Boy I hope she rallies. Her stomach has gone wild in both direction for 5 days now and very little appetite. :(

Her eye thing resolved completely - no idea what is going on but it's scaring me.

See the scarring on her hind leg there? Think that's where she was hit by a car. No hair grows and it's all purple and scarred.   See the freaky ears? All her body part move independently.

She is such a nice dog when she is not biting Vid in the ass and I am not sure what I will do without her. I have become used to her following me all day.

I have been painting the house and the damned dog is right under the ladder 2 inches from the paint walking back and forth, up and down the hall when I'm trying to paint because she's blind as hell and doesn't know what's going on.

She's just a charactor is all and you know how precious they are... to me.

The soldier (who can read her) thinks she's got food poisoning so if so she should be pulling out soon.  She's eaten some turkey tonight but she's really not eaten food for 3 days at least. She is skinnier, I can tell and as you know she is already skinny so she can't starve for long.  I also saw her shivering / shaking which I have never seen before and I can hear her stomach from down the hall. I won't even tell you about all the stuff I have cleaned up with no idea which end of the dog it came from.

Last, I have seen her walking all humped but it could be she is trying not to poop on the floor.  She's very dramatic and you just can't tell.

That posture (humped) could be because she's having cramps (the kind you get when you have diahrreah). If she ate anything tonight at all, that sounds like a really good sign.

Yeah, I feel better after talking to the soldier. I have been cleaning up God knows what for 3 days. A lot of it is red and staining and I have thought it was (or might be) blood.  I really don't know but she's hear now and hangin' out but she is still shivering some, it's strange.

Of course if I take her too the doc they will think she's been starved and abused and give her another $1000 worth of tests that make her feel even worse,

She is always so nice to me.  It's like the soldier, he is also ALWAYS nice to me. I told HQ that the other day - that he was never mean no matter how bad things get for him... er.. he never takes it out on anyone and his dog is the same.

3 days is a long time to go thru that. Poor dog :( Hopefully she's drinking a little? Shaking could even be from dehydration/weakness.

    she is drinking...

if it's vomit the red could be stomach junk.  my animals always threw up red/orange.

It must have been hard to watch her go through all of that these last few days.  I hope it clears up soon.  Good to hear that she is at least drinking water.

I don't have a dog, but my sister's dog I know has had what seems to have been stomach viruses, and just when it seemed like she was at the end, she just sort of recovered, kind of like what happens to us when we have viruses.  I sure hope that is what it is - poor baby.

I'm sorry Elsa.  It's so hard to know what to do for them and far too often the vets are unable to help as well.

Sometimes a little canned pumpking (unsweetened) can help stabalize diarrhea in dogs.  It won't hurt anyway if she would eat some.

Tried the pumpkin but she won't eat it. Still not eating her food..

Poor thing. I'm glad she's drinking. That's a good sign. But still scary. It's so upsetting when you're worried about one of your little furry buddies...

my vet recommends cooked brown rice and cottage cheese, apparently the rice is just nice and bland and the cottage cheese helps bind the poo so it's not watery without causing constipation.   Her regular dog food might be just a bit too much for her gi tract right now.

(((((((dora))))))   i'm thinking....keep her warm and i wish you had a nice vet out there who could see her w/out those huge bills.....one of my beloved cats had diabetes but i found out too late to help her...i feel dora will pull through though...if she is drinking excessively and won't stop shaking...i would take her in..she might need insulin..

...was just reading on some natural cure for canine diabetes (hoping dora does not have, but as general helpful info.) ...usually hits female dogs age 7-9...natural cures listed include vinegar (apple cider) a few drops in water...i know apple cider is good for just about everything....also cinammon sprinkled in her food....some other less known herbs listed at site....www.diabetesindogs.net

Yeah that's the down side of the pumpkin.  If they don't have much appetite it's hard to get them to eat it.  Poor Dora.

Try meat flavored baby food. It's gentle on the stomach.

"...I have seen her walking all humped but it could be she is trying not to poop on the floor."

    I can totally relate hahahaha.

    Hope she's feeling better.

Speaking of pet food, the FDA is investigating Nutro brand pet food for making animals sick FYI.

Hope she's on the mend. It's so hard when our babies get sick and since dogs can't tell you anything it's extra hard. ((hugs))

the rice just to get something in her stomach.

it's the cottage cheese that helps with the diarrhea.
