Mercury Rx Stories November 2012
posted 6 months ago in General
Mercury goes retro tomorrow so it's a bit early but my wonderful boyfriend decided to write me a letter but he sent it in the mail. FRUSTRATING for my Gemini. I wanna get it now now now. I'm worried he didn't know my address because he said he found it because 1)He's a Pisces Rising 2) He doesn't know my address and he says he found it, but again he's not exact a focused person.
Now I'm afraid it's lost in the mail out there and I will never get a chance to read it. Grrrrafjd. What's so hard about handing it to me and telling me to read it later anyway?!
It's in town mail so surely it can't take more that 3 days, right? No!
Also teachers said they would grade and post up our scores and they are still not up!
Gemini is going crazy from waiting over here!
Any Mercury Rx worries for you?
I have 2 interviews later this week. I really want one of the opportunities so badly! I applied to the company online before in April or May, but this time I did it through a friend of a friend. Regardless, I want to work for this company. I hope Mercury Rx doesn't blow my chances. The other company, I don't know much about even after reading their website and doing research on them. But I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket with company number one. Gah! I just want to get this over with and find out what happens. My life seems to always be on pause and with Mercury Rx...how can it possibly get any slower?
Well. As you know, I am not prone to exhibiting anything one might call a "romantic" side.
But, dude, that is romantic and old school. Beats a text, an email, a voicemail, a phonecall... younameit!
Consider yourself beloved, is my two cents.
As for me - just aggravating internet stuff re: dealing with things that need to get done. No biggee. I'm used to it. :)
@Michele -

Agree, definitely sweet but definitely driving me crazy. :O I guess I have a new appreciation for all those people who communicated by mail with loved ones. It must have been so exciting to get a letter and then have to anticipate getting the next one. Geez!
Hope everything smooths out for you! <3
@fieryvirgo -
Aw, maybe just use Merc Rx as an opportunity to be extra prepared and then do a great job on your interview! :) Crossing my fingers for you!
Thanks egiyablu!
Plus, your guy sounds so romantic. Definitely a keeper!
All I know is that since yesterday, I can't for the life of me get anywhere in the car, quickly. I get every bad break for the lights, I find myself stuck behind people who obviously don't have a clue of where they are going. And no, the road doesn't fall off into oblivion just because you reached the top of the hill.
I actually decided to go sign up at 4 different recruitment agencies this week, so I'm betting that when I do go this Wednesday something might cause a hiccup in that area lol, especially because Sag is my 10th house...
Also I had a relationship turnaround yesterday, right after sunrise...which seems optimitistic but knowing this guy is heavily affected by all Sag transits because his chart is filled to the brim with Sag planets, he might change his mind....we'll see!!
My clients keep complaining that they can never get in contact with me.
Well, check your voicemail! Ugm.
i am sort of tweaked in that neptune-y sort of way. very diffuse. it's annoying. i was laser-focused just a few weeks ago!
Merc retches, my Internet goes out.
I do my usual checks, call tech support.
For the first time in 9 years I get a guy in India who is not exactly the most competent tech support dude. Am in limbo. Still don't know if the problem is my gear or their network and he couldn't tell me.
Feeling the collective pain!
I managed to accidentally bid on an item on ebay - hit bid then realised I had bid on an empty frigging box of what I actually wanted. And I won it. Fortunately, have now resolved this and nice man has cancelled my bid! (Left VERY nice feedback).
Having a new boiler fitted tomorrow after current one blew last Monday night - the guy who's organised it all lost all email yesterday, so that was a pain.
Computer at work uber slow.
And people at work are taking it upon themselves to interfere in our department's business. Baffling.
I went last night to finaliy pay for the kitchen remodel that we've been planning for a couple of months. I was comfortable closing the deal because all the planning was complete, everything was already signed, etc, and all I needed to do was write a check.
The company had installed a new computer system three weeks ago, and it picked last night to "act up" for the first time! So it took some time to figure that out and print my invoice.
Also, once I wrote the check to them (it was a pretty big one!), of course they needed to get an authorization. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the authorization to go through because the computer wasn't letting them get in.
Seems like the usual Mercury Rx stuff to me!
