Sometimes I get flashes or feelings about my future. Once in a while it is visual, but this is rare.

I had an image of my current roommate and I living together... before we moved into this place. And the angle of the kitchen was accurate. I mean, my vision was of me standing at the sink and her coming through the door... and I realized later that it matched up with where we are now. 

Sometimes it's just a feeling. I have a feeling that my art (my writing) will have a good year this year, almost like a taste I can taste; it's tangible. It's been a good summer but I feel like something larger/different is going to happen in late 2010/2011.  No pictures, no visions, just a feeling--

This stuff first increased for me, when I started studying astrology and looking at charts and then increased more when I worked with Tarot - it kind of spooked me when I did a reading for my sister's cats (one of them was having a problem) and I knew shit... that I had no way to know, and honestly I felt a little uncomfortable with it. Maybe because it seemed like I couldn't control the flow at all. 

Anyway, I'm rambling because it's been a very difficult week and despite the difficulty, I am getting some feelings about the future...

I'm sure I've asked this kind of question on the boards before, but it's on my mind again.

Do you get flashes of insight about your own life?  Is it visual or how does it show up?

Only once, and it was weird and pretty much not useful.  I had a dream about a scene in a place I'd never been about a dinner I didn't know I was coming ... a few weeks before it happened.  I mean, conversation and clothing verbatim.

Of course, I was 11 - what the heck did I know about what to do with that?  I think it was more of a clue that stuff was coming and I should know - that one being about me and being so detailed, I think it just let me know it was real.

moonpluto, great topic. I would say I do and I have never said that before and I'll tell you why. 

My sister is most definitely psychic, she has told me some amazing things over the years. She is psychic, I am the astrologer - this is where the lines have always been drawn. Further, I am the little sister so I stay off her turf.

But really, she does do something I can't do. She does access something foreign to me however I am virtually never taken by surprise. Whether it is instinct, intelligence or discernment or something else, I always seem to know ahead and usually years ahead. Not 20 years but 5 or so anyway, sometimes more.

The information comes in a variety way but mostly I get wind of something and and just KNOW. If pressed I would chock this up to Jupiter in aspect to Uranus in my chart because it's like a flash... which I then check.

As an example, I walked away from my childhood home when I was 15 years old, wearing a sundress and a pair of rubber sandals that cost 33 cents (3 for $1). I did not have a dime... or a purse for that matter. I left on impulse too. No planning, not a stitch.

I literally wanted to go and 3 minutes later I left and I KNEW I would make it. I mean I had a back up plan (die) but I really knew I would be able to pull it off and I did.

I don't know if that is "psychic" but I do know things like this are routine in my life.

And I do have odd dreams of people before they die. Not always of course, but a couple months before my mother died (or maybe it was longer than a few months) I had a dream of her and my father at a party--

This Jupiter/Uranus thing really fascinates me these days. I think I have Jupiter/Uranus envy. My Uranus stands alone in my chart-- You know what someone said to me a couple weeks ago? He said Jupiter-Uranus is MAGIC.

Elsa that is really remarkable.  In my early years, when I SHOULD have left my home, I did not/could not. I did run away to the laundry room once though, down the hall.

My brother calls them "Checkpoints". Meaning..... (as explained to him by a group of REAL psychics) small glimps of a future event , which when you get to it , you instantly recognise it (kinda like desevu) and know this is where you are ment to be. What keeps you from seeing your "future"??  Well he said these psychics (the afore mentioned group) said you're prevented from knowing your own future , 'cause (obviously) if you did you would try to change it. I say that would fall under the heading : "Laws of Unintended Consequences".

Anyway , moonpluto , you're not going crazy. I would have years ago..... but here I am. I'd say with THIS crowd / Blog..... you're in good company. Just be your sweet (ok.... maybe grumpy) loveable self that we know and enjoy reading your posts.

