Yeah, kashmiri, I agree, Sags and bicycles go together like peanut butter and jelly. It's just that I've been waiting for this day for weeks. I was so busy I couldn't exercise and when I did it today, riding my bike felt reacheable.

Thank you Shannon and kashmiri!

Astrologically, it's probaby that Pluto is reaching 1 degree tomorrow. Maybe that's why i felt a paradigm shift?

Walking is great. But Rollerblading and Bellydancing is way better. :)

:) Yeah I think walking is still probably as beneficial and less risky. I hate when my body says fuck you. Not much use starting an argument with your own body.

When I run my body says very clearly, "fuck you". Even running downhill gets a protest.

I just saw this article on running and knee health that I thought you all might find interesting. I've been off my game lately as I've been feeling really shitty but hope to resume my regular walks. Maybe I'll take the kids on the short walk tonight. Back to school and whatever is going on with my body has me all screwed up. This article is encouraging though and I'd love to feel well enough to walk more and maybe even run a little.

How are the rest of you? I know Elsa is still walking.

Korellyn, one of the things I've discovered is that when I'm walking I have shin pain around the 1 mile mark. If I keep walking it disappears and by the time I reach 3 miles or so I'm feeling much better than I was before I started. If I hadn't pushed past the painful point of the walk I wouldn't know that. I am so sorry to hear about your chronic pain issues. It's so discouraging to deal with and I hope you get some relief.

The last few nights I've had more generalized pain including my arms and hips but I think that's just a cycle of joint pain I experience sometimes and is unrelated to walking. It's frustrating but I wonder if it would be worse if I weren't walking.

A friend on facebook just posted this link Couch to 5k. Lorielle mentioned it. I'm saving it to look at later. I think walking is much better for me at this stage but it's cool to see how people are changing their lives through slow and steady determination.

Man, I am jealous. I can walk for about 10 minutes before pain flares up in my shins & ankles and I need to sit. Ugh. Old injury and lots of internalized tension just starting to get worked out thru yoga and physiotherapy... I hurt a lot these days. Pluto's just entering my 6th house, so it all fits. I'm just at the start of such a long painful road. Le sigh.

</close pity party>
