Making a Home for Pisces and Neptune?
posted 7 months ago in Creativity
The only way that I can tackle a housekeeping job is by working quickly, without stopping, and stuffing my Pisces & Neptune distractedness firmly away until the job is done... Putting the focus on making whatever it is really shine (if it can become shiny, that is).
I've also learned to give a little wipe or sweep here and there as I go rather than wait for major, periodic, back-breaking clean-ups like I used to. There's still a tendency for me to ignore housework, but I can catch myself doing that now before things get too bad (-when I lived alone ten years ago, though - Whooo... Whole other story!).
1) trick yourself into getting started. Say "I'll just do this one thing" & you might pick up speed.
2) don't beat yourself up over the mess ALL the time because it becomes too huge to deal with & you will just ignore/ resent/ rebel against it.
3) reward yourself!!! "If I get through a, b & c, I'll give myself, I'll do..."
4) think about redecorating something (this works the most for me!) I'll clean the room & then I'll rearrange the room, swap accent colours (cushions/ curtains/ vases/ rug?) course, this only works when you have some spare cashola.
5) Invite people over next Friday- THAT oughta get your ass in gear =D
6) DO NOT stop, once you've started because that'll be the end of it again. Keep going... keep GOING!!!
if I think of anything else, I'll come back... Good Luck!!!
ouuu... & BEST of all is getting really, REALLY grubby & thinking about the LONG bath/ shower at the end of it. How could I have forgotten THAT?? ;)
um & write a list... of every small task, because ticking stuff off is a most excellent feeling indeed!
&! Do the worst tasks/ shitty stuff first- get it out of the way, so as you go it gets "easier".
I have virgo on the fourth house cusp..not helpin me with cleaning. At work , I'm super organized at home it's a mess.
I think the key is too have a minimalistic home. 2 cups , 2 plates...1 pot , 2 towels ect.
For neptune..maybe music can help...activating music.
"as if i can shame them into being clean"
a look from my own face...
virgo sun.. one way or the other. both of my parents are virgo. my father is precisely neat and meticulous, my mother a self loathing packrat who hasn't seen the bottom of the barrel in years. virgo has the possibility of being both. but then, i do know that i clean best when the moon is in virgo. still.. i have to be in the mood. a good cleaning spree usually involves a nice heady pot and some caffeine. you relaly do have to take advantage of that perfect moment. get it wrong and the mess just seems to spread. time it right, and even the dust particles will flee in terror.
i loathe cleaning. primarily because it has to be done again and again and again. it's like: didn't i just do this, for crying out loud? i echo mckenna's advice. you sorta have to trick yourself. or makes deals with yourself. or set yourself up so you have no choice ie: having people over.
but my biggest motivation is how i know i feel feel after it's done. it feels SO good. but the trick is getting there. so see above.
it's a terrifying loop.
@iathina you gave me an *AHA* moment..
I have Neptune in 1st house and its like I MUST have music on in order to really clean up or else I just move things around aimlessly... also jumping around and singing along helps my Sag AsC get in the grove and keeps my Gem ADD in check by considering it as "multitasking" ![]()
Yeah @Michele... it's the repetition & "fruitlessness" that's the bummer eh? Gotta be done again & again & AGAIN... ouf! That's why making changes a long the way is good. If I cn't do that, in at least one room? I could wallow for months. Or is it wollow? Hmm... nah... wallow!? Whatever!
lol - thank you all for the good tips. it's nice to know there are others who don't exactly revel in being june cleaver. my ex had mars in cancer and loved LOVED cleaning. i will try these out and let you know how it goes. today is sunday and after my son's football game i will put on some music, write a realistic list, and get to it!
I love McKenna's advice, she knows what's up !
@dorchid -- You're fighting an uphill battle, Sistah ! I do empathise with you, though. I say 'battle', because I have not met ONE Pisces female -- my own daughter included -- who was o.k. with housekeeping, the challenge is one of your natal 'blessings'. It's hard. With one friend, I had to decide if I was in the mood to clean, because I'd offer to help her or just do it; or well enough to (due allergies), in order to visit her. On top of that, she had a female cat who would take revenge by soiling the furniture, because the litterboxes were always in deplorable condition. It made for a stinky house, for sure.