My sister calls it, "Pull a coup." She told her husband once, "Elsa know how to pull a coup. She knows when to do and how to do it - the bitch in unstoppable when she does that shit - no one can figure it out but her. Only stupid motherfuckers bet against my sister, I'll tell you that..." (reference to card playing when I was a kid)

This is back when, Annalisa used to swear worse than me. She has become abnormal (for us) since. She doesn't swear at all and I miss it.

Anyway, I do know stuff and I know it all the time but I don't know how. God or astrology or just it might be I am just super, duper honed when it comes to survival.

I hope the dream I had of my guy was prophetic.  I was so happy.  I cried when I woke up.

You know what, I remember a few now.  Usually filled with really mundane details, but I remember the details.  And sometimes a voice over will tell me to pay attention, one time it was supposed to remember a ring. 

In one dream I saw a walking stick.  I was really excited because to see one is rare.  I was woke up by a thunderstorm. I remembered I had left my windows down, so I ran outside to roll them up.  Guess what was on my windshield?  A stickbug. 

I like that Elsa mentions the survival angle. I think the stuff I get is more like.... information, glimpses -- 

And I often wonder why we can't see our futures totally.  I mean, I do think it is there, it is "written" and there's fog in the way, a barrier of some kind. Removing the barrier is kinda scary but I think that .... maybe.... it can be done to some extent... not that that is my focus. I often just want to know that everything will be okay.

The Kabbalists believed that God's light was too bright for man to see so God contracted and that's what we feel, this contraction of light.   I think how we see our future is a contraction in that way.  Wow (i'm surprised by the double meaning all of a sudden).  Contraction.  Leads to birth! Do we birth our futures?  Or do our futures birth us? 

I don't get images of the future, but when I was younger I used to be able to sort of 'look ahead' or maybe more accurately 'feel' ahead as to whether something was going to happen or not.  I think maybe I'm sensitive to things, and no I don't just mean food, lol. 

There was this one time when I was younger that I had this huge crush on this guy--we used to always catch the bus at the same spot.  This one day, for some reason I was on the bus ahead of our stop.  I got this really strong feeling of him, so I looked out the window and he was standing there.  Kinda blew myself away actually.

It's harder to do this stuff nowadays with my concentration so divided on other stuff, but I think it's still there.

The clear-like-you're-seeing-it-in-person visuals are very rare for me, but I've had a few. I saw my daughter as a baby a year or two before I got pregnant. It stuck with me because it was so clear. Sometimes I get mental images, sometimes I just know things. And working with Astrology, Tarot, meditating, etc. regularly turns it up.

I only have slices of deja vu, and never know about it 'til it's actually happening... 

Yes, meditation turns it up muchly.

I have had many deja vu things and similar events. There was a one week period in my late 20s when I kept seeing flashes. First my friend was trying to remember a number and I saw a pic of it in my head but I didn't say anything cause I thought I would screw up her remembering it,lol. Second I was going to the gym with a friend and she ran into a Quick Stop for a bottle of water and came out and said," You will never believe what they have in their." and I said "hangover medicine" She freaked but I saw the cover of the packet in my head. The third thing that sent me over was a dream I had where I was writing a name on some paper and then later in the day at work a customer forgot her Nordy card so I called customer service to get the card and was writing her name down and it was the name from the dream!!

Oh and around the same time I would have dreams of people and see them the next day. The latest thing was in 07 I was with my daughter walking through a theater parking lot to our car and I saw a reflection of a little blond haired boy smiling and I thought where are his parents. I searched the parking lot and there wasn't any other people there. I remember thinking is this my future child. A year later I had a blond haired boy,lol. My hair is dark so ya know,lol. Weird stuff and I am sure there is many more that I can't remember

Oh, I dunno MP.  I can't remember anything significant save my sister being born, and I don't think I was tracking then.

Also - My Mother The Saint is a Pisces, so stuff like that wasn't so uncommon in my house.  I just thought "Oh, I've got the same dream thing that mom does" - but I don't think I told her for a long time.  Like, well into my 20's.

