you are not a dick, satori.<<-- i just felt driven to verbalize that. i'd be hard-pressed to find folks less dick-like.
this is the way of the world with free online services. people often end up not paying unless they are feeling some pain without paying. this has become very clear to me with the sites i run.
ah, thanks goddess, :), I think an can surely ACT like a dick but hopefully it's not that I AM one.
well that leo rising gives us wonderful dramatic skills. that's it! that's my story and i'm sticking to it...
well I'm adopting your story and sticking to it as well!
I went through the same reluctance to re-up for financial reasons in early October but have managed to hold out from sheer necessity. You're right, though, that spending the dough (once I have it) is a way to support their service in general. I feel the same about serennu's site http://serennu.com/ -- the transit tracker feature there is worth money to me... I just have to cough it up, eventually. Frankly, both sites could show me more ads and I'd be fine with it.
Friggin astro.com has turned me into their crack whore.
even when they are showing more ads, the revenue from the ads is dependent on a number of factors, including the economy in general. ad-supported content is not as easy as it used to be.
I make about $5-6 a day on the ads on both this site and astro dispatch put together. That's less than $50 a week, I don't think a person can live on that. ;-)
I found a copy of Robert Hand's Planets in Transit in a bookstore...he writes a lot of the stuff anyway so now I just look up my transit there.
But...I don't pay and still get the daily horoscope. What is it you get when you pay?
god that must make me sound like a complete twit. i don't wish to imply that i don't want to pay for content. + as a rule, i don't have a problem with ads.
kash, you can read all the transits instead of the "featured" one, among other things. (i'm not a paying subscriber there, either.)
and i don't think you sound like a twit, either.
thanks goddess--pluto trine my mercury/chiron right now. i feel like everything i try to express comes out wrong. and being sagittarius asc i just keep plowing along anyway. all i can do is be grateful that the people who love me will still love me even though my 'truths' are resolutely ugly at the moment
well, kash, your kindness, thoughtfulness, and loving spirit has been demonstrated through so many comments here already - it would be inordinately difficult for you to sound like a twit at this point. you've already quite thoroughly proven yourself otherwise, m'dear.
(((you)))thanks for cheering me up
I know how you feel. I didn't renew my Caroline Myss podcast subscription. I spent the money on a Elsa consultation instead.

I use their daily subscription service which has a listing of each day's transits (and explanations) for any chart in your list. it comes up for renewal every year on the first of november and usually I re-up early. this year I figured I should probably not spend the money on myself, not for something I can actually do for myself now.
seven days. I made it SEVEN DAYS before I was jonesin' so bad I re-ordered. :D
then I realized, holy moley, astro dot com provides me with AAAALLL this free stuff I use ALL THE TIME and I'm not paying the lousy 37 bucks?? I'm a dick.
whew, all betta now.
