I'm wondering how in the world you get to know these people?! I am a highly intuitive Aquarius Moon, Pl/ME 1st house conjunction, Mars/Uranus conjunction in scorpio. I can hear what this person is thinking/feeling very well, but still a no go on the verbal communication. What's the deal with that?

I'm thinking they are looking for loyalty and trustworthiness.  only time and patience will "prove you up."

I'd say they get to know you and you don't get to know them in that as much as you get to know, you don't know shit. :)

Thanks Elsa! That seems a little unfair to lil' ol' Libra Rising! I definitely get that sense of being judged and some casting of stones sort of thing. I find it fascinating nonetheless. Maybe it's just the challenge of it all!

    Satori where's your moon?

    satori

my moon's in capricorn.  I totally know Elsa's right.  I guess my saturn flavored moon just wants to believe that if I work hard enough... :D

I can only speak for myself - I never tell anyone everything.  I mean that.  I just don't.  Not even my husband, or my sister, who is my best friend.  For me it's self-preservation, and of course, protection.

As Rodney Dangerfield once said, in one of my favorite movies, "He really seems to care............about what, I don't know."

Same way you get to know a wolf. You sit with the meat in your hand and wait for it to come to you. Patience and trust building.

As one who has a Scorpio Moon, I would say it takes time and patience, provided the Scorpio Moon trusts you or develops that trust. Everything of course depends on the rest of the chart.

I don't entirely agree with you Elsa, but I don't entirely disagree either. I know that's sounds non-committal, but I see it two ways.  Certainly Scorpio, hard Pluto aspects to personal planets, and 8th house all have the potential of taking secrets to the grave. So you may think you know all--or a lot of it--but it's the tip of the iceberg. What you don't know, you don't even know you don't know.

On the other hand, however, deeply private people, often appear to be harboring secrets when they're not, simply because they're private and they keep things to themselves that other people readily share. People who don't share that need for privacy can think something is seriously amiss when Scorpio is not forthcoming.

For myself, I really do want to share my deepest secrets, okay some of them, to a trusted ally, not the world, but I fear being misunderstood and/or betrayed if I do.  I also get a lot of stuff projected on me that is not about me. How much of that is the Scorpio Moon, squared by Pluto, btw, and how much is a 1st house Neptune square Cancer Sun, smoke and mirrors, I'm not sure, but I sometimes wonder, if someone complains they don't really know me, how much is that me being private or secretive and how much is them obscuring their own vision with their projections?

luci, that reminds me of people who get eaten by their "pet" bear.

ha ha ha  A bear is a bear and a Scorpio Moon is a Scorpio Moon. Not to be snotty but it's fairly arrogant to think you are going to be able to know the unfathomable. :-)

I mean, to WANT to know is normal but to imagine it can be done is another thing all together.

very interesting stuff. I would think there's hope in the matter due to a Saggy Venus and Aq Sun, although this person also has Mars in Scorpio.

Here's some synastry stuff I'm also wondering about!

My Chiron conjunct His Saturn (2 degrees)

My Chiron Opposing His Mars/Moon Conjunction (4 degrees)

My Saturn conjunct His Pluto (exact) - this one interests me most. Definitely an intense dynamic between the 2 of us, although nearly all of it is completely on the energetic level.

    Thoughts!

ha ha ha  A bear is a bear and a Scorpio Moon is a Scorpio Moon. That's good Elsa. So much for all my philosophizing. Since a bear has no idea what it is to not be a bear, maybe a Scorpio Moon person is the last one who should be trying to answer that question. :-)

Now this is synchronicity at its best. So today the Sun went into Scorpio. We're talking about Scorpio Moon people. Elsa says a bear is a bear and a Scorpio Moon is a Scorpio Moon, and my Scorpio son (Taurus Moon bless his heart) just posted this on his FB page:

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/10/23/russia.skating.bear.death/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

Well, 'to know someone' is really never ending process, Scorpio Moon or not. But I agree  with Dorothy on this. I'm Moon and I never tell anyone everything. that's just the way it is. some things I know I'll take to the grave. and it is about protecting myself. that probably sounds strange to people who are more open. I don't know what I'm exactly protecting myself from, but it's instinctive.