I spent a good chunk of my 20's trying not to be what I am.  Clearly, and thankfully, it didn't work.

Do we birth our futures?  Or do our futures birth us?

I think it works both ways. We achieve things by the thoughts and feelings we project, and by setting goals in our lives (birthing our futures). But some things in life are just destiny. We encounter or awaken to what was there all along (our future has birthed us - or perhaps rebirthed is a better term). I do believe that we can feel 'disturbances in the field' up ahead. These 'disturbances' can be either difficult events to contend with, or wonderful events to enjoy in our lives.

I used to have feelings about things. I think synchronicities are really useful little hints. For months before I finally decided to move to Boston, all I would see around me were little signs that flat out said, "Boston". I don't know if stuff like that is really a sign or if it's just my own unconscious being extra sensitive to all things Boston.

I've been pretty closed off to the stuff for quite awhile now, but I don't think it's something you can lose, more like the window is only open a crack or almost shut, it just needs a little nudge to let the air come through again.

I like your story Alicia. That sounds a bit the way mine works. I was writing on another post (the omens/found objects thread) that I want to start paying more attention again. Or maybe I was just thinking it and not writing it -- but noticing these things again because I think if one gets quiet then the "signs" are all around.  Fear/anxiety though is a barrier to clear reception. Yeah, that's a common metaphor that rings true for me -- like radio transmission. Tuning in to the station (to the station of your life!). I suppose in the digital age, we need new metaphors. 

I'm a Pisces. I know things I disregard because they don't agree with my FEELINGS on the matter and then when it blows up in my face I go: "I knew that was going to happen. I had a feeling".  Yeah. I'm really good at bending the light.

I knew in high school that something bad was going to happen to my dad when he turned 50. I didn't know what, mind you, and my guess was wrong, but I knew bad was lurking for four years before it happened.

I always know who I am going to get involved with. I know within 24 hours of the romantic involvement happening. The first time I had the "ping" was with a guy I didn't date for 3 years later, forgot all about it (he was making out with his girlfriend the first time I saw him...yeah, got over that fast), but right before the first date... you get the drift. 

And...well, in 2008 I had a prediction that I will move to LA in 2013. Why? Beats me. Okay, I know but I don't know...let's just say how it comes about is a giant "beats me." I have had it indicated to me that "things start changing" in 2011 and the solar return chart looks terrifying, so it's probably right. And what comes after that...well, holy cow. I'm still kind of in shock about that. Especially since I recently got a DATE for that happening...

Like Alicia, I've experienced a lot of signs/synchronicities pointing me towards a certain direction.  I also experience deja vu frequently... ever since I was a kid I can remember the vivid feeling that I had seen a particular scene before.

Yes. I get different kinds of stuff, dreams, feelings about outcomes, dead on fortune cookies. Words running through my head ("he's going to ask you to go for a ride on his plane" guy then turns around and asks...). 1st house Sag Moon aspect Uranus in the 9th house, chart ruler Jupiter in the 3rd aspect Neptune in the 12th.

Yes.  But sometimes it combines with my negativity so I don't know which end of my ass is up.  I have Jupiter square Uranus.  What makes you have these flashes, astrologically, moonpluto?

I often think about something and then, BANG, there it is, or someone says what I just thought. I've been doing it since I can remember.

I "see" death on people. That has happened about ten times in my life. The last time it happened was on my own son. He and I are now estranged and he's not doing well. I expect I'll be getting a phone call regarding him any day now...

Sorry to sound so morbid, but that's how I have lived all my life. Picking up some wild radio staions from the Great Beyond... As Harry Chapin sang, "...I am the morning DJ..." Hahaha! It's almost as if I am eavedropping and can't make it stop at times... Freaky shit, maaan...

I have prophetic dreams, but it's usually mundane shit.  They're normally a warning to avoid / end a fight.
