I don't notice scorpios I feel them when they're around. LOL that sounded like I'm talking about ghosts. What I mean is that they're the sign that I don't have to communicate with, communication just happens whenever we are around. The second thing I notice is the strenght of conviction they have, a lot of black and white views on subjects. Oh and third how can I forget to mention the obvious. They are sexy no mather what they look like (it's not fair).

All Scorpios I know..  dont smoke and ,dont drink alcohol often(or never) ..! But then maybe its a coincedence..

I didn't notice this, it was something Elsa said about Scorpio, but since reading it I have found it to be so true and it's made me love all the Scorpios in my life even more.  (And notice them more - how is it they manage to seem undercover even when they're all around you?)  They always check on you!  Most supportive group of people ever.  I have fantastic relationships with Scorpios.  I only have one acquaintance with Scorpio who would probably rather murder me, but hey, not everyone uses their powers for good, not evil.

ha ha mm that's odd! i'm trying to think of someone i know with scorpio who doesn't smoke! 

i do know some scorpio non-drinkers, however. maybe it's an all or nothing, thing. which brings me to the all-or-nothing observation i see in scorpio

My ex has a older brother who died many years ago. I never met this brother. A few years ago we were looking at old photos, and a picture of my ex's brother was among them. I immediately noticed his eyes and wondered if he was Scorp rising (I already knew the brother was a Cap). So I asked my ex if he could get the birth data, which he did from his mom. I also asked my ex's other brother and his wife, "Did John have intense eyes? His eyes look so intense in this photo." And they both replied, "Yes!"

Sure enough, after running the chart he came up Scorp rising. Scorp suns and Scorp risings always seem to have that, I've found. I've even noticed it to a lesser extent with Scorp moons.

And that's a good thing, since Scorpios can move around without drawing any attention to themselves, much like ninjas. My Scorpio stellium (Sun,Venus,Mercury) father can enter a room without making the slightest sound. He would have freaked me out as a kid if I hadn't noticed his presence  otherwise. I also notice this with my SO's nephew, who has Scorpio rising (an intense Scorpio gaze at 7, he is also a Cappy Sun, so he can be pretty scaringly otherworldly....), and a Scorpio Moon  (I suspect Scorpio rising too, he really could kill people with his eyes) colleague.

I haven't really thought about what I notice in Scorpios, since I am one. LOL. Of course I think Scorpio individuals portray certain "Scorpio" characteristics more than others. I will reveal (though I don't like revealing-hahaha) I hate having my picture taken. I want to know everything about everybody-and I don't do it by asking, I do it by watching and listening. Definitely the intensity, the sexiness, and the eyes.  I think it's more than a stare.  Scorps have a way of laying you bare with their eyes when they are truly interested in what they are looking at.

chrispito and mmarianna - The Scorpio has three different glyphs - the scorpion, the grey lizard and the bald eagle.  It is said that these three glyphs represent the three different degrees of a Scorpio personality.

The Scorpion is the darkest of these.  Many true scorpions are addicts of some kind, whether its smoking, drinkings, drugs, sex, or all of the above!  They are vengeful, deceitful, and dangerous in many cases.  They usually live part of their lives 'on the other side of the law'.

The Grey Lizard is truly the middle ground.  They may meddle in a lot of 'stuff' but it never controls their life as a addiction.  They can have the baser tendencies of the Scorpion and the higher ideals of the Eagle.  These are probably the majority of the Scorps we all know.

The Bald Eagle is a tee-totaler.  They don't drink, smoke or do drugs.  Their ideas about sex tend toward being chaste.  They are usually very religious people.  They are noble and true and rarely exhibit the baser personality traits of the Scorpion.  That's not to say that they cannot....they just usually don't....or don't get caught.   One famous Scorp who did get caught?  Billy Graham.

I find them to just be fascinating because they are so private.  You're always going to wonder where they're going, what they're doing, who they're with... Just anything.  Usually they won't tell you, either, unless they trust you.  I have a Scorpio little brother who kept a major, major, major secret from all of us (not one clue) for a good 7 months until a detective came knocking at the door.  Dad has a Scorpio Moon (Leo Sun) and he is very, very, observant and powerful.  But kind.  I've got a Scorpio stellium (Mars, Pluto, Mercury) myself so I can understand their power and how immensely strong a Scorpio can be.

