Living with Granny
posted 3 months ago in Family
This sounds good. I'm hoping this works well for you, and your Gran.
Are you going to start schooling this fall? Our local Red Cross posted their EMT certification training course. I'd never thought of them for the training. Of course, I don't know if this is still your area of interest. Having the classes would help with Gran, just thinking here.
The important question: Do you get internet so you can talk to us???
@SE, internet access was non-negotiable on my end. ;D I neeeeeds it! I said. Okay, said aunts. *grins* Was talking to two EMTs over the weekend and they recommended the local RESA program, but said it was hard to get into (lots of competition for the slots) so may take some time and grease, but I'm definitely heading in that direction!
OH AND DID I MENTION??? You guys, I'll has a pinano (that's piano in GenSpeak), which means I can restart lessons. *SHINE*
Great stuff! - and so much better than going out to work ![]()
At least when she drives you mad, and she will sometimes, there's only one of her - and you're in charge ;)
How's your Grams approaching the arrangement? Have you two spent much one on one time over the last weeks visiting and talking about how it's gonna be?
Is she excited? How's she doing on the weight gain and other benchmarks that will enable her to return home?

Over on the other thread I mentioned that this is definitely going to happen. I've spent two days, with the help of my aunts, cleaning the rooms that are to be mine and setting up things like plumbers and electricians.
Here's the scoop:
I'm getting a monthly stipend for expenses, can come and go as I want. I get to take over the back part of the house, to do with pretty much as I please. Aunts will pay for my schooling if/when I go back and are buying (!) me a car. O_O Terms renegotiated after 6 months or as need be (like if Gran's health deteriorates to where she needs nursing care).
Honestly? I'm gettin' a good deal, y'all. Win-win so far. *pleased smile*
Gran will be coming home no earlier than the first week of March, barring wrenches thrown by her assisted living community. Fingers crossed! :)
