Definitely! My mom is a triple Sadge with her Moon sitting within one degree of her ascendent in the 12th house, my younger sister and brother are both Sadges. My dad is a Scorpio Sun and rising with a Taurus moon (I think, I can't ever seem to get his birth time pinned down--I can always tell a Scorpio or Capricorn because they nearly always refuse to divulge the information). I am a Pisces with Mars in the 4th house in Sagittarius. My brother and I both have Virgo rising and he has a Scorpio moon. My sister has a packed 12th house. There's little to no air in our family, literally and astrologically! There is A LOT of Capricorn in my immediate family: mom, sister and brother all have Mars and Venus in Capricorn and I am positive my dad has at least two personal planets in Capricorn. Needless to say, while they may be tempestuous people for my sensitive Piscean soul to live with, they are amazingly loyal and supportive in many goat-y ways.
I have no Capricorn and have always seemed to be on the outskirts. "Genetic" astrology fascinates me because, almost 90% of the time, there are strong influence from both parents to their children. In regards to family, the Universe always seems to give you people similar in karma. It's interesting to ponder how we chose one another in order to grow--or regress--spiritually. Great topic, Lunalie!
There's a Saturn-Neptune signature in all of my family's charts. Other than that, there are some similarities here and there but nothing that stands out.
This is interesting, though: for the past three generations (my mom, sister, and niece), each eldest daughter has been born on her maternal great-grandmother's birthday. *nodnod*
I've been thinking about this a lot lately too...
My mom, sister and I all have tight yods in our chart (my sister has 2!), and it's supposed to be a pretty uncommon aspect configuration. Additionally, every one of our yods has fire/air as the sextile and water as the point, each chart uses a different combo of the signs.
I read in "The Yod Book" that it is common among families to pass on the yod, being the same philosophical/psychological struggle being passed down from mother to daughter.
I'm libra.
My father is a virgo with lots of libra. I have a conjuntion for every single one of his planets.
My mother is a cancer-cap. we have a venus conjuntion and a square for every other planet .
With my sister it's all squares again but same taurus moon.
As for my famyly design:4th mars-uranus in scorpio. 7th aquarius.
I recently noticed that my mom, dad, and brother all have Leo Mars - whilst mine is Scorp.. Needless to say, I swim upstream around my fam.
Retrospectively, it's no shocker that I'm the black sheep. All the Aquarius in my chart just adds fuel to their hot hot fires (mom and brother both have EXTREME leo stelliums).
My mother had another child, in between my brother and I. She was 11 months old when she died the day after my 3rd birthday. She and I both have Aquarius moons, and her sun falls in my seventh house with ceres... I definitely feel a loss.
(((donederin and your mama)))
Thanks kash. Overdue grief is really... Just a bummer to deal with. You gotta do it, but hardly anyone, including myself, is ever totally convinced that it's grieving and not holding onto the negativity.
There are a few other astrological points that I've observed regarding my sister and her death - my mother has started to say in the past year since I've been thinking about my sister more that she believes the karmic lessons regarding my sister were belonging to my father. My mom says that she was there because she could take it, but it was for my dad, not for her.
Their synastry aspects create a grand cross involving their chirons (his is retro in the 5th house), his mars and her pluto. Her pluto literally tore his mars to shreds. Meanwhile, her moon conjuncts her IC and my father's Saturn-Mars opposition sit on the same axis. His Sag ascendant conjuncts her Uranus, and their Pisces Jupiters conjunt.
It's really hard for me to look at her chart and make any sense of it - but when I hold it up against the charts of me and my family... I see a lot of havoc.
I'm super interested in the family aspect of astrology. I've found, that in my family unit of 4, Water as
or Ascendant is a commonality. I've recently gotten birth data regarding the biological father of my son's side of the family and have found an interesting Sagittarius tangent that links them all (my son included).
Coincidentally, I can pick this Sagittarius component up in both of my parents, but is not really a part of my chart. But again, it's there in my son's chart.
I've also noticed an interesting
placement on the angles that seems to be present for me, my mom, son and 2 births this year in my side of the family of my mom. I don't have enough birth data of the others in my mom's family to exsplore this more.

I know there was a post made of this before but this was inspired by the "Your Mom" astrology board that was started here.
I was looking into astrological signatures of my family. I do not know all their birth times (I wish I did) but I noticed a few similarities with my family. For instance, my mother's moon also sextiles her venus, much like mine. She also has a Sun/Uranus trine like I do and that EVIL Pluto square moon :P My mother is also heavily water, like I am (thought I'm a balance of water and fire).
Other common themes my mom, dad and two other brothers have: A lot of Pisces (mainly my Mom, dad and myself), a lot of Libra (all) and a lot of Sag. My Mom is highly mutable, just like one of my brothers. My little brother (ok, he's 25, but he's still little to me!) and I have the closest to a balanced chart - except I lack air. My Dad has a strong Earth element. I inherited everything Piscean from both my parents as my brothers do not have this sign at all.
Do you notice any similarities in your family?
