I think Obama has an astrologer
posted 12 months ago in News and Current Events
One of the articles you posted on the Dispatch said he actually waited around to sign a bill the other week (now I forgot which one) to get a better sign on the AC or MC? I've forgotten all the details now but the astrologer pointed out he stalled and stalled until he signed right at noon.
Either has an astrologer - or he's superstitious about high noon.
I read in a book that Ronald Reagan's wife had a personal astrologer, and that Reagan often took her advice regarding dates and the such (to the annoyance of his people).
I've got to agree with you Elsa, he's been coming out with major pieces of his agenda only when he's ready.
Elsa would you be his astrologer (or anyone else that's famous and has a huge burden of responsibility) if they called you up and asked you to?
I actually heard him refer to Nancy Reagan in a statement he made:

He casually joked about her "seances." Not sure if this means he doesn't have an astrologer though :)
Peppermint - I don't do timing but I would do what I do, do for anyone who hired me and with confidence. I really think I could help anyone on this planet and that's a fact. Not only that, I've thought this for almost 2 decades!
er... I am strange.
You know, that is pretty much what I thought you'd say!
Dauntless!
You're such a good person, Elsa. I like the way you live your sun.
I read Joan Quigley (the Reagan astrologer)'s book. Very interesting read.

I hope he does have one!
Let's hear it for shiny chickens who love Elsa!
I think it's interesting that you're tracking this. I wonder if it will make him any more effective than he would have been. I think trying to manipulate things by timing them is a very tricky proposition as you can't possibly think of all the potential outcomes. Fascinating nonetheless.
In my opinion everyone who's making important decisions has an astrologer, kings had them, why not presidents? There is no other way to optimize timing, unless someone is able to tap into these orders via their intuition. At high noon the sun is in the 10th house or on the MC, good placements for public and decisive endeavors, as far as I understand...
Apparently you were right on about Obama having an astrologer. Why else would he say the stars are aligned for healthcare reform?. I have not noticed any other astrologers picking up on this. Nice job by you. My question is, what do we think about this? On the one hand, I think it is pretty cool that our President is something of a stargazer. On the other, I guess I'm a little concerned about how much influence his astrologer may have, and more importantly, this astrologers level of competence. I think if Obama uses astrological timing "here and there" to tweak things up a little then that is cool. But if he is using astrology to set his agenda, like his quote sort of leads me to suspect, then I think he may have crossed the line into some very dangerous territory. One can easily become stuck on some "Divine Guidance" trip, sort of like GW Bush and his religious proclivities. The problem with certainty is that it leaves no room for doubt, and history is full of examples of how things can go wrong in this scenario. What say you?
shawn, I am not sure the question but here is an astrologer (Kaye, who I respect) that thinks the astrologer (if they exist) is misguided.
Some others expressed similar feelings on my facebook page.

Does Joan Quigley get into horaries and electionals, or is it more about the individuals?
She is not as specific as I'd like her to be in that book about the details of what she did exactly, but I am fairly sure she did all of the above, especially with individuals and event charting. Lots of the latter one in trying to set when would be the right time to announce events, trying to work with Reagan's chart to make sure he had a less shitty solar return year (sometimes that just couldn't be helped, obviously). I don't recall her mentioning horary specifically, but I'd be surprised if she hadn't ever done it.
I did not watch him but reported by Terry Lamb on facebook:
Obama says the stars are aligned for health care reform in his news conference.
Elsa, Obama did say that about the stars!
I think it was a subtle reference to his belief in astrology. You could read it two ways: astrology or that he just feels that it's the right time for his health care reform.
whoa.
I wonder what this means for the future of astrology...
It's not a bad time to have one, really, hahaha. I just hope he doesn't get pinpointed for all/any of the stuff supposed to happen for the next few years of his term.
and i wonder why the news hasn't made a bigger deal of it, or interviewed the astrologer yet?
We just know this stuff on the Elsa blog, but we do know it. I mean he has an astrologer around - period. I started this thread when I suspected but now I have this confirmed from ultra reliable source.
I know who it is and the person who told me knows who it is but I am not telling so the person who tells me things continues to tell me things. ;-)
Er... I like secret stuff, remember?
It is a fact, Jilly but don't read anything more into it because the astrologer is not necessarily working in the capacity one could imagine. In other words she could be more like 'entourage", I don't know but I do know she is there and know means know.
I heard Obama say "the stars are aligned" during the broadcast last night too and nearly choked on my vodka! I looked over at my fiance and told him about this blog post and he just smiled.
hey, what about the merc rx and void of course moon on his inauguration?!
that was pretty amazing!

I said so on Facebook... someone asked why.
Answer: His timing and his town hall today right at the New moon was the clincher
