Is There Ever Justice And Fairness?
posted 7 months ago in General
Fuck no. Our lives are dictated by the richest and most powerful families on the planet. Players on a chess board, manipulated and controlled by the Almighty Dollar.
Did you ever go to court to "fight" a speeding ticket, and opt to pay the $200 fine instead of accumulating points that count toward a suspension of your driver's license? There's your "fairness" at work.
Priorities and agendas are pushed to the front by the people with the most money. End of story.
As far as justice, I think if you want it, you have to take it yourself.
What is fair to the universe may not be fair to us!
Ever?!? Of course (says Libra stellium)! There is justice and fairness in the world, even if we don't often hear about it or see it or whatever. Do I think it exists for me? Not a snowball's chance in hell. *snert*
If you think there is justice in this system you are really living in la la land. Cops in my part of time still do racial profiling, red car and drivers are zeroed in on,,,,, the list goes on.
You are at the mercy of every mood that passes thru a judge, every predjudice that follows those in power, every lying cop.
Hell no there is no cut and dried justice at least not in this country.
IMHO, Universal law metes out justice with terrifying precision.
What goes around comes around. It's going to happen, whether it's in this world or the next - and even if we're not around to see it.
But I see what you're all saying about man-made laws . . .
I voted yes because I want to believe it can be true, but I am sorry to say I have seen it not be true more often......
Depends on one's definition of justice. What is fair to one person may not be fair to another, it's all perception. Perhaps I have a definition of fairness and justice that goes with my ideals, but someone else may have completely different ideals that go with their justice beliefs.
Yes, there are just decisions and happenings in spite of people's intentions. Their intention doesn't always have to be just. Like the scene where Woody Allen runs from the battlefield and initiates a brave charge. The democratic system attempts justice and fairness and is clearly more successful about it than countries such as the Sudan. There are degrees of justice and fairness.
What is fair to the universe may not be fair to us!
Well, the guy in this article feels that he's doing God's work. I guess the universe is smiling on him and his cronies.
I have to agree with dina2's take on it. The rules are clearly different for the privileged, for the richest and most powerful people on the planet. We see that all the time. Maybe I'm too much of a pessimist, but even though I think sometimes there is justice, more often than not there isn't.
"IMHO, Universal law metes out justice with terrifying precision. "
Hoo baby, ain't that the truth.
Ditto Pepermint, I do not want someone else's perception to judge me. Let he without sin cast the first stone, revenge shall be mine so saith the Lord. So yes somewhere, somehow, what ever your after world consists of, there will be fairness.
Sometimes we get a see a glimpse of that promise in this world/lifetime. For me personally it happened like this, I was sexually molested as a young child. What did the universe show me, years later the man was in an accident, guess what? The accident left him sterile and impotent. Thank you higher power. This system of things did nothing to help me or protect me. But it's out there.
So I keep believing in striving for the truth and justice shall be done.
I was a bully in 3rd grade to this girl and I payed for it in highschool when my "friend" was making fun of me.
One day I went home and cried and said, "God, this sucks!"
Then I thought about 3rd grade and suddenly I realized it was fair!
I voted yes--yin and yang and all that. And yes, I've seen both, and experienced both. I also agree with Peppermint...
Toni I was badly bullied in Grade 6, and a few years later, my bully fell in LOOOOOOOVE with my sister:
"Aren't you the same Dave who bullied my sister?" ::::cue the Ice Queen:::: heh heh
PS. Just because you were a bully in Grade 3 doesn't mean you'll pay forever. Just my two bits;)
I think in the big picture, yes, there is justice and fairness. Not all the time, but some of the time. Or, who knows, maybe all the time and I just can't see it from my earthbound perspective.
In terms of laws, well, we do the best we can but as flawed half-apes, our best is not that great.
kashmiri, I'm done paying for it! It ended when Pluto in Sagittarius ended.
good!:)
Yes, Elsa and kash, me too, me too . . .
Because of the OJ trial I used to think that "justice" is for the rich, those who can hire killer 'Dream Teams' of lawyers and walk off scott-free, but look what happened to him a while later when he got a big ol' very public wallop of Universal justice and got sent away for throwing a tantrum over some of his stuff that someone was trying to sell . . . I mean what a thing to lose your head over and he did it to himself.
I think stuff like this happens to ordinary, non-wealthy folks too, who seem to walk away scott-free to live their lives and it looks to us like they are off the hook for what they did or didn't do . . . what we can't see is what it is that they then walk straight INTO! A big ol' web they spun themselves, and there they hang until the spider comes to have a snack.
