How good are you at predicting moon signs? I think I've become pretty decent at figuring out whose moon is in what sign (except for Elsa's - I really can't get a vibe at all- ha ha! Damn hall of mirrors.).

But seriously, this applies more to people I know in everyday life, in person. So let me tell you a few things I've observed about various moon signs based on personal experience. Add yours to the list!

Taurus moon does comfort food like no other (well, except for Cancer moon. And Taurus/Cancer venus. Okay, forget I said that. Moving on...)

Gemini moon bulldozes other people in conversations. They don't really realize they do it but if you try to jump in with a question or side quip it's like they steamroll right over you. In fact, you could sneak in a nap during one of Gemini moon's chatty spells, and I dare say they would notice. (Disclaimer: I'm a Libra. I get along with these people and can say this with no malice. It is amusing to me and typically I'm equally interested in any one of a number of topics they're chatting about).

If you make a joke about knocking down an old lady, Cancer moon will always laugh. The way to a Cancer moon heart is through sentimental reminiscence (and a hot meal, something their mama made for them growing up).

Virgo moon takes their relationships neat and tidy just like their kitchen. Virgo moon is always ready to run out to the store for you, bake you a cake, wipe your tears, babysit your dog.

Libra moon is MORE socially adept, MORE charming and MORE fair-minded than Libra sun! They're so good at seeing the other guy's perspective that they really don't know what THEY think for a lot of the time. A million friends from all circles. I can't imagine anyone better for the role of diplomat than these people.

Scorpio moon. Ahh, where do I begin with this one. Notatirem?

Capricorn moon loves to tell the same jokes over and over with the same people the same exact way every time - with a big BAH HA HA at the end. They're great at making a catch phrase stick - so that pretty soon everyone's saying it. I gleefully engage in this practice regularly with my Cap moon friends.

Pisces moon takes great power from their deep understanding of human nature. I'm having trouble articulating Pisces moon, possibly because it's so complicated I don't even understand it.

Anyone else?

Us Leo Moons tend to be open and social or at least appear to be. I notice most Leo Moons can seem overly friendly, but once you hurt their pride, a roar comes out!

Pisces moon - those BIG bulging eyes. I find more in the moons than in the sun Pisces. Scorpio moons I know work around the death industry. Aqua moons take detachment to a new level than the suns. Virgo moons (sigh) are so fussy. Too fussy for me and I'm a Virgo sun. Sag moons seem to be happy go lucky but not in touch with their emotions at all. Cap moons - we all have long faces.

I dunno. I'm a Leo moon/Leo rising and I'm definitely not a social creature. In fact, some times I'm so anti-social I don't pick up the phone when people call because I just don't have the energy to be social.

There are occasions where I feel up to it and surprise myself, but by and large....

Taurus Moon- They have a nice casual side. Kick feet on table, relax, and eat a cookie?

Aries Moon- More impatient than Sun in Aries people!

Sagittarius Moon- Can be lazy and slacker, but friendly.

Aquarius Moon- If you don't like detached people, you won't like Aquarius Moons at all.

Oh yeah, Toni! I forgot about my best friend with the Aquarius moon and how detached and chill she is. (Taurus/Aquarius). One thing I like about it is she never really gets into my Scorpio moon psyche - she just doesn't have the equipment to go in there, and that's how I like it! Haha.

I don't know any Sag, Leo, or Aries moons. Wait, I take that back. My brother is a Pisces with an Aries moon. He's high energy, always on the go, adventuresome, impatient, foot tapping, "come on, let's go," entrepreneurial, free spirited... 

Other than him though, it's interesting that I really haven't had any CLOSE friends with fire moon signs.

Toni, true about the Taurus moons. One of my long-time girlfriends is a Gem/Taurus and you're right, she likes to kick back and enjoy. 

Luci, you said you have some 8th house influence? Maybe that has to do with your solitude?

