Aquarius rising. I love fantasy movies and books... I honestly don't have only one favorite, but I absolutely loved "Neverending Story," "Labyrinth," "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe," and "Pan's Labyrinth" to name a few.

Sag rising which makes me jupiter-ruled.LOVE comedy. Two of my faves are The Princess Bride and Seems Like Old Times with Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn. There's Something About Mary had me rolling! Other than that,I honestly like foreign and independent films better than what is offered in mainstream.Strange combination, right? Dunno my man's rising but he loves NEWS and SPORTS and for fun...drumroll...DOCUMENTARIES...lol...anything with conspiracy theory written all over it is sure to grab his interest. Like Zeitgeist...oh and he loves Gladiator with Russell Crowe (sp?). I'm thinking he's Mars/Saturn ruled.

Does anyone know why the ascendant is considered the chart ruler and not the planet most aspected? - Thanks

My ruler-Cancer ASC/Moon in 4th (Pluto and Mars conj IC)

    1. Forever Amber (1943 or 1944) Tragic Love Story

    2. Identity - Psychological suspense thriller

I loved Persepolis and Sita Sings the Blues. I also had a sentimental attachment to A Charlie Brown Christmas and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  I like absurd humor. A romantic screwball comedy set in a trench with some bombs dropping overhead sounds like a perfect movie.

Like Lorielle I'm an aqua rising who loves fantasy...

But rebellion/independence/changes are all highlighted in my faves too:

Stardust, Amelie, Gladiator, Dirty Dancing - I can watch any of these over and over :)

Good one, Stellia. I love Amelie.

I've never seen Stardust, but I love the book (Neil Gaiman is amazing) so I should definitely check it out. :)

Pitch Black, Brave Little Toaster, Land Before Time, Ninja Assassin.  (Saturn on Venus, Neptune-Jupiter-Mars conjunction out of sign)

I also liked Bourne Ultimatum.  My favorite line was at the end:

CIA Goon:  *gun aimed at Bourne*  "Why didn't you take the shot?"

Bourne:  "Do you even know why you're supposed to kill me?"

    CIA Goon:  *clueless pause*

Bourne:  "Look at us.  Look at what they make you give."

CIA Goon:  *long pause, finally lowers gun*

That exchange made the movie for me.  (Saturn mutually receiving Mars)

Chart ruler: Venus in Scorpio, conjunct Dsc, conjunct Uranus, square Saturn.

One of my favorite movies (I have lots of Libra, so it's got to be "one of") is Forbidden Zone, a black-and-white musical about love and lust in the Sixth Dimension (accessed through a basement door which leads to a set of giant intestines). It has topless concubines, a midget king, a bawdy queen, old men humping each other in their underwear, a frog butler, a human chandelier, an electric dildo ... and so much more.

"Meet Joe Black" with Brad Pitt as the Grim Reaper

    "Pulp Fiction" John Travolta

"Face Off" Nicholas Cage/ John Travolta

Capricorn Rising. Saturn conj Jup in the 1st. Big violence which makes sense to the story. And I just like Brad Pitt in that other film. I suppose Saturn/Grim Reaper !

oh, and how could I forget the absolutely ultimate 8 and 1/2  by Fellini, a gemini dream start to finish. That might be my favorite movie ever.

When I was a kid I also loved My Brilliant Career, and austrailian movie about being a writer, natch.

I also must include Blade Runner, Diva, True Romance, Wild at Heart, Red Beard (this shows my venus conjunct saturn), Lost highway, Ghost Dog, The Legdend of Fung Sai Yuk, the Lady from Shanghai, Jou Dou, Fist of Legend, To have and Have Not, and the incomparable Kung Fu Hustle!

Woah! I just looked it up Fellini and David Lynch were both born on the same day! (Not the same year) They are Capricorns...  and both so interested in what is under the surface of conventions... so interesting!

Mercury is my chart ruler (1h Gemini)

    The Matrix

The Big Lebowski (an all time fave that I watch and re-watch repeatedly)

Most of the earlier Mel Brooks:  Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, The Producers

comic book movies like X - Men and the Spiderman trilogy.  Also cheesy action movies, which is often redundant to the comic book movies

Bond movies.  (Ian Fleming shared my birthday, yay)  I am especially fond of Sean Connery and Daniel Craig as Bond, but the movies in the franchise I've seen, I've enjoyed.

And of course, what kind of geek girl would I be if I didn't have

Star Wars Episodes IV - VI (Or, the original trilogy)

Shannon--I liked the original Matrix too.

I also liked the original Star Wars trilogy, as well.  My favorite scene was the cave, ESB.  My second favorite is the final Luke/Vader duel, RotJ.

    Ooh great idea!

I'm a Cap Ascendant with aquarius intercepted in the first. So Saturns the ruler of my chart... but I have a strong Uranus & Neptune as well ( in their own houses )

I love sci-fi... Loooove it. and Movies that take the wind out of me...

My favorite films would be : Contact, Tristan & Isolde, Shakespeare in love.... God im such an incurable romantic... haha. Um but let me continue, The House of Sand & Fog, Elizabeth ( I & the sequel the golden age..  I tend to like period films... like a lot. ) ... Bridge to Terabithia ( Highly recommended! it sounds like a kids film but its not. It made me cry.. it actually covers really adult issues, based on the book of the same name ... so beautiful.)... District 9 is kind of a favorite. Pan's Labyrinth.... Requiem for a Dream...  Mirrormask ( Neil Gaiman Love anyone?)

K-Pax!!!!!!!! <3 one of the top. I can watch it again and again. Hits me hard each time.

Oh and ive always been curious about the movie the lives of others. The guy looks a lot like Kevin Spacey dont you think? Hah.

Oh! and i should add that my chart ruler ( Saturn ) is conjunct Uranus by 1 degree ( Uranus in 29 deg sag and saturn 0 cap ) in the 11th house... so perhaps... perhaps the energies are like siamese twins as someone once said!

Lorielle-- that's interesting! My cap ascendant is at 28 degrees... so my progressed ascendant is in aquarius and I totally love all of the movies you listed. :) And then some! C.S. Lewis is amazing too... *bookswoon*
