I am so heartbroken and sad right now.

The guy I have been dating now has to move to China for business opportunity.

He is a producer and this is too big of an opportunity to miss so I understand.

He told me not to take it personal and all but I can't help being sad about it.

Nothing is set in stone as far as his plans are concerned, he doesn't know how this will go (no doubt it will be successful) just how much work it will be, how long he will be there, that kind of thing -- so he joked how "I can't ask you to go with me, that's not right."

Since I am in aviation, it's not *that* big of a deal for me to get over there, but still I just feel sad :(

He's following his NN in early Sag, which obviously means a bit of travel or dealing with foreigners is necessary to find his destiny. The NN seems to be on Yed Prior, associated with success in 9th house matters, which makes me wonder what exactly he has in his 9th. Indeed, Jupiter in his own house, trine to Neptune in Sag. That's a very adventurous Jupiter in Aries, by the way. Neptune in Sag can be construed as "Dreams of far away places, sailing, flight or doing right by God" Trine this to a 9th hs Aries Jupiter? This sounds so sad that I wish you could go with him and make a new start!  I understand having to travel for your work and I had to all my life but having someone with you can't be beat if it's someone you love! Is there any way you could go with him?  I feel so badly for you both to be alone.  These days you can't sit on your hands and watch your career happen and moving is what it's about so you have to change the way you court as well. If you find him someone you don't want to live without I would talk to him about coming with him and starting a whole new life for yourself!

I'm sorry to hear about your predicament LAgurl.  I've been in a similar situation, though not recently.

Here is my question to you:  you say he says, "I can't ask you to go with me, that's not right."  What does that mean?  Does he want you to go with him, but he's afraid to ask you directly?  I understand that it's a huge thing to ask someone to move abroad for them.  Or - does he not want you to go and this is an easy way for him to circumvent saying that directly?

I agree that if you two are of a sufficient "thing", go with him. It sounds like a dreamy adventure. Tell him he's not asking, you're offering!

I think what he meant by his comment is that he doesn't know what is going to happen, so he can't be irresponsible and ask me to go with him when things may be crazy, he may not even be available, etc.

I don't know if any of you remember the last season of Sex and the City where Carrie went to Paris and just had to entertain herself?

Kind of like that - I am assuming.

I mean with my access to be able to go home, etc and what not and Shanghai being a huge cosmopolitan city, I'm sure there are things I can fill my time with.

I'm just not knowing how things will be.

@LAgurl, not being able to comment on anything else (I haven't experienced anything like this yet, I haven't been so serious with a man to consider moving yet, etc.), I can comment on what you said about amusing yourself in the new city.

You sound confident enough to know that you'll be ok having fun or learning the ropes in a new city - even if that involves doing it alone sometimes. Secure in the knowledge that you can go back home when it is necessary to do so, nothing on that front is really stopping you.

As for Carrie from SATC, I think her relationship with Mr Big had a weird dynamic going on. I was way younger when I watched it so perhaps my interpretation of things was naive or perhaps I am only remembering key points, but I felt they had a power dynamic going on - and it wasn't in her favour. If you go because you wish to be with him AND because you are adventurous enough to take care of your own happiness whilst abroad, then your reaction to whatever happens would be different from that of Carrie's.

Oh, it was you on the inside? In that case, what I said about him applies to you directly. If you move, he's smart to follow. I still see this as a well supported move, whoever the initiator may be. If you're in aviation, Shanghai is a great hub for air traffic, with infinite opportunities. Your charts also have so many lovely aspects I'm sure you'd both be miserable when separated. I just can't imagine anybody feeling good about losing that Sag Mars trine to Jupiter in the 9th. The same Mars on your 5th hs cusp must feel good. Your Mars and Jupiter in his 5th must feel great. Mars trine Venus is self explanatory. His Moon trining your Pluto on his Jupiter looks like success to me. Your moon sextile to the same makes you a good team, as far as success is concerned. You can succeed happily together or fail separately, probably on account of unhappiness. Your Saturn in Cancer is afraid to leave home, but that's no reason why you couldn't be happy creating a home in China. I'm sure you'll make it comfy. Your Cancer Venus is well supported by his Saturn, so don't expect him to stand in your way, when you're choosing curtains. His Saturn squaring your Moon may create problems, but with all those supportive aspects, you should manage. 

As for the thing he said about it not being right to ask such things of you, he's got a Virgo Sun trine to Juno in Cap, meaning he really wants to do things by the book, when he feels committed to somebody. He's careful not to impose his will upon you, so that you can make up your own mind without feeling pressured. His Saturn DC probably is afraid to suggest such a great change for fear of rejection. If you insisted on going with him, the initiative would be out of his hands, as would the responsibility for failure (Saturn). That Saturn is just as afraid to pop the question as your Saturn in Cancer is afraid of relocation. If I had aspects like that with somebody, I'd want to ask, but I doubt I'd like to risk rejection by asking too much too fast.

With all those 5th house placements, having to entertain yourself is probably the least of your concerns. Losing those matching angles and other lovely aspects would NOT be entertaining at all. I see separation as a miserable state that'll do much more damage than any possible difficulties you'll face, real or imaginary. Don't forget you both have Sag and plenty enough of mutable energy to adapt to life anywhere. Love will make it work, especially with Neptune in Pisces.

if it's any consolation, Shanghai is a big city that is very modern.  the Bund looks like NYC!  It isn't a backwater by any stretch. Its huge and has all the shopping, restos and conveniences you can imagine. A wonderful place to be, imho.