I'm quiet (12th house Mercury) and my mom always says things like "You scared the shit out of me I didn't even hear/see you walk in... You just kind of flash by...) hahah. Sounds about right.  I don't try to "sneak up" on people, just so happens that way.  I'm Sag rising though, so I can be kinda clumsy sometimes. :)

They are usually very loyal (I'm loyal to the bone, 5th house Taurus Moon) and they do truly care about those who have proved to be cared about.  If not, you can forget it... Because they will be done with you, and fast.  I also watch and listen much more than I talk or do.  But I'm a woman of my word, if I say it, I mean it.  That's just me :)

Well, i would say that simply because a scorpio sun dabbles in alcohol from time to time it doesn't make them any less of an eagle, or any more a grey lizard as one might call it- especially if they've other things in place. There are more important things, such as integrity, compassion, and intelligence that I feel would truly be relevant to describe an Eagle, or a dove... even the Phoenix. It seems like factoring alcohol into the framework would be more circumstancial/societal rather than reflecting on the character of one's spirit, one's soul. People are human afterall, eagles notwithstanding. ;)

Regarding smoking and drinking, I've been mostly around Scorpios leading healthier than averahge lifestyles: My Scorpio father smoked a pack of sigarettes at 6, and that was it. Vomiting his lungs out stopped him from trying ever again. He also used to be very moderate with the alcohol when he was younger - I only saw him drunk once before I was well into my teenage years. But he does appreciates his beer and whisky. My ex-brother-in-law hasn't smoked either - his father and brother (my ex) were hooked by the time they were 14 -, and was generally speaking leading a healthy life in his musician years too. My Scorpio rising little brother wouldn't even have a class of bubbly for his 18th birthday (when he could have drank legally) or graduation.

The one Sun Scorpio I know with bad habits is my uncle (married to an aunt, really). He likes his alcohol and sigarettes. However, the thing about him is that he can go without them for longest time, then consume enormous amounts, and still be relatively lucid. I'd still put him to the Eagle cathegory, he and my Pisces aunt are the coolest couple ever, and have raised amazing children together.

Your father's experience with cigarettes kind of reminds me of mine.  I DID smoke cigarettes--one day.  And ONLY one day.  I went to a bowling alley with a friend of mine, and we played pool for 6 hours, burning through a pack of cigarettes while we played.  That was it.  I didn't care to do that again.  I didn't see any point to it. I tried it, didn't like it, discarded it.  Simple as that.

I'm only just starting to pay attention to the Scorpio side of me. (Moon & Rising) I've always known the power of my eyes, but never knew where it was coming from.  I've always been able to learn a person's life history (even very personal parts) without asking a question. My husband says it's because I look people directly in the eyes, making them feel that I'm hanging on every word (which isn't always the case and he knows it).

On the other hand, people 'think' they know me very well, because I'm quite social and talk alot about my life experiences (I love to tell stories), but they don't seem to notice the details that I leave out... like my feelings.  The truth is, my friends know alot about my life/lives, but they really don't know 'who' I am.

I've never been known to sneak up and surprise people... but, people are constantly startling me... I don't know if this is a Scorpio influence or not, but I can be so obsorbed that I can block everything else out.

Oh, and I smoke and drink.

I'm a Scorpio and can relate to a lot of what you guys are saying. When I was younger my aunt said the way I looked at people was like I was looking into their soul. It used to freak her out. To me, I was just looking at them. I always seem to scare my husband and daughter (not intentional). They say I just "appear". I am not a big drinker at all and I don't smoke. I was always tall, thin and curvy. Now, I'm tall and curvy, but not so thin. (Working on it though). I do think I am original, but I definitely can take someone else's idea and build upon it. I can be intense and I always have to know the who, what, when, where, and why about a person or situation. 

