Leo says: Let's talk about hair!
posted 2 months ago in General
Okay, I wanted to do this yesterday and didn't get time, so here it is today, right on cue!
I definitely have the Leo mane (and the sun to go with it). *nodnodnod* It's fine but curly and there is TONS of it. It's unruly and impossible to tame, so I just wash it and let it dry, and it is shiny, shiny, bouncy fun!
It may always kinda look like I just got out of bed, but some people really dig that (and, hey, I like people who dig me, so bonus!).
What about you peeps? What's up with your hair, yo?! And do you have a pic?
I have thin hair that's very densly populated. Can't really do anything with them after about a week after I get them cut, I usually just let them dry and take whatever position they want. Sometimes I put on a cap to flatten them out so they're not as puffy-looking, looks strange.
Leo Asc:

(btw, I shaved off the goatee)
OK so I have nothing really going on in Leo - which is my 3rd house. But I have great hair - mostly through genetics and some skill I've acquired in the past 20 years or so of coloring it ![]()
It's waist length, thick, wavy (too long to be curly), and always somewhere between "kind of red" and "coca cola logo red"
Yep. Venus in Leo. Lots of hair. It's pretty long now.... No pic, I'm incognito :)
I'm a Leo sun and sometimes my hair looks fantastic and sometimes it doesn't. I don't know what it is. Either way I almost never put product in it ... it needs all the help it can get. Almost every product I've put in it has sucked the volume right out.
But LEOS, I use Lush shampoo now ... I discovered it a few months ago and I'm in love. My hair definitely looks better now!
I have moon in Leo and my hair is incredibly thick, curly and unruly. It's the bane of my existence, I think.
I have the Pisces (sun) eyes and the Leo (moon) hair. :D

Straightened in this picture, of course.
I'm letting the avatar speak for itself. ![]()
Weird question: has anyone else had their hair change over the years (not just going grey)?
When I was a kid, I had very straight hair except for small, golden blonde ringlets on the end. Once they got cut off, they never came back. Then I hit 17 or so and my hair started to wave, then curl, and now I have a head full of spirals! WTH?
*laughs*
Good question SaDiablo. My hair used to be brunette but straight. In my teens, it darkened and its a deep dark brown under direct sunlight and blueblack indoors. Weird how my hair subtly change its colors. This picture was taken during my bestfriend's son's christening last May 2009.
There's one thing that I'm putting my hair to good use. Sleep naked having my hair spread all over my pillow. Sure does make me feel like a goddess upon waking up. I think we have to let our hair "connect" with our subconscious by letting its texture touch our skin for prolonged periods. It does make me feel good though it's kind of weird.
Sun/Asc in Leo.
"Sleep naked having my hair spread all over my pillow. Sure does make me feel like a goddess upon waking up."
Amen, sistah!! 'Tis the bomb! In fact, that's probably the only reason I miss having hair halfway down my thighs; I certainly don't miss the weight, the headaches, and the hassle. *laughs*
My ex was bald, shaved his head. One night as I was sleeping, I wound my hair around the pillow somehow and the ends started tickling my hand. I woke up enough to ask myself, "Why is Bleh's hair on my pillow?" Which FULLY woke me up when I realized he had no hair. *snert* That was an interesting night... I also pinched the holy hell out of my nipple with the inside of my elbow when I was lying back down! ![]()

Yeah, I got a little leo.
oh yeah notatirem! Gorgeous too
SaDiablo ... I've gotten the hair tangled in a nipple ring. So not fun! And why I wear horseshoes in them now instead of actual rings. *chuckle*
Shannon! OUUUUUCH! *laughs* Oh my cheeze, that makes me glad I never pierced mine when I had the urge... ![]()
We have a lot of people with lovely hair on the boards, maaan. *nodnodnod* Makes me want to take a piccy of mine.
My Leo rejoices! Carry on, all. *snickers*
*chuckle* Oh believe me at that point, you save the jewelry and sacrifice the hair if necessary. Fortunately, it wasn't, and it wasn't too bad once I stopped laughing.
No Leo in my chart but my progressed Ascendant is in Leo!
I'm really proud of the thickness of my hair even though it looks better straightened out! I often get reddish highlights.
Shannon, are you a Gemini? I'm asking because I have known a disproportionate number of Gems who dye their hair red; as in enough to ask anyone I see with dyed red hair "excuse me, are you a Gemini?"
This picture is from last year, but you can clearly see the
and
(
and rising, respectively):

