Do you believe in miracles?
posted 3 months ago in Lounge
I have been wanting to ask my EE friends this question for a while. Erradin's story on this thread gave me the push I needed:)

I believe in miracles. I always have. Jupiter/Neptune, maybe?
Et toi?
How funny. SaD's answer is mine, too.
Yep. I believe in miracles everyday.
(of course, I also believe in giving them--and luck--a running headstart when possible)

You had to ask! ![]()
I believe in them.
I should have died because of the crazy dangerous stuff I did as a teen and early 20 something. Something intervened and that to me is a miracle, I had a mild death wish during my late teens.
Scorpio little brother once fell out of a swing and broke his forearm. I SAW the bones out of place. But he healed it himself and when we went to show Mom it was only swollen and bruised a few mintues later. His arm worked and the bones were in place, we were probably around 8 and 10yo. Freakin little regenerative Scorpio, I love you!
When I was at the height of despair last november due to my circumstances, I had borrowed a friends car to go visit my cats who are staying in my sisters garage till i find somewhere new to live, and was going to put a few dollars gas in on the way back, but had the strong urge as passing the garage to get it now.
I put the fuel in and stood in long line to pay. Once finished i turned and started heading for the door back to the car when an ordinary everyday man of about 50 stepped out of line walked round and headed me off. Standing in front of me he said
"I'm not sure if this is appropriate, but I am a christian and as you passed by me what I call gods words passed through my mind and he told me to give you this (handing me $50) but its not really about the money, he's asking me to tell you not to give up!"
As you can imagine the tears of relief flowed and I explained to the man how everything had recently been wiped and I had no where to live, staying at generous friends homes one by one and he was floored, saying that he often ignored those "god thoughts"
I thanked him for his courage as Im sure many would have scorned or even abused him for saying what he did, however I was eternally grateful as it was EXACTLY what i needed to hear.
I drove to my sister's with tears streaming, constantly saying thank you out loud.
So yep definitely a miracle and given by an unassuming earth angel ![]()

Well I dont know if your sister knows just how valuable her actions in this way are, but i can tell you from here, it still brings tears to my eyes telling anyone about it and it is what i bring to mind everytime i feel low about my hopefully now changing situation.
Give her a big hug from me
My life was saved by a random stranger named, Jesus. I'm obsessed with miracles!
I didn't believe in miracles until it happened to me. A huge one. I'd settle for a small or medium miracle again right about now!
@abluelily "gods words passed through my mind and he told me to give you this (handing me $50) but its not really about the money, he's asking me to tell you not to give up!""
Aw, this put a smile on my face, I'm really glad you had that experience!
Yes, but it's my intuition than logical in my mind.
Indeed I do... I have been able to 'walk away' from so many harsh experiences, I have been through too much, to not believe. Miracles do happen. My life is proof.
When I get my books published, I'll believe in miracles.
I believe in miracles. If I didn't I would have given up on love a long time ago. Because I get the feeling it will be nothing short of a miracle to get a second chance loving someone that is my match.
I have been told *eye roll* that I am also a miracle, with my rather death defying birth story. Meh, it makes Mom happy to remember those times, so I don't contradict her, or others when they get all cheery about it. ;)
Not entirely - too much Cap! - but I'm willing to be persuaded.
Stories like abluelily's (which made me cry) go some way towards that!
It's the anniversary today of St Bernadette of Lourdes' first vision. From my favourite history magazine:
http://www.historytoday.com/richard-cavendish/saint-bernadette%E2%80%99s-first-vision-lourdes
I went to Lourdes when I was 15 with the French family I was staying with on an exchange - it was pretty amazing I must say, though commercialised even then
I absolutely believe in miracles, my life has been full of them, big and small.![]()
I believe in "amazing events" but not in miracles as such. Because I believe there is an explanation for everything that happens to us, but perhaps we don't know how something occurs. What I mean is that I do think we have an invisble support net work around us at any time, but we can reach a place eventually where we have understanding of how this operates.
