"Police were looking Friday for two suspects they say shot up a Los
Angeles-area coffee house overnight, killing one patron and wounding
six others.

The shooting in San Gabriel Thursday night was believed to be the
result of a fight at the establishment and involved two masked men who
fled on foot.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, which took over the
homicide investigation early Friday, said witnesses told police that
the two assailants walked in with bandannas on their faces and began
shooting into the crowd.

The soldier thinks this was a terrorist attack...

I am sure the victims consider it a terrorist act. However, I find it hard to believe   motivated and determined terrorist(s) couldn't inflicted more casualties. No, I don't think so, who knows though.

Sounds like Asian gang violence to me. 

Because of the area where it happened and the whole scene, it seems to have rather personal motivations, like a gang revenge, but it cannot be determined until they investigate the case and the people who were involved.

I think it is a terrorist attack but which group of terrorists who knows?

There was not motive... but to terrify and as satori pointed out - the camera malfuncitoned? Did it, or does the FBI have the tape?

So do bank robbers, or any perpetrator of a crime trying to conceal their identity. Why would a organization capable enough to execute a complex attack such as 911 resort to gangland tactics. With 2 individuals that are now at large which can be apprehended, rigorously interrogated and possibly jeopardize future operations.Unlike the soldiers in the terrorist cells who martyrize themselfs in the name of Allah. Dead men do no talking. One could say, the terrorist masterminds may have resorted to low level attacks to accomplish something, in lieu of the complex operations that would surely draw the attention of the intelligence community. Again, highly unlikely in my opinion, but time will only tell.

Dan, I don't know that time will tell. I don't believe the press at all. It leaves a person to use their head and that is why I ask questions like this. I want to know what other heads are thinking.

Elsa, I agree with not trusting media. We will have to wait and see, maybe, maybe not. What would you do if it proves to be a terrorist attack? And how would it directly impact your day to day living? I will continue living my life regardless. Since we really can't  completely safeguard from such actions, I see no reason to worry about it.