It's very thick, and got a bit more wave in it after I had kids. It used to be straight as a board, and I always moaned that I could never do anything with it. Now I'm glad it is the way it is, and besides bringing out my natural red highlights, I don't mess with it.
Notatirim Wow. That is Leo! Gorgeous!
I have mars in Leo. Scorpio rising. My hair's very fine, wavy and dark. The slieghtest bit of humidity and I get the Snape Effect.
So, yeah, short hair works better on me. ![]()
I'm enjoying this now. I'd say I consider my hair my biggest accesory EVER. It's like a cape that's flowing behind me as I zoom in and out of the office. Nobody noticed my clothes or shoes or the jewelries...it's the hair and whether I wore it bound or loose. And of course, nodding and saying no means the head and so that hair goes with that. Just a little quick flip of the hair as I go in and out of the car.
I get mesmerized looks and it's not the car nor the face....it's the hair. I love the attention alright.
And I know YOU are all GUILTY of this small pleasure!![]()
Ok... I'm incognito myself so I'm not posting any pictures.
Mars in Leo is my chart ruler so I DEFINITELY am hair-conscious but like a typical double Aries (sun and Asc), I can't be bothered with styling my hair.
During my teenage years up until I was about 27, my hairstyles mainly consisted of long shiny black hair, a slick black chin-length bob, or a choppy layered cut, normally coloured with reddish brown or purple-brown haircolour. I would say it was a bit conservative. I never had bangs because I hated bangs.
Close to the onset of my Saturn Return when I was 27, I did something unusual. I got BANGS. My hair stayed long and black with bangs.. Then it got long, black and choppy with bangs (one of my favourite hairstyles, ever). I started wanting to take care of my hair and maintain my hair more but I have grown more and more annoyed of long hair. After my 28th birthday, I chopped 8 inches off my glorious long black hair into a very choppy textured bob. I loved it. A few months later, I had it coloured with fire engine red streaks. Still, a bob was still too much to maintain for me. I wanted to LOOK good all the time but I can't be bothered with hair. Aries women have zero patience for that...
... And then just before my 29th birthday, I decided to chop the rest of my hair off and have a pixie cut. The cut is the BEST cut ever because I don't have to maintain my hair and it looks amazing no matter what. I also did this because I started pursuing a part time career as a makeup artist and would rather spend more time on makeup than hair. In a way, I am my own walking portfolio.
And this satisfies my Leo-style vanity :) I believe Annalisa or Elsa once said that Leos either have a lot of hair or almost none at all... I'm one of the latter. :)
I want to remain incognito also, but I have Moon in Leo and yes, I do care about my hair!
@ notatirem why yes, yes I am!! (sun and rising)
And I tend to go really bright or dark, sometimes with bits of other colors and stuff too. I'm putting black streaks in mine today.
goddess, you should post some of your pics! I like your hair!
I have Moon in Leo. Up until the age of 19, I disliked my hair and permed the heck out of it. Those were the 80s.
Then, the 90s happened! Straight hair was acceptable again!
Now I love my hair. Long, bone-straight, shiny-penny-brown, lots of natural shine. I have a lot of it, but it's fine like corn silk, which is both good and bad. I have to keep it scrupulously clean to keep body in it.
Word of wisdom: don't fight your hair, and it will serve you well.

The symbol for Leo kind of looks like a head of hair, doesn't it....
...something comes to mind...
I do like my man hairy! LOL
Persian Cat: DITTO!!!! :D
Funny stuff!!
Do you have moments of "HON! You're rolling over on my hair!", and that ruins the MOOD bigtime? ![]()
I think it's also worth mentioning that I am a walking "salon consultant". LOL. Though I rarely go to the salon to have my hair done.
I'm just obssessed with hair, I can't stop giving a hairpiece of advice whether solicited or not. I even apply hot oil treatment on my little girls as soon as they cross one year old.
At some point, I ALMOST invested in a hair salon myself. Funny how I get to assimilate all these things today. LOL.
One of these days I will get around to posting a picture..but anyway, I'm Gemini Sun and Leo Moon and I have naturally red curly hair that I a)straighten for work but wear curly on weekends and b)touch up with highlights here and there. So, Notatirem you may be on to something there.
Except for a strange period around my Saturn Return, I have never not liked my hair.
i has leo but it's saturn (in a tangly mess of aspects) and my hair doesn't like being told what to do... crazy curls like puffing out into a frizz bomb and the hair on my neck is almost straight (what?)
My old roommates girlfriend is a gemini and she dies her hair red despite having natural red hair. Its seems absurdly redundant to me. She says "I like it to be really red." Im like, its already "REALLY" red. Sigh.
Yeah but ... I mean ... I go almost cartoonish on mine. There's red ... then there's HELLO WORLD I HAVE RED HAIR red.
Yanno?
I have nothing in Leo but latent tendencies in the 4th house. (Double Aquarius, har har.) I more or less went from having a shaved head to this following college.

YES...I have Leo rising, when I was in my teens...my loooong, blond, thick hear was my pride, its thick now to, my hear has its own life
Nice!