After some time your Scorpio Moon will probably speak up more, but don't expect miracles. some truly private things are rarely going out.

The soldier (who has a Scorpio Moon), "Why are people so stupid around bears, P?  And they're all from Colorado," he added.

I was reading the animal section of a Darwin Award book at the time.

Speaking of the Moon, I must be in some kind of a mood. On my son's post about the Russian bear killing the circus hand, I wrote as a comment, "Did he have a Scorpio Moon?" neither specifying nor caring who "he" refers to,  not to mention that neither my son nor anyone else who reads his post knows about our Scorpio Moon discussion and Elsa's bear analogy.

On another note I'm thinking, so the next time someone pisses me off, I can ask, "Why are people so stupid around Scorpio Moons?"

That is a fair analogy. A Scorpio Moon eats out of your hand the same way a bear does. Har har har.

I am sorry but we do laugh about this around here.

Siegfried and Roy lost track of the fact they were dealing with tigers and the result was tragic.

And then there was the guy who lived with the bears (Timothy Treadwell) right up until they ate him and his girlfriend.

Ugh, "Grizzly Man" totally makes me sick to my stomach but I can't look away. The guy's a total dumbass but the documentary is riveting. Hard to believe people search for the death audio from that incident - the graphic retelling of how the rangers retrieved Timothy/girlfriend's remains from the slain bears just isn't enough for some people eh?

Whatever else you do, do NOT try to butter them up with small talk!

*Edit*--you'll do better (no guarantees) to ask them about an existential question.  Preferably of importance to them rather than you, so that they are less likely to sting you in jest.

Regarding the Dorothy/Elsa/et al line of discussion about not pissing off Scorpio moons--dare I say this extends to scorpio suns, as well?

I can't count the number of times I've thought to myself "you have no idea how important it is that you knock that off right now!"

Scorpio Sun and Moon are different in that you can SEE the Sun in Scorpio.  The Moon in Scorpio is not at all apparent.

You're welcome, I like this topic and note the thread is well suited to the sky right now where Mars in Leo squares the Sun in Scorpio. I was not thinking of that when I wrote that it is arrogant to think you can know the Moon in Scorpio (it is) but you can see the square right there...

One of childhood friends has Scorpio moon and she doesn't tell me everything but it doesn't bother me at all because I don't tell her everything either. It isn't because we don't trust each other, you can tell either one of us anything and that is as far as it goes, it's just that some things are private.

I have Pluto conjunct Moon and if I think you are trying to crawl all up in my business you permanently have no chance. I will be friendly to you but basically you played the wrong card, game over.

Scorpio moons are a mystery and I like a mystery. They don't have that annoying overly flashy thing that some people have. And no, I'm not dissing Leo, just people who are too show offish for me.

Ask them about themselves, but don't get offended if they're evasive.

Be prepared to be the one doing most of the sharing/talking/answering questions.

Be calm and patient. In fact - just stop thinking about it. Don't make this your "mission." Scorpio moon LOVES to probe, but does NOT like to be probed.

I know... it makes no sense. It's not fair. Just take it for what it is and let it play out however it plays out.

Say nothing.  If you are talking, Scorpio moon is plotting your demise.

I HATE HATE HATE (thats triple Hate) strangers with questions.  Nothing turns on the venom faster.

Approach like Buster Keaton, i.e. silently.   You can say so much more without words.

To be fair, I have a sag moon that is a bit of a curse.  I feel it invites a certain level of disrespect.  But that's a transit for another thread :-)

I am close to a few scorpio moons. My tightest girlfriend is one. She  talks to me about deep and personal intimate matters. But you know, here is how it works. I don't probe. She tells me what she tells me, we talk about it and I NEVER press her for details. I am not the kind of person who does that anyway. but with a scorpio moon no one should. I let her discuss my intimate whatever, she does probe, but she also respects if I don't want to go any farther into something. I am lucky, as cancer sun, taurus rising, virgo moon, I tend to get along well with scorpio  and I am deeply respectful of  the type of insight scorpio moon has to offer.

