Have you ever thrown stupid out the window.................
posted 3 months ago in General
I entered a relationship I knew was stupid and negative for me... Very stupid! I had a hell of a time getting out afterwards too! I think fear played a part in this and I thought I'd never get away. This was the most stupid thing I ever did. Course he pushed and pushed and pushed and I did give in. Very stupid of me.
I married someone because I was pregnant. I was seventeen and much too young to be in that serious a commitment. He wasn't much older himself. I wish I'd stayed single and raised my daughter myself.
However, I had no idea beforehand how stupid this decision was. I was supported by community and family. Really, the only indication I could see was my almost total panic attack right before we walked down the aisle.
In retrospect, there were plenty of indicators that this was a major mistake, I was just too young to discern them.
Everytime I throw stupid out the window it boomerangs right back at me twice as hard. :S
I dated this boy in college who was such a fun person to be around -- he was just terrible committment material. His mother told me I was too good for him (what?) Strangers on the street would randomly come up to us, point a finger at him and say "you take care of her, got it?" The meter guy in the town I lived in told me I could do better LOL I was like, what the hell???? But I stayed! To hell with all of them, I told myself. What do they know? He wasn't a bad person, just not good for me. Still, the universe could not have been clearer and I stared in its face, scratching my head saying "duhhhh..."
One night I just *had* to see him, so I hopped a bus to Hackensack, New Jersey. Yes, it's a horrible place lol He lived in the "crack house" part of town because I insisted that he get his own place (he was living with his mom when we met). I got on this bus, and missed my stop somehow. So I got off a mile or two down the road at 11pm all alone in Hackensack, NJ. BAD IDEA. I lived, at least -- I went into a family restaurant whose lights were on, and a fatherly looking man offered to take me to where I wanted to go. I got in the car with him (whhhaaaat??) and he took me to my boyfriend's house. Thank God, he said he had a daughter about my age and wanted me to be safe. He treated me with respect and dropped me at my destination. It was really scary. Of course I did the walk of shame to the bus stop in Hackensack more than once when I visited him in that stupid crack house LOL
DUMB. I met my husband shortly thereafter, and I have never been that much of a dumbass since :)
Walking in the Red Light District in Amsterdam at 4 a.m wearing jogging pants with the word "Naughty" on my ass and 69 on the front with my friend (smallish guy) who had the word "Delicious" on his shirt. I was the only "free" girl there and surrounding by really tall men!! All of that for a photo that we wanted to take...
Yea..... t'was incredibly stupid!

@ rantares..... you saw a gynocologist? Umm....I didn't think you were so equipped for seeing that kind of dr. ;) Sorry if I'm missing something cuz I'm new.
When I was a much more intelligent teenager <smirks> I once thought it would be smart to pour a can of gasoline on a fire. As I realized the fire was snaking up the stream of gasoline, I threw the can (it was like an old coffee can and open) and watched the fire spread and fly!
As a less intelligent early 20's immortal chic, I was overseas in Korea, not able to speak or read the language, and yeah, i took off with a friend to another town where we knew not a single soul. She got pissed at me and let me in a hotel. I walked around the area of the hotel/market till she returned. No one knew where we were...
I also got married while still in my early 20's, I knew it was wrong. It was because the guy I was totally completely in love with cheated on me, with a topless dancer no less! So I met a guy, had a whirlwind romance, was married within 2 months. Then he had to go out of country, and I had a series of panic attacks, I had done this behind my parents back and couldn't see how to tell them. So when he got back in country I had our marriage annulled. And I got back together with the guy who had cheated on me.
Let's just say my 20's were FULL of STUPID!
>> the volunteer doctor from the organization i did my student exchange with was actually a gyno.. i didn't know this until after he falsely diagnosed me with a potentialy deadly disease. fun times in Bolivia!!!
i love the word defenestration
*Sigh* There's quite a few things about military weapons that just "begs": "Hey.... don't do THIS if you are NOT Superman." Obviously when you're young , you always think Clark Kent was a pussy. I did.... and I'm here to tell you somewhere there's a Guardian Angel submitting another Complaint Chit about me.
