Capric'owned.

Capricorns and Saturn and teeth and bones, you know?
I'm supposed to be getting braces in a few months. The first hiccup was that with my palate being much too narrow for my bottom jaw and some bone loss on my right side (where the mismatch primarily is), I will need to have my palate broken next year (this is the short version of this story, I have a blog that is in my profile if you really want the gory details.)
The second hiccup came after I consulted with my surgeon and he was reviewing the records from my orthodontist. He noticed a shadowy area on my right lower jaw and sent me for another X-Ray, saying it could be a film error or it could be "something else". I'm thinking cavity. Nope. He's thinking a cyst or tumor on my jaw.
I had my X-Ray redone and got the news yesterday that it wasn't a film error. There's "something" growing on my bottom jaw. My last X-Ray before this one was in October, and this popped up some time between mid October and mid January. It's about the size of the dime and I have no pain associated with it.
I have no real reason to post this, other than to say WTF SATURN! The "whateverthefuckitis" will most likely be removed and biopsied, my surgeon and dentist haven't fully formulated the action plan yet. I will also have a surgery to remove a tooth before the braces go on. And then I get another surgery where my upper jaw is split in two or three pieces next year.
I say again, WTF SATURN. Not funny.
I know of a Capricorn who is needing to get braces.
Nobody I speak to, just seen a facebook status from him saying "So guys, I need braces"...
Without placing it down to anything like a connection-making-slut, but maybe it's Pluto in Capricorn? ![]()
I know a cap who had his collerbone broken.. just before training to go to afghanistan. He managed to still convince them to send him as he's more an IT/Admin role.. but he'll have to have the bone rebroken and reset when he's back because it wasn't healing into proper position. And he'll do it too. Plus his knees are acting up. He's a bit old to have joined as regular forces but determined. He was kicked out when young due to bad eyesight. He's since had that corrected.
My brother had his collarbone broaken and didn't have it fixed properly so now lives with discomfort and a pain that surfaces occassionally. It never healed properly.

Where is the dark spot on the Xray? I have nerve issues and recently had my jaw Xrayed again--I too have dark spots on my jaw Xrays, on my lower jaw, just below my R and L canine teeth. My dentist has told me these spots are where the nerve connects to the jaw (what he said are referred to as the #14 nerve entry points, specifically). Because they are chronically inflammed the spot shows up. He, too, is monitoring that area of my mouth and has been since 2005, for tumors. Here's hoping you are tumor free.

A close friend of mine is going thru similar jaw issues to what you described, but his cyst was removed as a child, and now his jaw is giving him trouble as an adult.
He had has two dental procedures already, and has impacted wisdom teeth causing stress to the others as well. He also has Pisces Moon. But everything is getting much better with time and work (Saturn?), and I'm happy seeing his life improve.
@Shannon- I am having Le Fort I Osteomy, either a two or three piece. Is that what you had? I'd love to pick your brain :)
@Kashmiri- Almost the same spot as yours, I think! I don't have any pain, infection, or inflammation. I've never had an injury to this part of my mouth, and definitely not since October when my last X-Ray was. There's just this mystery spot on my jaw.

Having jaw/bone issues is distressing enough for anybody, but you guys. Come on. I'm a double Capricorn. I have Venus in the TENTH house. WTF SATURN.
Ugh, you poor thing. I feel for you! My Cap feels for you...
I missed my last dental appt, back in October - a glorious sunny day and I took the dog to the beach on an impulse, forgot all about it :( Better rectify...
You better get there STAT BP!
My teeth are as healthy as can be (ignore that root canal on the X-Ray), but my jaws are all jacked up.
I figure that after I get this jaw mess figured out, my knees will decide to go. That's what I get for being a cranky old goat.
And I always thought I had bad teeth.... ugh, sorry to say this but none of it sounds nice. So sorry you have to go through all those procedures! Hoping The Bubble will be just a cyst!
I know, Jocelyn, it's strange. LOL. I was last at the dentist on the 26th of January, I think. He also told me that my lower jaw is thicker in diametre than most people--hello, Taurus! I had braces during my SR. I still have baby teeth, too--4 of my teeth will never be anything but wee little babies:)
I met with my surgeon yesterday and I'm having surgery to remove this mofo on Thursday morning. He's going to remove it, send it off for a biopsy, and I should have results about a week later. He said that when he opens it up he should have some clues as to what it is based on what is inside of it (his words: if it looks like cottage cheese) but we won't know for sure until the biopsy is completed. He's not thinking anything malignant or aggressive at this point.
I was thinking all along this thing was kind of on the surface, right under the gums, but he said it's actually in my bone so he'll be cutting the jaw bone open and there will be an empty pocket where the thing was, which my body will then regenerate and fill.
If there's anything a Capricorn is good at, it's growing bones. So I'm thinking it's all going to be A-OK.
My Cappy older sister had to wear braces for almost a decade, and she hated it lol
Me however, I have Cap ASC and a stellium in the 1st house, but oddly enough I've never had any problems with my teeth and never had to go under the knife except for the usual fillings and wisdom teeth removal. Never broken any bones so far yet, and I'm a really clumsy Leo :)
however I'm feeling it in my knees.. dull pains every now and then, ugh!
Rooting for ya Jocelyn (hor hor, geddit?)
Sounds painful. Hope it proves to be something very trivial
Had my surgery yesterday morning. I asked the surgeon to see the growth afterwards and it looked like an alien implant. It was not a fluid filled sac, as we thought. And likely, not a cyst at all. The surgeon had never seen anything like it before. My question to him was, "it's a parasitic twin, isn't it?" He laughed, but he never said no so... you know, it could happen. I asked for pics of the growth, but they didn't take them (probably because it's an alien implant)
I won't hear from the lab for about a week or two but when he played with it a little bit post surgery he said it looked like - get ready to be ultimate Capricowned - IMMATURE BONE TISSUE. My best friend responds, "you would have immature bone tissue." As in, he thinks something happened in my jaw, and my bone tried to repair itself but didn't quite make it. We won't really know what it is for a while, though.
I feel OK, I'm in pain and the swelling started this morning. I had a milkshake for dinner yesterday and held it down.
Oh, and my bleeding won't stop. The nurse told me to put moistened black teabags on the wound to help. Teabagging jokes were made all day.

And the swelling is just starting this morning. I should be totally hot and unrecognizable by tonight:

PS- I have a 12H Sun and a Pisces Moon.
Pre surgery the nurse was working with another nurse to set up the tray with stuff on it and they were having trouble finding the drugs. One nurse told the other nurse to just bring the initial drugs and they would get the rest if needed.
I told them no. I need drugs. LOTS OF DRUGS. I woke up toward the end of the procedure (I always do with Twilight Sleep). But she did drug me up fairly well. Thank goodness.
Thanks! I'm doing pretty good, considering. I'm really interested in the whole process and figuring out what this thing is.
I asked if I should take calcium or something to help with healing and the surgeon and my husband kind of laughed at me. I don't know, it seems reasonable to me (?)
Taking calcium (carbonate) is a good idea, anyway, and it should help you heal. Staying away from anything too high in iron is helpful, too, something about iron inhibiting calcium uptake re: bones that need to heal.
I have to admit to getting miffed @ the men laughing at your legitimate question, that kinda tweaked me. >: (
I got back my results today:
Ossifying Fibroma. It's a BENIGN bone tumor (how very Capricorn), with low recurrence rate. So two snaps in a circle for that one! I was cleared to go forward with all of my other jaw surgery.
...Still was kind of hoping for an alien implant or parasitic twin though...