I have a 1st house stellium in Virgo, AND a grand trine in Water, so I vascillate between perfect and orderly; and letting the dust or clutter get out of hand. One thing though, I do have pets, and you'd never know it until one of them comes out to see who's visiting me; and there is NEVER disorder or rotting things in my fridge. Gotta have boundaries, yanno ?
I wish I could come over and help you, but I'll keep you in my thoughts. Good luck !
I love to clean house. Which is odd given what should be a lazy Libra stellium and all my neptune (conj MC, pisces moon 1st house squaring). I do have venus in virgo, but I think it is more of a Saturn in 4 thing. I love to care for my home. It grounds me. I NEED grounding. What I DO NOT love is messy gross people. IE..teenagers who hear my wrath when they are being overly gross boys. I do love to care for my home. I do not love it when others do not show it the same respect. Hmmm..that venus in virgo squares that saturn so that could be why that plays out in regard to housekeeping come to think of it.
I do not find comfort in chaos. What I find comfort in is making order out of chaos. As I clean each room I light a candle behind me that kind of seals the deal. When I'm finished with the last room and come out to a home filled with candles..aaahh...
Like Spacerockz... Music blasting is a real motivator for me too. Pisces rules my 4th, which is even where my Mars lives, so I can sure sympathize with you Dorchid. I'm liking McKenna's list of suggestions and think I'll borrow a few of those great tips!
Maybe tomorrow... ;-)
Wow. That's what it is then. Hi dorchid- I have the same problem myself and I have been wondering about this very thing. Lately I have taken throwing all the mess into one room, but now a second mess has started in my kitchen.
I Have neptune in the 4th house in scorpio - and I need help with this very topic myself.
My 12th house Mars trine 4th house Neptune has trouble with this motivation thing ALL THE TIME.
Start with an invocation to Ganesha, then lie face down on your prayer mat and fall asleep. Fantasize about rearranging the room to maximize feng shui potential. Call someone you think you can trust and cry about it. Make plans to get coffee. See what happens.
Here is some funny advice, I have Libra so I need some one to "help" me to tidy up. And once they do, my 1st house Cap Venus trines 9th house Virgo Mars takes over for not doing it right!
LOL!
Or.. Call someone over, and that will make you tidy and clean up REAL quick.
Pisces sun/Virgo moon here. Listening to music is essential. Also, books on tape or movies. You need to mentally escape/daydream while your virgo parts are busy getting little tasks done. Obviously, don't daydream if you're up on a ladder, but you'd be surprised at how many tasks don't require you to mentally be there. Tell yourself a story while you clean, or let someone else do it via a book on tape. Also, maybe something kind of tasty to sip? ;-)
Natal Neptune tightly conjunct IC on Sagittarius
My room is a messy adventure, behind that desk is a hole new World.
I do clean it... every once in a while. Like last thursday! right now i feel like im not in my room, as it looks so clean.
I think things will get better as its Transit is 9º's of my DC doorway... well maybe things get a lot worst while it opposes my AC, so that than they actually get better.
lol i love where this is going. all great tips, thank you everyone! i did manage to do laundry and clean my kitchen and will continue tonight. i know it's not environmentally friendly but i like leaving the tap water running and just hearing it as i work.

I am a terrible housekeeper. My 10th house Virgo Sun is all tidy at work, but at home I just give my dirty dishes the evil-eye as if I can shame them into being clean :) I need an orderly, peaceful home, and yet I feel stuck - listless, unmotivated, discouraged by the endless repetition of chores.
I have Pisces intercepted in my 4th house. Neptune is transiting over my IC. Natal Neptune in my 1st house Sagittarius. I think I need to attend to Neptune to resolve this. I want my home to be a place where I can escape the outside world, be restored, feel at peace.
How would a Pisces / Neptune type approach housekeeping? Are you just comfortable with the chaos? Or do you have some nifty sleight-of-hand to teach Virgo?