@fieryvirgo - I would see your situation as a perfect chance to use that Merc Rx energy! You applied there once, months ago, and now you are being given a second look/chance by the company. That's perfect! Take the extra time to prepare, as someone else suggested, and OWN that interview! The Universe gave you another shot at a company you really want to work for so YAY! ![]()
My Monday was a KILLER!!! OMG! We had our team meeting at 9 am like every Monday but THIS Monday everyone was in a pissy mood and no one seemed willing to step up to the plate and commit to the week's work! On top of that it seemed like no one was speaking English in the meeting, everything was unclear......UGH. I knew it immediately...damn Merc Rx!! I often find that the day before an Rx seems worse for me. Anyway, yesterday I took control of several things, maintained a good mood, and it turned out to be a very long but productive and positive day! This week is going to be challenging.....
Turns out the company that processes our payroll went out of a business a few days ago. Staff had to scramble the last few days to get a new system in place as tomorrow is pay day.
Just got a note from the HR manager asking all of us to make sure we get our pay tomorrow in our bank accounts! Holy crap! I have so many pre-authorized payments (like my mortgage), I'm a bit screwed if the money doesn't appear tomorrow!
@mahchi-- Yikes! I hope the transition goes smoothly, and you get paid on time.
I just got off the phone with the cable company again. I was on hold for over 30 minutes after another unsuccessful attempt to pay my bill via phone and internet for the second day in a row.
They installed a new computer system over the weekend. It crashed yesterday and is still down.
Other than that, just minor phone issues so far. *knocks on wood*
I'm a little nervous about this Mercury Rx. The last one wasn't very kind to me.
I went to the Italian police in Milan to get my staying permit paperwork. I travelled by train (which I paid a 100 euros).
First I was told that I will have to come back the next day for additional procedures (I planned on returning today so I miss as less classes possible).Plans screwed.
She also told me that I could've requested a different kind of permit because my dad lives in Italy. That permit would cost me a lot less and I would've gotten it today. Instead I have to come back in December.
She also told me that I will be obliged to return beginning of December to listen through a course on Italian laws and whatnot (a new procedure which I knew nothing about). Plans messed up again.
It al finished with her telling me that I was given the wrong information at the consulate. They told me that because my dad gave me the guarantee necessary for a permit I had to request it in Milan. Turns out I could've done it in Trieste and avoid all of this unnecessary and stressful trips back and forth.
This wrong information was given to me by the same person who screwed up my college application last year. You cannot imagine how pissed of I am. This affects us all because not only my dad had to take 3 days off work and pay for the train, his girlfriend/partner/whatever will have to do that in December so she could drive me around because he will be away on business. And of course, 100 more euros for the train. I'm very upset.
And I'll miss classes again which is not that big of a deal, but it's big of a deal to me as I prefer to be there.
my god. my bank did something I didn't authorize and now I have a negative - $114.00 in my checking account. they are closed now for the day, so I guess I'll take care of it tomorrow *sigh*
This pisses me off, as I already have so much stress about being broke right now. I just want to cry :(
Wow, a lot of people are having things happen!
@raspbeari Wow, that sucks. :( Hope the bank fixes that in your favor.
So far, I tried a new homemade mac 'n' cheese recipe tonight. I forgot to save the pasta water--it would have helped the sauce cling to the pasta better. I also used whipped butter (has salt) instead of unsalted butter, and I added FROZEN broccoli to the mac n cheese, thinking it would cook with it or something. *facepalm*
The recipe turned out good (very rich, and a little saltier than I cared for).
Oh, and a ladle fell out of my utensil holder and went behind the stove. Hope I can get to it.
On a lighter note: someone kept sending me emails by accident. I have a common first name, but the person never realized his error.
On a more serious note: I accepted another interview for a position that I don't really want, but I realized that I had to cancel it due to a scheduling conflict. I feel bad, but with the snow and the mass transportation issues, I don't want to be late for the other interview, which is for a position I really want! I can't risk it.
Yesterday, I left work and was like 5 miles away when I had to turn back 'cause I wasn't sure if I'd turned off my space heater. There was also a nor'easter happening and it was rush hour making the driving conditions stressful and annoying. Not to mention it was the first snow so everybody forgot how to drive. Obviously when I got back to my office, I had indeed turned it off so the whole thing was pointless. Then I had to go to CVS, prolonging my commute and driving and the whole parking lot was covered in snow and cars were sliding all over. I was also trying to talk to someone on my bluetooth but their phone wasn't working and they had to reboot their phone to get it to function properly!!!
