I'm having a bit of trouble turning off my brain lately. It's almost impossible to sleep thru the night and the next morning i'm so groggy and my energy levels are never stable when I need them to be.

I've been doing melatonin and not doing any caffiene after noontime. I seem to get enough exercise during the day but it's more of a nervous energy. I'm wired all the time, I also have the attention span of a 3 year old. To make matters worse I'm 54 and still have regular normal periods. Menopause starts when FLS hormone levels hit 23, (blood test reveal mine were 5.2)

Gemini ascen/moon/mars/venus/sun in Virgo. I'm gonna start a yoga class to see if some of this energy can go somewhere else.

WOW, you're 54 and still have normal periods? I'm so jealous. I'm 37 and mine are abnormal. The other night I had a terrible nightmare which I know was related to hormones.

Virgo and Gemini... both itchy signs, no? I thought I read that Virgo had a certain tension. I have Virgo rising and venus. It's like I'm always slightly worried and uncomfortable. What a great feeling!

Things I've tried to help calm me down:

Sex and/or self pleasuring

Regular exercise to help burn off the excess energy

Switching from coffee to tea

Taurine (I just discovered it - supp to help with blood pressure too)

Valerian

Kava Kava

Chamomile tea

Yoga

Calcium and Magnesium

Vitamin B complex

Avoiding assholes

Same here. I am applying to a job position and I completed the cover letter on Friday. So basically all weekend I was up pondering whether or not I will get an interview or not as I was trying to go to sleep. haha

I haven't any Gemini and I've had the same problems turning my brain off recently.  Up late every night, hungry brain devouring every piece of information or knowledge it can find and still dissatisfied.

Ever since the Saturn/Uranus opposition I have not been sleeping properly. I get melatonin and I stay away from caffeine yet no can do... I'm not wired, but I just can't sleep.

My mom is a Gemini.  Shes had sleep problems for years.  She says her iPod saved her life.  She gets books from audible and listens to them to fall asleep.  She says listening to someone else talk is the only thing that quiets her own mind.

notatirem that's neat - I do the same thing with white noise - nature sounds, basically.  Waves crashing on the beach and such.  Music doesn't work because my mind will fixate on the music and be sharp (no pun intended.  Terrible key to work in anyway.) Spoken word stuff because I catch the words and my brain plays with them, same kind of thing but less intense.

I've got sun-saturn-asc conjunct in Gemini, and Mercury at 28ish Taurus in my 12th looking over the fence

Hey, I'm a Gemini with an ipod and a subscription to Audible.com too! The only problem is falling fully asleep while listening to a book, which I did once with "Down and Out in Paris and London" -- I fell asleep while the narrator was still in Paris and woke up with the narrator in London bwahahaha.

One note about the list above:  kava kava is not a good herbal supplement for regular use -- it can cause liver damage. It was a 'special occasion' substance for the native people who first used it.

Great suggestions, thankz. I avoid assholes like the plague and I'm trying to read before i go to bed and maybe take a shower to get me relaxed. But even the anticipation of whether I'm gonna sleep that night or not makes me anxious.

It might be earth energy which is rockin' and rollin' right now that i'm picking up now. Mother earth is anxious too.

I'm checking out deep breathing exercises and see if I can master that to get a grip on the anxiety. Does anyone out there get particularly anxious at nightime?

mimi i get anxious at nighttime. it tends to build over the course of the day. i don't really have sleeping problems though. i kind of wear myself out.  i sleep like i'm dead and wake up wondering what the hell i was so anxious about the night before.

i'd suggest taking a shower or bath in the dark. i try to go womb-like. often it helps.

Uranus activity is what buzzes me and makes it hard to sleep more than Mercury. But I'm heavy on Merc influence, so I may be desensitized.

I have suffered from anexity and wired energy with difficult Uranus transits. Usually, the boredom is a sign that I must change and shift into something excitement and new.

I currently have Uranus SQUARING Mercury and OPPOSES Mars. I am having for the first time some sleep problems. I sleep the full period but in a very restless way. The dreams are agittated, and involved lightning bolts, floods, car accidents and stuff like that.

The incredible is that I am leaving my job this month to travel and volunteer abroad! It's a great decision, so I don't really understand why Uranus continues so wired. Maybe it's because the T-square hits my natal Mercury and natal Mars exactly.

Even with healthy habits (exercise, good food, sleep 23-7am) I still feel this wired tension, like Uranus wants me to do something great and new, not in 3 weeks but NOW! I can't even stay one day at home or at work, without feeling this!
