I'm listening to a podcast I like and this episode is on 1848:

"Melvyn Bragg and his guests discuss 1848, the year that saw Europe engulfed in revolution. Across the continent, from Paris to Palermo, liberals rose against conservative governments. The first stirrings of rebellion came in January, in Sicily; in February the French monarchy fell; and within a few months Germany, Austria, Hungary and Italy had all been overtaken by revolutionary fervour. Only a few countries were spared. With Tim Blanning, Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Cambridge; Lucy Riall, Professor of History at Birkbeck, University of London; and Mike Rapport, Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Stirling."

Instead of Aries Uranus sq Pluto as we have now, in 1848 there was an Aries Uranus Pluto conjunction.

Elsa already mentioned the Neptune Pisces of 1848 and Marx

As an aside, the Pre-Raphaelites were founded that year (in art) and the Washington Monument construction began.

That's a great podcast resource. I'll be baking this Saturday and I was looking for something interesting to listen to while I make cookies. Thanks for the link, Jilly.

Another friend's mother died and I'm baking for her. I know six people who have lost their mother over the past few months. That's some sky we have !

I've got one 'go to' recipe that I rely on - Martha Stewart's Lemon Biscotti w/Cranberries and Pecans. I need more recipes :) Biscotti is great but, you know, it's not chocolate. I tried her Chocolate Biscotti but although tasty they disintegrated when sliced. Do you like biscotti?

Hi CArRiE YES! I have mars in Cancer haha

I see that in 1850-1851 it was the last time that Saturn-Uranus-Pluto were in the same sign.

But I'm more interested in 1848 right now.