I do have anecdote about my boyfriend (Virgo moon)

After the last rain I suggested we go walk the nature trail because of the high probablility of seeing cool mushrooms.  When we got there he started freaking out.  "look at this one, look at this one."  We had to stop and look at every freakin mushroom individually.  It took us 2 hours to make it through a trail that I usually walk in 40 mins. He asked (as if it were up to me) "Can we come back tomorrow with a camera and catalog all of these?"

"Um, if they havn't dried up, sure."

He was so thrilled, like a little kid, his face was beaming with pure joy.  At one point he called me over to a tree that had tiny layers of fungus growing up its trunk.  He pointed with giant mesmerized eyes and said "We could live here, in these apartments." 

Okay, the Leo moons I have known need lots of praise and attention.  The head of my department is Leo moon, and it is so easy to work her it's ridiculous.  Just pretend you think her opinion really, really matters, lol.   Okay, all you Leo moons have just swished your tails and turned your back on me, I know   It's okay, I am a Leo sun, I can be a royal pain in the ass too, believe me 

Us Scorpio Moons, we should all get together, and plot the demise of every mother-fucker who has ever dared betray us - not actually carry it out, because we mostly love to brood and plot and re-hash over and over again.  We could all practice our "evil eye" and see who has the best scary stare!

Scorpio moon, well i guess for reasons unknown to me  I do flaunt it or should I say "challenge" people with it..... i'm not AS private as a scorpio moon is said to be...

Aries moon: they don't stay mad
Virgo moon: hairsplitters
Taurus moon: I can tell a taurus moon by their eyes, so deep and sweet

i know a virgo moon, and well, it just point up the fact of holisitc chart reading, cause this person is so sweet, loving and caring and humble. Never that traditional "critical, hairsplitting virgo type".  And this person has earth and sag and scorpio and leo as well.

I have two virgo moon friends that drive me crazy with the hairsplitting! They aren't critical of others, they are kind -- but their obsession with precision (of language) is maddening!

I also have a virgo moon. I am prob more critical and wish I were more compassionate (pisces north node)

I don't know whether to be offended as an Aquarian moon or not.  Hrrrmph!  *flounce* 

Yeah, I am detached and logical and rational, but sometimes it's necessary -- like slapping a hysteric.  But, as Cancer rising, a lot of that icy exterior is to conceal my inner turmoil.  That's priviledged info, yanno.  (Says the Pluto trine.)
Unfortunately, the only other Aqua moons I know are on here, so until someone else 'fesses up, I'ma have to wait and see.

One thing Elsa said stuck with me:
Talking about Shack Man, she commented on his very expensive stereo and how, since he was a typical Aquarian moon audiophile, it wasn't all that out of character to her.  I kinda resemble that remark. 

I have seen extreme sensitivity to tone and pitch with Aqua Moon. They don't like fingernails on a chalk board, that's for sure.

My sister is double leo with aqua moon (also cancer north node), mars and venus in gemini--

Yeah I see her as pretty detatched... She doesn't want to deal with emotions too much....and now she has a young daughter with a cancer moon in the 12th!

I like an aqua moon if the rest of the chart is nurturing/compassionate but too much "cool" is tough on this cancer lady :)

Sometimes I go to check up on my old Aquarius friend from childhood, on her Very Aquarian blog. I found out there that she had a baby (she swore up and down she'd never be a mom) and he's a CANCER of all things! And he has changed her profoundly and it is actually quite beautiful.

Pisces Moon: I call this one the "martyr moon." The most freaking drama and crying and "Nobody loves meeeeeeeeee" crap that I ever hear comes out of Pisces Moons. I don't get why people bitch about the Scorp moons when there are Pisces Moons around with Teh Drama.

Sadge moon: constantly on the go, on the move, doesn't tend to get terribly deep and sad about things. (This is why Pisces Moons drive me batty.)

Aquarius moons: detach, detach, detach. Even if they have other placements that should have more moodiness, this mellows them out.

