 Alright so! Turns out I had my birth time wrong! I was 45 minutes off... Just enough to make all the difference...

I have some duplicated signs (Leo in the 1st and 2nd, Aquarius in the 7th and 8th), and intercepted signs (no Gemini or Sag). Is this a terrible thing? Am I doomed to a life of not being able to communicate fully or see the "big picture" or laugh at myself or some shit like that? I find this interesting.

Also, does anyone else here have a 12th house Mars? Mine is very close to the 1st house, so does this mean that I have both characteristics or is it mainly expressed in the 1st?

i would say your mars has both characteristics.  the mars energy is breaking through to the 1st house into self-awareness, but it's not fully there... an ex-bf of mine has the same mars placement (same degree as asc., but some minutes(?) off), and even then his public persona exudes a "i'm a blunt and aggressive person" at first sight, but he still wallows in escapism and has many unconscious motives.  it's kinda dual in this case, or something like that.  hope that explains something.  ::shrug::

i don't think i get intercepted signs enough to help with that.  i just briskly looked into it, and i have them too (pisces in the 1st, and virgo in the 7th).  from what i know it just takes time for the power of those signs to come out, and things will be a little skewy for some time.  so you're not "doomed" or anything.  :)
