Astro Watch for Horary?

In Karen Hamaker-Zondag's book "Handbook of Horary Astrology", she mentions having a wristwatch that shows the astrological degree rising on the horizon at any given time.

I have been looking for such a thing ever since I read that book - oh for maybe 20 years now! I've looked online, I've asked watch makers. Nothin. She is from Europe, so maybe could be found there.

Since the degree changes about ever four minutes it might not be that difficult to make a mechanism that would do that, and just calibrate it daily or something.

Has anyone EVER heard of such? If so post & I'd be eternally grateful! In my searches, I did find a cool free download for an Astro-Clock for the computer though:

Is it something like ebay item 110409440625?  Sorry I'm not astrologically savy enough to know if this is what you were describing.

Wow that is some watch! A good try and thank you but I don't understand what that one is doing either and don't think it is the same thing. And at 25K it is so not in my budget!

Basically it is a watch that shows the ascendant if you were to cast a chart at any given moment. So, say like right now at my location at 3:07 pm there is 6 degrees of pisces rising.

I suppose I could get a fancy-ass phone like an i-phone and load software into it. I just have been in love with the old school simplicity of a watch that would do it. I don't wear a watch cause I don't give a damn what time it is usually - but the rising is supposed to be very interesting if you watch what happens at the time of a sign change.

Would a mariner's watch do that?

I think to navigate (pre GPS) you calculated points in the sky as they moved in relation to the horizon but I'm not sure.

    Great idea Jilly.

Your post made me think of the Farmer's Almanac and wonder if they had ever put out a watch that did such as well.  Still don't know the answer to that, but while there found this interesting info about wet/dry moons!  Who knew???

Mariner's watch... hmm I will check that lead out!

I don't know about wet moons but it seems like here in the Northeast we have not had 24 hours of dry weather in a row for over a month.

Ahh the internet...Mariner's watch is aparently the name of an apartment complex and mariner's wristwatch gives lots of links to a watch emblazoned with the sports logo of the Seattle Mariners! Will keep searching though...

Dreams that surely is getting closer...if only I were geekier and carried an almanac around, perhaps I could figure it out with that, lol!

Maybe it would be easier to find Ms. Zondag online and ask her...she was the one who mentioned the thing that has been driving me crazy ever since!

Have you consulted a watch maker?

Yes I actually did - they thought I was insane! (And maybe I am!)

I just found Karen Hamaker-Zondag's website - all in Dutch or something like that - and sent her an email. ;-)
