came to love and embrace astrology!
