lol, nope.  I always figured tattooing somebody's name on your body was a surefire way to jinx the relationship.

"Maybe if you have some terminal illness you can do it as a surprise. I'll leave the hospital to go get your cannoli and come back and you'll say, look here, P."

"And it'll be a big ol' P, too. P? Is that, P. for Elsa P, or does that mean, Prisoner of war?"

LMAO - My son has our last name tatooed on his chest (much safer).... I've got a symbolic double heart tatooed on me (of which I know 'who' they represent), but NO NAMES!

- off topic - My other son has his first child's hand print (as a newborn) tatooed on the inside of his upper arm and will do the same for the one that was just born on the other, which I think is totally COOL.

I do, he has her picture too, I believe... Don't knnow how long they've been married but they've been together for 17-18 years and seem to be a pretty happy couple.

Well, as Korellyn said, I think it can act as a jinx but maybe only because people believe the jinx.  My boyfriend has his ex-wife's name prominently tattooed on his arm.  He jokes that I'll know it's over when I see my name on his body.   Gallows humor, I guess.

That said, I think it's terribly romantic.

i think it would be just as easy to get "bad idea" tattooed in big red letters. it's the same thing.

Come to think of it, I do: a guy I used to work with years ago.  Unless he's gotten divorced since then, which is possible.

I have my fiances initials in amongst my mendhi style sleeve  It's tradition in India to have your fiances initials hidden in your wedding henna...

It's small and kinda swirly, so not obvious... and if it goes tits up, i'll get a few more swirls added and it will be gone.  Hopefully that wont ever happen!

Getting tattoos that mark relationships is kinda dodgy.  I had a huge tribal piece done when I left my ex-husband... 9 years on, I've had it added to (my henna stylee one) as it was such an angry and spiky reminder of such a shit time in my life.

I love it again now I've had it changed! Luckily, it was the kind of design that could be changed.

I heard on the radio the other day of people getting bad holiday tattoos, especially in Ibiza etc... Spur of the moment stuff is never good if the results will be regretted forever!

I think it's romantic too, and very in the moment. Might live to regret it later, but the intention was good! I love tattoos, no names on me though.

My husband and I were married on the second blue moon in 1999. It occurred on March 31. I have a blue moon tattooed on my left upper arm/shoulder area... I consider it my wedding ring. I didn't get it until we had been married 4 or 5 years... I love it. It reminds me of the special nature of our marriage... No dates, no names, just the moon looking down on us... His Pisces moon is so tender and lovely and his Crab rising along with my Venus in Pisces makes the moon a symbol we both relate to...
