I paid off my daughter's outstanding hospital bills yesterday. All together, it was about $35,000 - this is with insurance paying 85%

Holy crap! That's a boat load Elsa.

I am most certainly "in". Student loans are a bitch and credit cards are the devil.

That sucks.  But I'm glad you we're able to pay them off .

Not in debt...but surely paying the price for it .

Oh well, I have no right to complain.

In, sorta.  I have student loans, but I'm back in college again and don't have to repay them right now, and I still owe $2k for some really awesome cookware I bought with Shithead.  Other than that, I'm free and clear.  Whee!!

My mom always says "If you don't die in debt, you didn't win."

Ha ha ha...I hope shes joking.

I am in debt, but I am still very proud of myself for how I handle my finances. Had HUGE health bills to pay on very limited income. I just wrote a blog about it here: www.xanga.com/ambidee Once my income increases I am pretty confident I will pay off my debts step by step. I feel good about this.

Lots and lots of debt. Three years ago I had no debt (except for student loans) but then i had to move suddenly (just like this summer ugh) and got into debt. I have jupiter in my 2nd house. Does that mean i spend too freely? I usually have not so much and i only get what i need, seriously..... sigh

I worked two jobs for five years to pay off my credit card and student loan debt. I still have a mortgage and a car payment (done soon) I'd be dead in the water right now if I hadn't. I lost my job a year ago and am surviving on unemployment until I can retire  next May. I had no life for five years, but it was the best decision I could have made in retrospect. I haven't charged anything for years - just got out of that habit. If I can't afford it, I don't get it.  I just pray for continued good health.

Congratulations, Elsa. I know that's a great feeling.

Wow Elsa!!! I am in awe....

I myself had been kicking some ass with insurance people and got my credit card debt wiped clean.  Sometimes, I'm very grateful I'm born with a cappy moon.  I believe it has given me the ability to get down and dirty with a lot of crap that I had to deal with, and come out clean! It sure gave me that exta ability to read all the fine prints patiently and cautiously and use it to gain moral leverage to drive my points home.
