Medicine/Doctors in the natal chart
posted 10 months ago in General
All I know is the 6th house has to do with health - 8th house of course death. My sixth is Aries - being sick pisses me off and I fight it tooth and nail. My sister and I try to participate in breast cancer walks (the disease runs in our family) - most everyone wears the pink shirts with the ribbon - my sister somehow found these pink shirts that said "F--- Breast Cancer" - no-one was insulted, we got alot of thumbs up! That's the way I feel about illness in general
I would wear that T-shirt or even just "F--- Cancer"!
I discovered recently I have a fertility issue, and I am assuming this has popped up because of all the recent transits (Saturn, Mercury Rx) in my 5th house right now (procreation). I sure wish i had a little dose of creativity instead. :)
This is like asking am I a good lover, am I a great artist, or will I be successful, or marry welll.
Yeah, 8th and 6th house can show something about a person's tendency toward health realated matters. I think of 8th as surgeon and medical researcher and 6th nurse and health practitioner. But aspects can also reveal tendencies towards the medical profession. and talents. And it really depends on what kind of "medicine" we're talking about.
Each and every one of us has our own unique "medicine" in the native american "philosophy". I still dont know what mine is.
I have a nephew who is a sun sag and a doctor. to me that just doesnt go together.
I know a chiropractor who is capricorn sun (which works because it rules the bones) but he has the amazing ability to heal just with his hands, his words and his subtle energies.
I know a nurse who is an aries sun with mars in pisces.
My mom is an aquarius sun, and she is the most nurturing caring loving healer-- great massages, cooks the right food for the sick, speaks rainbows of love,
I mean who knows...
sorry for my tangent..
I've always related Virgo MC with medical practioners. I've known a nurse, a neonatalogist, and a respiratory therapist with this placement. Never knew any others well enough to find out birth time. *shrugs*
As for personal health, I look to the 6th/Virgo. I agree that the fertility thing could definitely be a Saturn in 5th issue, though.
notarirem, LOL!
I didn't formulate my question all that well...but I'm not sure if what I'm asking really exists anyhow. I'm not necessarily interested in professions, more like matters of health related to both the person in the natal chart and the people around them.
For example, myself, my SO, his mother, my parents...we're all dealing with medical matters currently, and I thought that this flurry of activity might somehow be indicated in the chart, perhaps through transit though more likely. Could be Pluto transiting through my 8th, hm.
I think that it's probably best if I look at our individual charts, since that would probably indicate our seperate issues more notably, like the 5th house fertility thing in my own chart.
I know one woman with pluto in the 6th. I feel she's died many times and come back - severe health issues, including brain cancer. I think where pluto is.... is where we die and come back, regenerate. In a plutonian way. Where pluto is... is where we'll have the mark of death somehow.
But I agree -- 6th house placements surely could be mark of medicine people/docs/healers
I have Saturn/Jupiter in the 5th and a heavily aspected 3rd house Cancer moon (every planet other than Venus touches it in one way or another). Perhaps the 6th Pluto square to my Moon is another hint at that fertility thing. Whoa. That was like a lightbulb.
Saturn jupiter - I will have that by transit when saturn is in libra. What an odd combo of energies (in my opinion). Like: will you grow? Or will you feel flattened...
Charts have themes as u know. No doubt ur issues with fertility/"womanhood"/creativity (literally) show up a few times in ur natal chart. Feeling restricted when u want to EXPAND (literally)
I have the same Saturn/Jupiter conjunction in the 5th in my natal chart and while Saturn has been in Virgo, I have been working like a dog....long hours and stressful, or rather, mind intense work (interpreter in a court), and have felt this imposed on me somehow and definitely restricted my more creative side and in the last couple of weeks, my job has just crumbled to just working the morning hours and this is set.
So, this afternoon, I went to speak to an art teacher at a local Arts Center about signing up for her class and she told me her class had been cancelled due to no students signing up for this term. First time in 18 years that she has been teaching this continueing Art class. I then asked her if she would be interested in doing one-on-one classes with me. She jumped at it and gave me an incredibly reasonable price. Incredibly reasonable.....I could not believe it! I am so thrilled at this moment and cannot wait for my first class next week. I know this post has nothing to do with medicine, but I was thinking that this was the medicine my soul has been calling for and while Saturn had me restricted.....Jupiter just jumped in and expanded my desire for more creativity in my life.
Denamaria! You're back. I missed you around here.
Who said about capricorn and chiropractic healing? Is it applicable to cappy moons? I know how to break...er crack people's bones too. ![]()
Interests in shiatsu, reflexology and chiropractic healing is definitely there.
(the avatar is an image of Carl Brashear jogging with prosthetics left leg, the first black american to join the US Navy. He's amazing and he reminds me of Pluto conj Saturn and the rewards thereafter.)
@ Persian_Cat, thanks for telling us your current avatar is Carl Brashear. I didn't hear of Brashear's story until the movie came out, Men of Honor. AND I was born and grew up in the same Kentucky town as where Brashear lived as a boy. When I told my mother about the movie, she remembered Carl and his family. She remembered "Carl Maxie" had gone into the service "somewhere." My parents had a grocery store and the Brashears were customers that paid their tab when the crops came in. The store and town were nothing like the movie portrayal. Mom remembered Carl's wife Junetta lived with his parents. The Brashears were tenant farmers for an old maid school teacher that had inherited her farm. Sorry for the tangent, but you stirred some memories.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_BrashearYes, sixth house for medical issues, medical careers. As for Capricorn, I'm a Cap with some bone spur issues.
@ Persian_Cat. You made a good call on the Pluto Saturn for Carl Brashear. He has Cancer Pluto opposed Capricorn Saturn. Also a solar Cap. Mercury in Cap. If he was born early in the day, he may have a Cap moon. Jupiter in Cancer conjunct Pluto. With all the Cap, we see his drive for success against obstacles.
@Dorothy - I also have 6th house Aries - I noticed before we have other planets in common, like Leo Sun, Scorp Moon and maybe Scorp Asc. too? Interesting.
I have a whole 'nuther reaction to being sick, tho - I don't get mad, I turn into a big old baby and want someone to fuss around and bring me hot tea and stuff. ![]()
I've seen Mars conj Venus in Virgo in 5th (btw, I think this conjunction in the 6th house is what Lilly considers indications of a good physician), Jupiter and Neptune in 6th. Also, a different chart w/ Pluto in 6th conj DC, Saturn and Mars conj on the other side in 7th. She doesn't have a chronic illness but ALWAYS catches the flu.
These doctors are trained in the modern/Western tradition.
I have a stellium in the sixth house (Sagittarius=Sun, Moon, Mercury and Capricorn=Saturn, Neptune, Uranus). I'm studying to become a neuropsychiatrist.
So am I, it's the only thing I am completely passionate about. I was planning on doing neuropsychology, but I feel that I will have more opportunities if I become a medical doctor.

Is there a spot in the natal chart which indicates medical business? I'm just curious if there might be a house that is associated with medical activity...