Mostly road travel is the big concern here, but that is also largely weather-related. Snow, ice, no visibility.
And the app on my phone that I use to listen to music has been *buffering* ALL. DAY. LONG. Though a co-worker tells me this is also due to the heavy snow.
But I'm blaming Mercury too, because I can. :)
Eta: I'm also about to go get some blood tests done. I expect to sit in the waiting room for a goooood long time before getting in.
Eta2: Haaaahahahha, scratch that. My healthcare card is still under my old last name, so all my medical records are too - but all the rest of my ID is under my new last name, so since my ID doesn't match their records (or the blood requisition form) they won't do it unless I bring in my marriage certificate. Which of course I didn't remember to do. Well, I guess I'll try again tomorrow, lol.
My computer was damaged on Nov. 5th, my phone isn't work, I keep confusing the hour I Have lessons as a student, I even missed the bus while waiting for it! Travelling is a mess and everything I touch is breaking up...I Have mercury in acquarius in the 6th house and I am a Pisces.
Well, I'm rewriting a bunch of texts, improved the log book system by adding a few more details...
I also noticed how some things that people thought were going to happen did not happen (for now, the Noreaster didn't make a mark in the DC area, it's just cold right now).
@blue rose. thanks:) it does suck.
It is still a mess after being at the bank this morning and on the phone again. It won't get corrected until next week sometime. At least the credit card company agreed that they were in the wrong and will put the money back, just not right away. I'm wiped out, and need a nap!
Job interview is in a little bit. I did finish my resume this morning though. That is good!
oh and this is a hoot. I was on the phone quite a while trying to figure out the credit card stuff and the guy kept saying I don't see it. like 10 times. And in my head I was like "you moron" I finally asked him if this was Discover I was talking with, and he said no, this is comcast. lol, I had called Comcast by mistake.
i know i already complained yesterday but dayum!! this mercury rx has my brain feeling so DIFFUSE. must be the square to neptune. i've not been in top form for a week or so now. rargh.
@daisynymph: Thanks! I hope it works out. The secretary was super nice to me--like, it was ridiculously amazing. You would think she came from a hospitality background. I liked the potential coworkers I interviewed with...so hopefully they feel the same. The HR person was nice, but too happy, that it made me feel insecure.
@solaire: I hope things work out! That sounds like a major pain!!!
Other than that I had more miscommunation mishaps via email. I just saw a 3 day old email that had a deadline that passed. Oops.
Balls. Now I'm really glad I took so many PTO days from work this month.
Customer Service Agent: "May I have your name so that I may address you properly?"
Me [thinking, ooh how civilized]: "Yes, thank you, my name is *Susan"
Customer Service Agent: "Okay *Suzy. How may I help you today?"
::Headdesk:: ...All optomism for a speedy resolution is abandoned forthwith...
*made up name. but you get the gist.
My Mum took the car to take my sister to the dentist, where she is getting all four of her wisdom teeth plucked out. I said I would catch a bus to work, it's fine. No mum insists she can take me.
So now its 10 minutes until I start work and she is not here. I angrily called her a few times and she wasn't picking up. Until I realised I was calling my own phone *facepalm*
Then, because my brain disappeared, I had to look up her number and call her. On the eigth ring she picks up. I irately ask her wether she is taking me to work or not. She is breezy and says yes yes, she is she'll be home soon. I let her know the dentist called me five minutes earlier to let her know that my sister is ready to be picked up. Oh...really? Yes mum, really -_-
So now I've missed all my buses, next one doesnt show up for forty minutes. I am going to be epically late for work (It's a 30 minute drive) and knowing today the road will be f*cked.
I shouldn't be angry but Jupiter is magnifying everything in my chart. I am angry. Don't tell me you're going to take me to work (like it's some huge selfless act) when like always YOU'RE NOT.
Eta: she turned up the exact time I was supposed to be there. Turns out my sister wasn't ready after all. Then in the sole passage out of my suburb this person was going 30km. In a 50km zone. I've never wanted to rear end a person more in that moment. Aaaand now I'm stuck in traffic.