CArRiE -- I'm like you. I like being social, enjoy talking (although when I feel like I've talked for too long I shut down), and love to tell stories, but you made me realize I don't verbalize my feelings when I tell them. So I feel like other than my husband and a few close friends, no one really knows me. 

All in all, I really enjoy being a Scorpio.

An ex-girlfriend tried to claw my eyes out when I was going down on her 'cause she said my eyes looked scary...  Bugger, it ruined the mood!  

I am a Scorpio, with a ridiculous number of Scorps in my life, and the only common denominator seems to be privacy. We always have something hidden in our pockets, whether to save face or serve as future ammunition. Ugh.

Here's a interesting Astro facto: Virgo and Scorpio used to be one sign before they were split by Libra. I know a Virgo guy who is built like Calvin Klein (photo in the Blog), has a very dracula like intense look about him (his eyes change from dark blue to green) and is cryptic for fun. He wears a bat belt, fills his house with old coffins on the front porch, has a hangman's noose in his basement that he crafted himself, wears black almost all the time, smokes, eats toxic junk food all the time, dresses like dracula every year to give out candy, his favorite author is Edgar Allen Poe, and can talk just like Bela Lagosi.; He drives a hearse at work and his car has little stuffed bats hanging from the windows in the back seat. Is that Scorpio or what? Swoon!..lol

Some of these comments above on this post make me blush and feel transparent. I am going away now.....

And just to add onto this about the sexuality aspect of it all... I'm just now really truly realizing that I do seem to give off an intensely sexual vibe in whatever I do.  Although I hardly ever actively try to be sexy, I hear it many times that I "just am."  This was so incredibly confusing to me for the longest time, hell I look like I'm 15 but I'm really 22.  I even sound very young.  But I guess people (men mainly, and a couple of women have hit on me haha) just sense something.  Sometimes I like to play mind games, just to see how far I can tip a guy over the edge without doing anything. It's just funny to watch them squirm.  :)  Scorpio, sexual mind games.  Wait, haha that's my Scorpio Mercury.  But anyways, Neptune in my 1st house has obviously clouded my perception of me and I feel like I have this sexual power and have no idea what to do with it.  Probably because it's also opposite my moon (Taurus which is highly sensual in itself... Another story for another day) and conjunct my Scorpio Pluto. 

I'm like... What?  What does this mean?  Why do men always seem to stare at me like they want to devour me?  I mean they literally have a predatory look in their eyes at times.  It can be quite disturbing for someone like me who is rather shy (12th house Sun) and likes to stay low key.  But then sometimes I embrace the whole sexy thing and just go all out.  Hahah. I don't know :) Whatever!

You're right about the picture comment.  I can't stand having my picture taken.  I always come out looking like a cadaver. 

When I had my good Leo friend take professional photos of me (in the hopes of putting something on a book-jacket if I get published) I was never happy with what I saw.  She took this as if I was criticizing her work, but I repeatedly told her the photography was great but the subject (me) sucked.

What I've been noticing lately is their noses: all the Scorps or Scorp-risings I know have distinctive, Roman/patrician noses.  Unless, of course, they've been broken repeatedly.  But even then they're distinctive! 

hehehe, they do tend to have a big schnauze.  Its the eagles beak. 

Also, they often get pigeonholed as the villain. 

Just look at Plushenko (as an example of both points.) Everyone thinks hes this bad guy, evil on ice type.

Meanwhile Lysacek is dressed up like The Crow and a Romulin had a baby on an oil slick, and no one bats an eye, cause hes a Gemini and thats fun.

Personally I have a very strong bond with scorpios ( maybe because of my 8th house sun,nn and pluto, scorpio MC,Venus and Uranus, or this virgo-scorpio ancient unity, who knows). I have so many of them in my life! My mother, grandmother, one of the greatest friends and even my dogs (yes, both) . I just enjoy being with them.I appreciate the emotional bonding.

They are loyal. If they love you they will go side by side with yoou no matter what.

They endure.Their life force is something uncomparable.

They have this knowledge of the old souls, I guess.

They are proud, but not in a regal way like sagg or in a ethereal neptunian way. They have a strong presence. Some interior authority.

They are prone to long silences.

 They are masters of saying without talking.
