Thank you opal, that is so beautiful! I just got done ranting so I am grateful for the positive side of Saturn in Libra being highlighted. I may post that on my facebook! Lovely, lovely. (Do you think that poem may have inspired the title of The Lovely Bones?)
Hi Jessica, I don't know, I haven't read The Lovely Bones. I think it's quite a recent poem, he's a contemporary poet. BTW I totally agreed with your rant!
I'm resurrecting this one, because the responses to Elsa's post about raw male energy and the kind of man you want, made me wonder about just what women think a manly man is.
To me, only a very manly man could be inspired enough by a woman's femininity to write something like this, and I don't associate pure masculinity with sports, fast cars, and violence. I think the lower aspects of it might be, but not the higher.
Well, whatever, I find it inspiring and warming and it's nearly Valentines Day!

OK, there has been so much doom and gloom recently, and it's pouring with rain outside, I can't stand it any more - Libra is about love, and Saturn is about commitment and I found this poem last week just as Saturn changed signs. It's by a welsh poet called John Idris Jones and he wrote it for his wife who he's been married to for years.
My Love
I know a woman, lovely in her bones,
who takes my life as on a cloud
who takes my weight and lightens it
and takes my breath to ease around herself.
I know a woman, lovely in her bones
who when she smiles, the earth smiles back at her
who leaves no shadow in the half-sun day
and spins the clock to end a cheerful week.
I know a woman, lovely in her bones
who is the guardian of our being
who sings the song that binds us
and leaves each day a better time to be.
I know a woman, lovely in her bones
who shares a fate and flesh with me
who gives, unknown, a different kind of state
and takes my love with easy discipline.
I know a woman, lovely in her bones
who answers not a single mystery;
it baffles me how mind and body knit
a garment of such binding constancy.
I know a woman, lovely in her bones
who 'till my death shall stay upon my soul.
Anyone else?