It is such a quandary being a shiny chicken (Sun, Merc, Jupiter in Gemini) with a Scorpio moon.  People do not expect a shiny chicken to turn deadly and they resent deeply when they didn't see it coming.

Also the twins in my head are constantly at war about who to tell what.   I like to be seen far more than most Scorpio moons, but there are always secrets.

I have a really good relationship with a scorpio moon woman who's a couple weeks older than I am.  Maybe it's that we have some similarities in our charts that we get along so well.  The whole thing has been pretty effortless.  I haven't really worked at it much.  I pretty much go about my business, and she goes about her business.  A couple times a month, we hook up for a conversation.  It has been like this for years.  I don't pry into her business, but this is not anything I'm doing because she's a scorpio moon.  I just don't ask prying questions of people because I don't want people asking prying questions of me.  In any case, she assisted me on an errand this year, something that I needed her to help me finesse.  It was a secret between us and she pulled it off beautifully.  I owe her a favor and she knows I'll swing through on it.

It depends on their sun sign and other planets, of course. I'm a Libra with a Scorpio moon and my best friend is a Taurus with an Aquarius moon. Are there some things that she has no idea about me? Well, sure... but somehow the Libra and Aquarius manage to fill the space with SOMETHING, not to mention our mutual Virgo risings do a lot of nitpicking and "noticing" together which we're both quite happy to discuss.

Michelle, LOL! This is too much talk about those of us with Scorpio Moons.  I'm getting uncomfortable.

You can look up the sun/moon combos for a "flavor" of someone's personality here:

    http://astrology-numerology.com/sun-moon7.html

Here's mine, and at least 2 other people on this thread (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!). As you can see, the sun placement makes the difference.

7-8 Libra/Scorpio The combination of your Sun sign and your Moon sign denotes a nature that is independent of mind and action, thought and expression. You are both mentally quick and penetrating, with an absorbing curiosity. Thus, you are a ready student, precocious, and wanting to make rapid strides in the world. Your superb logic and analytical abilities are wrapped in a wave of emotionalism. You have a detective approach to things. Sneaking up on a question, figuring out what it is you want to achieve, and pouncing on it with full force. This is not a vague and undecided Libra. There is spice in your nature, excess and extremes in your actions. You have a strong sense of justice, and you can fly off the handle when you feel you have been treated unfairly. On the surface you can seem docile and amiable, but underneath you'll fight at the drop of a hat. You are a born idealist and rebel, a radical, always on the side of change, progress and novelty. You are an enthusiast in all matters, and have little time for people that pussy foot around and seem to lack conviction. Your interests are broad and sweeping...ideas, philosophies, the arts. So you're inclined more to the professions or the artistic, instead of a business career.

5-8 Leo/Scorpio The combination of your Sun and Moon signs produces a vital and highly charged temperament. Passion and temper have to be controlled and directed for you to achieve the high potential offered by this placement, for it is a very dynamic and powerful combination indeed. There is a natural tendency for you to become very emotional and personally involved in problems or debates; it may be an understatement to say that your likes and dislikes are well-defined. Sometimes a bit of ranting and raging can result if you fail to keep a tight lid on your natural inclinations. Your success and happiness may depend on maintaining full control over your emotions and feelings, and directing your energies along constructive lines. A natural magnetism permits you to achieve a much success as a leader, but there is likely to be much more emotionalism than mental depth in your makeup. Yours is a very confident and positive nature, revealing considerable pride and self-regard. You don't seem to rely on logic, intuition, or reason, but instead you react on pure instinct. High in moral attitudes, you draw the line on others quickly, and too readily judge others on your stated standards, which you may not always live up to yourself. Everything is colored by your personal biases, and you have little capacity for objectivity or detachment. This is a very driving placement, bent on getting power and authority, and very capable of fulfilling these objectives. In business or executive affairs you are keenly alert to your interests, aggressive, vigilant and determined. You act on ideas quickly and without hesitation. You are determined and shrewd. You are essentially dramatic, with yourself being the main character occupying center stage.