 Ya that's me.. doubly so with my mercury in scorpio.. I simply HAVE to finish a thought lol. Well i've learned i don't have to - that i can switch gears at any point. But I prefer the people that can let me go until I'm spent. :)

Moon in aquarius is my dad. He loves what's new and technology, and took up meditation in the late 70s when no one else was. The other day he came home excited because he finally learned about what wifi is .. I couldn't explain it to him well.. he thought it too cool that you can get internet anywhere in the world on a handheld blackberry via satellites. He also can't stand to see kids sitting and rocking themselves out of neglect - a specific image that makes his skin crawl. And will always bring home abandoned kittens. Also he leaves me alone to do my own thing and is always happy to see me.

Aries moon: I've learned to just go wait in the car for my husband to get ready, rather than watch him get ready and get exasperated because it's been five fucking minutes already which of course is a lifetime.

I know a lot of scorpio moons, and they are all a bit different (their Sun signs, in this order: Cap, Leo, Leo, Sag, Aquarius, and Cancer)

...but the common thread is that they take a while to open up...I mean REALLY open up. Thing is, you can think you're getting to know one and it just keeps getting deeper...and deeper...and deeper...

I love Aquarius Moons. I know 3...2 of them are Aries Suns, nice combo if you can "get it" (Meaning, they aren't assholes, they're individuals...you respect their individuality and they will respect yours). The other is an Aries ASC. Works for me, with my Uranus conj. MC

Cappy Moons...well I am one (duh) but I can spot them, too. We really, really enjoy the people who can relax us and ease our worried hearts and will love you forever providing you clean up after yourself ;)

Taurus Moons...Elsa once describing them as not liking to share their food, boy is that the truth and a half...also know a Taurus Moon/ASC with Sun in Cancer who drinks like, half her bottle of beer because she "doesn't do dregs"--her work nickname is Princess, and she loves it:) 

Scorpio moon.....the detective! My mom has this placement. When I was in high school I was a bit difficult. When I came home at night, my mother would summon me to her room. She would say something like, "I already know what you did, but if you confess, I'll go easier on you." I of course had a guilty conscience and would admit where I had really been, and who I was really with. It took me a while to figure out that my mother was bluffing.
My mother KNOWS when I am upset, when something is wrong. She can sense it. She knows when I am lying. She knows if I was crying sometime in the past 48 hours. I don't know how much of this is scorpio moon and how much is mother's intuition.

I really like Cancer moons - I've was in a relationship with a Sag/Cancer moon & with an Aries/Cancer moon. Talk about loyal, sensitive, caring guys. Kind and generous.  The fire sun sign keeps things from getting overly mushy.

Very true what everyone has written about Aries moon - so impatient, foot-tapping, doesn't stay mad long. That is my placement.

 My favorites in life are the talky, audacious types, especially if they have a sense of timing.  Throw me a Leo moon or a Gemini moon, or some variant thereof.  I have to say, though, that one of my sweetest friends in the world is a Libra sun with a Scorpio moon.  She's warm-hearted and lovely. 

Aries moon here, as I've no doubt mentioned.  Reading the posts above, I'm glad to know I'm not alone in taking the much-deserved impatient wrap.  People tell stories on me about it.  My sisters call my dad and entertain him.  Last time was when we went to a PGA golf tournament together.  Everything went well until the day had ended and we were bussed back to the parking lot.  They had no organization, and it was like a stampede trying to get out of there.  We were jammed for maybe an hour in this field, effing dust flying up.  I almost didn't make it.  At one point, I thought about getting out of the car and walking.  Fuck it. 

any moon would say fuck it at that point!

My fiancee has Taurus Moon, I have Cancer Moon. Guess what is our main meeting ground and point of mutual comforting?

My Taurus Moon fiancee admits this freely. One of her first questions when we met was "Do you like chocolate?" When I replied "not particularly" she was quick with "Good! Then you won't raid my stash! It'll be mine all mine!!"

Strawberry Fields... I'm surrounded by Taurus and Cancer eaters... haaa. My best friend for the last 16 years is a Taurus with Cancer mars. My ex had Taurus in Venus, Mars in Cancer. My current is a Taurus Sun/Cancer moon with Cancer Venus. Two guys I was involved with prior to that for several years - one had a Cancer moon with Taurus Venus and the other had the Taurus Venus.

