Enquiring Minds...ask for what you need with Mercury in Libra
posted 5 months ago in Astrology Stories
Kash, what a great idea--wish I had that recipe you were looking for, but alas...I'm still a chef in training...:)
I'm looking for advice on job hunting in this economy. Specifically how to tailor a resume/cover letter that looks attractive. I am a people person, much better face to face. I can't get a soul to respond my resume/cover letters I've sent out, and I send at least 2 a week, sometime I send even 10! (been doing this for over a year now) I am also trying to change jobs (I'm in finance and want to work in a more coordinator/writer position).
Kash, try googling "garbanzo penne recipe".
Garbanzo is the Italian name for chick peas.
I did find this suggestion somewhere, although it's not a recipe as such:
"Make a middle Eastern-inspired pasta dish by adding garbanzo beans to penne mixed with olive oil, feta cheese and fresh oregano."
Parmesan-Mushroom Penne with Herb Sauce
Not quite what you're describing, but this also has potential!!
alicia, i dont know your situation, but , just go in and show your beautiful self to them. Charm the receptionist and swim your way in, in person. Another option is temp jobs in the areas you are interested in. Once you get in, you can "show them your face"
Your are Pisces right? You wont have any problem merging with people and smoothing the way in...
dismiss the "rules" and see what happens, eh?
blessings,
chami
thanks SF!
Alicia, I agree...I always prefer going in in person as well, or at least sniffing around on how to make a cold call. Especially if you are a people person. Are there a lot of jobs where you are or are you thinking of relocating somewhere else?
The amount of jobs isn't really the problem (I live just outside of Boston) -- it's really the amount of people searching for jobs right now because of all the layoffs in the last year or so. Hiring committees are just super tight on what qualifications they want, because there is such a large pool of applicants. So switching jobs is just really difficult without any kind of experience in the field you want to move to.
Unfortunately, going in to businesses and showing off my stuff is pretty difficult too (secure buildings, appts only, that kind of thing). I need to network, that is a similar idea...I need to find someone in the biz...:)
You may already know this but cover letter is SOOOO important. Its your face. In fact, my current supervisor said she chose me as a candidate based on my cover letter because it addressed every point in the position description of the job ad. Keep trying and good luck, the right position will find you at the right time.

I'm cooking, and here's my question:
Does anybody know a recipe that resembles this:
chick pea and penne, the penne is cooked with part of the drained water from the chickpea tin, and part fresh water. so after cooking the penne in this, there is a creamy chickpea sauce coating. i think it is a comfort dish from Naples..?
What do you need to know about? Maybe if you leave your question here someone can help you out, and vice versa.
