Ive always thought of the houses as settings and the planets as actors. The houses where your natal planets are are like the regular scenes in a daily soap. Sometimes a major event will occur in a different location, but most episodes happen in the handful of prebuilt sets.

Not having planets in the sevnth doesnt mean you won't partner, you have venus shopping for you all the time, it means more like your life wont be filled with 7th house props, like white dresses, flowers, art, debate podiums, pastels colors, crisp linens, cheese trays, things like that.

I tend to agree with the "area of life comes naturally to you" or "is something you just don't think about" theories.

I have a lot of empty houses, because 9/10 of my chart is bundled in the 5th, 6th, and 7th houses. I have one 1st house planet. It's no surprise that most of my life issues came from these 4 houses or transits to planets in those houses.

Let me tell you, focusing on troo luv and romance all the time is exhausting. Half of my chart is in those love and marriage houses (Sun, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune). When I was young, I was so focused on this, that I let other areas of my life go. So having those houses empty doesn't mean anything! It means you'll have an easier time attracting people.

Moonpluto....one of my very good friends has an empty 7th house and it is in Gemini, but she has been married 4 times!!!! and she attracts men like nobody's business! And, interestingly enough, she is alot like Lindsey described, happy to move on and spend time alone of a SHORT period though and eager for the next adventure!!

Funny, huh?

I, on the other hand have Pisces/Aqua on my seventh house....Venus in Pisces and have difficult or strange relationships....I want close time, but then I need alone time....very frustrating!

We live and put more energy for our full houses!

I think the empty houses come natural to us! They dont hold challenges !

Empty angular houses : Difficulty in starting things and stay in the here and now!

Empty succident houses: Becomes more difficult to stay for a long term goals and resaults

Empty Cadent houses: No sense of a background! Always starting over again

moonpluto, that's a pretty romantic position for your 7th house, so maybe that explains it! & i have pluto in my first house. venus in my 5th. why do you ask?

lindsey - hi! We had a troll a few days ago, posting nasty stuff with your name. Poor Pisces, I don't believe the things that happen to you around here.

Thanks for sharing that Lindsey--

Yeah, I'm a little cynical about that "cheerfully" bit as well--

I am beginning to think our packed houses define us and our empty houses are questions, can't pin them down...

moonpluto, i'm visiting family right now and i was just poking through an astro book this morning (The Elements of Astrology by Janis Huntley - 1990) and reading about empty houses. Her take on it is that we 'readily accept and can operate in ease' in unoccupied houses...and she gives example of 7th house by saying "somebody with no planets in the 7th house will marry, sometimes several times, but cheerfully accept independence and/or a lack of partnerships."

...hmmmm.....cheerfully?!! ;-) i like the idea, but just now thinking through if this makes sense for me (empty 1, 3, 7 or 8 depending on system, and 9th house)

Oh, and another thing she mentions....she says it is important to note the ruler of the empty house and note where that planet is....for example an empty 4th house with Taurus on the cusp and then Venus in the 9th could mean that the person might not need the security of a home base although perhaps will secure a home in a foreign land....

Again, one astrologer's view on it.