So as you can imagine, I'm always quite well fed!

That's funny about the chocolate stash. My old college roommate hoarded boxes of mallowmars in her closet, away from the rest of the "shared" food in the kitchen where the rest of us kept everything. :)

My BFF and I both have Cappy moon (both square Saturn) and we crack eachother the hell up!  We've been friends since I was 13 (28 now).  She has made me AND my mom pee our pants on two seperate occassions.  Yes, full-out pants-wet, piss in our pants, that's how funny she is.  I wish everyone in the whole world could meet her =)

She has sun in Libra conjunct Saturn zero degrees apart, and she has that wicked, smart-ass sense of humor, plus Mars in Leo to add flailing arms and dramatic expressions to the equation.  I love her.

Hi Bananas, You're right about my Gemini Moon, I can be chatty.  But with a Gemini Rising son I can no longer monopolize the conversation.  I've been with my Aquarius Moon hubby for 20 years and I love his matter-of-fact detached ways so much that I now find anyone else too sensitive, mushy and needy for my taste!

Ha, Nelly, that's great - sounds like you met your match! Elsa had a really great post on the blog related to that. I wish I could dig it up - it was one of the advice pieces about a mother and child with the same sign characteristics.

I have an ARIES MOON! What a pain in the butt to have this placement...not a happy place for the moon UNLESS you are constantly active, can wear your body out on a daily basis with excercise, LOTS Of extreme activities, and plenty of room to run around and feel free...OTHERWISE..watch out. This moon placement means we can act like little kids if our desires aren't met asap...however, luckily it also makes the person with this moon lovable because of the inherent innocence surrounding the demands...making up the petty outbursts with silliness and forgiving and forgetting pretty quick.

But...if I could...I'd LOVE to have a virgo moon or a taurus moon! Oh you lucky people with cooool earth moons.

Dorothy, you are bang on with your leo moon assessment - I need lots of praise and attention, feel physically hurt if I'm snubbed or have an idea rejected or talked down and am ridiculously firendl with everyone - even people who I don't want to like but end up liking them anyway!

My fiance has a virgo moon (and sun - uh) and is crazy fussy and fastidious - he happily spens 12 hours researching for a work job that lasts less than 2 hours.

Bananas - my youngest sis has gem moon and quickly gets to the heart of any coversation and leads it. You know there's something wrong if she's quiet.

My dad's a properly impatient aries moon, mum's got libra and everything - but EVERYTHING - has to be fair.

And as for scorpio moon... super super private, dark and jealous... (but i love em - tau sun/aqua asc)...

"whiny" is definitely not a scorpio trait. more like taurus or cancer.

So much fun reading this thread....that is a nice comment coming from a Libra Moon....I really wish I were a Taurus Moon or Scorpio moon.....I am getting to where I don't like it when someone says..."oh, you are so nice, though"....gags!

My moon in gemini hubby loves to describe me as the "nice lady"....when he isn't talking and expounding on everything under the sky....don't ask this guy a question and think you will get it without a dissertation on the subject!!  One of the things I love about him....you can ask him anything and he knows the answer.....trivia???!!  Numero Uno!!  Everybody knows him by name Trivia Night at the local bar.....so silly to me...

Leo Moon....my father-in-law....I just have to tell him he is MAR-VE-LOUSSSSSSSS at anything he does.....eats out of my hand....but I have been up against the prideful side when I have not been so diplomatic and watch out! Blow you out of the room with his ROAR!

Aqua Moon - one of my very good friends has this and I can tell when she has had enough of me and my Pisces Venus and Mars Cancer.....and being too nice on top of all that.....she is like a very sharp blade....I can see the glint of silver light bounce from her eyes when I am sobbing and questioning why a person was mean to me...and her response...very cool,"just don't talk to them anymore, cut them out of your life". 

Sag Moon...my middle child....happy go lucky...all the time...not a care in the world...a ready smile....

I don't know any Cappy moons....always wanted to since I am Cap Sun....
