I find it hard to believe Pluto rules a water sign.

I think it's hard to understand the enormous strength and power in watersigns unless you are one.
... and even a tiny trickle of water goes down deep, can wear down a rock, it just goes down deep, spreads over everything, changing it forever. Think of water damage, too, like in a house - it's insidious, sometimes hard to see, but it can make the foundations and walls come tumbling down (or create an overpowering stench - hard to trace the source - it's always goes deeper than you think it does).
My dad used to tell me water was the most overlooked, least respected, of the threats to a home - a tiny leak, unnoticed, can destroy it all (fire and wind is so obvious, but water is sneaky and devastating, and can be much harder to combat or guard against). Floods, too - once they've entered, even after they're drained, things are not easy to get back to the way they were before.
pluto is mostly ice...
and, well, water... hydrology... underground rivers feeding or undermining landscapes... permafrost... glaciers carving away rock... subsurface sea currents barely above freezing moving nurtrients around the globe to feed massive banks of fish and aquatic life...
liquid rock and metal in the depth of the planet.... tell me, what element is that?
Do you ever feel deep churning within you? That is probably Pluto you are feeling.
Pluto = Undertow
If you don't feel its power, just wade in a little deeper. But make sure there are lifeguards on duty! ![]()
T Pluto is about 5 degrees past my Mars so it's not as painful but Pluto is still on my Asc too.
Very difficult - lots of changes I have no control over, scary, 2 weird rare genetic diseases, body is falling apart, parents moved to assisted living and the house my dad built & I grew up in was sold at the same time I had a hysterectomy & 1 other surgery, my mom died, dad dying, father-in-law died, friends died, pets died.
I have to quit working, which pisses me off because I've been working since I was 7 and I think it's my job to take care of my family. Grrr. And I saw my husband for 2 weeks all of 2009 because he lost his job & took another one overseas last year. He's home now yay.
I don't want to scare anyone who is going to go through a Pluto transit - my Mars is in a t-square "it's complicated." And T Uranus and Saturn are also involved.
But I have a lot of support
and I've been able to volunteer for a bunch of clinical trials and studies that will help Drs figure out how systems in the body work (that they still don't know much about unfortunately), which my Virgo likes. When T Saturn was on my Pluto last year I volunteered for one study that turned off my (screwy) autonomic nervous system, which kind of felt like a rehearsal for dying but was also kind of an exciting adventure in a Flatliners sort of way haha.
Not looking forward to Pluto going backwards this Spring though. Bppppppppttt.
Sorry if this alarms anyone. I'm getting whomped by outer planets & your transits, I'm sure, won't be anything like this. :)
Thanks.
Another thing is since I refer to my "I'm sick" blog as my "affliction blog" that is ruining it for other disabled people, so I need to get the PC groupthink happening and call it my "disability blog" and quit f-ing things up the other disabled people. ![]()
That's a perfectly good, appropriate word:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/affliction
–noun
1. a state of pain, distress, or grief; misery: They sympathized with us in our affliction.
2. a cause of mental or bodily pain, as sickness, loss, calamity, or persecution.
Origin:
1300–50; ME affliccioun < L affliction- (s. of afflictio). See afflict, -ion
Related forms:
af·flic·tion·less, adjective
Synonyms:
2. mishap, trouble, tribulation, calamity, catastrophe, disaster. Affliction, adversity, misfortune, trial refer to an event or circumstance that is hard to bear. A misfortune is any adverse or unfavorable occurrence: He had the misfortune to break his leg. Affliction suggests not only a serious misfortune but the emotional effect of this: Blindness is an affliction. Adversity suggests a calamity or distress: Job remained patient despite all his adversities. Trial emphasizes the testing of one's character in undergoing misfortunes, trouble, etc.: His son's conduct was a great trial to him.
Antonyms:
1. relief, comfort, solace.
What is so hard to believe about the water/pluto connection? You never heard of "crossing the river Styx" to get to the underworld? From Wikipedia:
The rivers Styx, Phlegethon, Acheron, and Cocytus all converge at the center of the underworld on a great marsh. The other important rivers of the underworld are Lethe, Eridanos, and Alpheus. The ferryman was called Charon...The gods respected the Styx and swore binding oaths by it.
Ah, well now I'm reading back the thread. Jilly, immerse yourself in the plutonian energies. The legend is that Achilles was dipped in the River Styx as a baby, which imbued him with the attribute that he could not be killed. But his mother held him by his foot, so his heel was never dipped in the Styx, leaving that one area unprotected. So Achilles finally was killed by an arrow to his heel, thus the expression, "Achilles Heel."
Anyway, I am just discovering the depth of my plutonian nature, it can protect you well, if you know how to connect to it, rather than fight against it.
Well some believe that Mars rules Scorpio and Neptune rules Pisces. I'm all in favor of that belief.
Jilly,
I'm new here (call me Des!) and it sounds like we have very similar transits going down. My Mars is 4Cap, conjuncting my Moon at 3Cap. Ah yes, tPluto my friend. This pair forms tsqs with both Mercury (12Aries)/Uranus (12Libra) AND (drumroll please...) with my Sun(29Pisces- hi tUra!) and Pluto(28Virgo- hi tSaturn!)
This Pluto transit is going through my 12H and so far it has not been easy, but it has been good. I have been really really STUCK for the last seven or eight years, and I'm finding that I have more energy than I have had in ages, even though my sleep has been lousy thanks to Mr. Ura. The energy seems to be focussed on getting myself unstuck somehow. The depression is lifting, I am more present with my children and more willing to deal with tough things I have been avoiding. Even dealing with my soon-to-fly-the-coop-oh-God-why-won't-he-just-do-it-already oldest has been agonizing, but not mortally wounding.
I have been a stay at home mom fulltime since my second (of five) child was born and I couldn't juggle being on call 24/7 for the midwife I was working with. Hubby has gone through some rough job layoffs in the last few years and his industry is clearly dying, so he is now working full time and attending night school with a 12cr load. He is exhausted and gone so much, but ladies there is one benefit to this transit package that I think I may be able to attribute to the Pluto square. The sex has NEVER been better!
So while this has been tough, I can see the long term benefits of the changes that Pluto and Saturn have been bringing. I know it is far from over though. For example, I am very nervous about my father having surgery this Friday. Losing him now seems just like something Pluto would like to try. Meanwhile, I am just trying to toss out the trash I have gathered around me figuratively and literally so as to make these transits a bit easier to digest. Hopefully my plan works. :)
(And I am not gonna even think about rPluto backing over me later. Nope. I'll deal with it then.)
Pluto is like Shiva. And Shiva has the Ganges flowing out of the top of his head.
The Ganges is one of the most important sources of water in all of India, coming from the Himalyas. He might be these cold immense mountains with a lot of water stored/built in as ice. Like Pluto, which I will always consider a planet proper.
Pluto is a water sign, but not like Cancer.

Maybe because it's been on my Mars. But it doesn't feel watery.
