Is it possible to be married to your best friend and still have a passionate sexual element to the relationship?  or does this really depend on the two people involved?

sure you can. We are not in a relationship anymore, but we lived together for 5years, were married for 10, and had hot hot sex. We had been close friends since we were teenagers, and were absolute best friends for the whole 15 year ride. When you have a spark, you have a spark.

Now it's over, but it absolutely can happen.

but, I'm sure it also depends on the people involved! We gave each other lots of space, and that space, that freedom to see each other as independent people is part of what makes it sexy.

If my partner was NOT my best friend... I wouldn't be able to be in a relationship with them at ALL.

    So my answer is yes.

I would say yes, definitely, but it does take work.  Any relationship that makes it past the "OMG, you have <body part>! Let's do it!" phase takes work, though, so I don't think it's any harder than a relationship with someone you weren't friends with before (and in some areas it's much, much less work).

However, I have to say that there are a lot of people I know who would disagree, including the best friend I married.  So there you are.

People with Uranus associated with Venus marry their best friend almost as a matter of routine.

Interesting topic -- seems like best of both worlds..... As Uranus leaves my 7th for my 8th, I am wondering what's next.

My relationship that is on the way out though..... he is my best friend, or one of my best friends... but the other part isn't working, but not for the usual reasons. Uranus in 7th: was experiimental/unconventional relationship --

But anyway, Chami, I think it is quite possible. Why not?? What does Chami think?

Well what Elsa said is very interesting to me, since my Venus is directly conjunct my Uranus natally, and they both closely conjunct my husband's Uranus.  He is most definitely my best friend, and sex has been a huge part of our relationship from day one.

But I would imagine other's have different needs, hence different kind of relationships, but ones that work for them.

Venus (Pisces) trine Uranus (Sadge). But Venus is also conjunct Mars in Aries, which is....I don't know what. AND Square Neptune. :/

OH MY GOD the more I think about it the more I think this means bad stuff!!!!

    Interesting question.

I don't know the answer, I think it is an ongoing quest for me.  For me individual freedom is more important than passion in a relationship, friendship, or marriage.  So I sublimate passion to freedom as a matter of course. I found more freedom with a wife who is my best friend rather than the girls who turned me on the most in the past.  No passion lasts.  It's all cyclical.  My experience is that extreme passion, which I have both been on the giving and receiving end -ends by crashing.  However, freedom is something I have succeeded at growing and cultivating and the overall pleasure of increasing freedom is even greater than any temporary passion, though it does not "spike" as high.  What I mean by freedom is the ability to craft my own reality, not be subject to anyone else's opinion or thought form as a guiding wave or be subject to it in any realm:  work, play, or home life. I am living more and more within the reality I prefer, and the truths that I recognize.
