So what's everyone's favourite music genre? I am not sure which planets affect this but I'll take a stab... Where is your venus? and your Moon?

(I am guessing music is often emotionally moving...) 

I listen to everything. I have Pantera and Carly Simon and even DMX on my mp3 player. My favorite, though, are things I can sing along with. Anything acoustic and folky.

I like songs that have emotion behind them, that bravely and without apology or excuses state how the singer is feeling. 

I am very much into very passionate, strong music.

R&B is my first choice. Alicia Keys is probably my favourite musician of all time. I love strong, solid voices, the sound of the piano and that neo-old school type feel ;)

Although the music of Rodrigo y Gabriela (they're latin guitar, I think) always moves me.

Venus in Taurus, 2nd house sextile Moon in Cancer in 4th, trine Saturn in Virgo in 6th, square Mars in Leo in 5th, Opp Uranus in Scorpio 8th.  

My Moon is squared by Pluto in 7th, Trined by Uranus, sextiled by Venus and Saturn. 

I love all types of music. The past few years I have gotten into older jazz and I have become totally enamored with Chet Baker, his music is a bit meloncholy. I like r&b too.  Tonight I was at the gym and listening to my Tupak on my ipod thinking I felt a kinship with him, he too is a fellow Gemini.

Oh my Moon is in the 9th in Aquarius and is the apex of two yods involving my Cancer Venus in the 2nd and my Virgo Pluto and Uranus in the 4th.

I really do love everything. But i've always had a penchant for anything weepy, sad, folksy, ambient and emotive. Trip hop is a new favorite, indie folk, alternative, jazz, oldies. I love Steely Dan, which gets me ridiculed a lot but I make the best mixes and I have pretty much everything a good music collection should have. Everything from Sufjan Stevens to Mos Def to Rammstein to Stravinsky to NSYNC to Frankie Valli. Music is my thang, my sanctuary, my first love. Venus in Pisces, moon in Virgo. I am PSYCHO about organizing my music. I spend hours on it.

I like lots of stuff, but the top two genres are 70s rock like bowie, patti smith, supertramp, black sabbath...and odd ambient electronica, like the orb. 

I like all different kinds of music but if I had to pick one then it would be rock especially bands like Iron maiden, Pantera, Buck-Tick(Japanese), Seigmen(Norway), Inflames, Black Sabbath.

Hip-Hop (Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Nas, Rakim, KRS-One) Jazz (Coltrane, Ahmad Jamal, Thelonious Monk, Lee Morgan) Soul (D'Angelo, Amel Larreaux, Raphael Saadiq, Issac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield)  Indie (Massive Attack, Zero 7, Squarepusher, Decoder Ring)

Also Jimi Hendrix & Pink Floyd.
 

I DO NOT like all kinds of music, at all.  I like celtic music: Solas, Karan Casey, Dervish, etc.  And I like smooth jazz to relax to (Grover Washington Jr., George Benson, Sade.)  And I like Van Morrison, which is probably my top pick.  I like laid back with soft emotions, not intense.

Virgo Moon/3rd, Venus Aries/10th. 

Ohhh, I LOOOOVE MUSIC.

My all time favorite is Anarcho/Peace Punk. It's underground Autonomist/Anarchist music, Music with a strong message.  But I love lots of different types of music too, I need that variety because it goes with my many moods. (Cancer moon in 8th House trine Pluto in 12th House)

Crackers- You should check out Lorena McKennitt (I think I spelt the last name wrong) She has amazing Celtic music. Which I enjoy too.

i like a lot of different kinds of music, but am especially partial to old blues. maybe it's saturn neptune in the 7th - my man done me wrong, the snake in the grass songs. LOL.

Crackers, Van Morrison is the love of my life!    I've been listening to his music since I was 17 and I still listen almost exclusively to him, other 70s artists, blues, rhythym and blues, and the soft and soulful jazz singers like Diana Krall.  Also Latin jazz.  Every once in a while I get fired up about younger artists, like Nora Jones or that one song by Maroon 5 that came out a few years ago, "Sunday Morning."  I like Irish music too I listen to Irish Radio all the time.  Nobody sings a ballad like the Irish I always say.  I also have lots of CDs where just the sound of moving water is recorded (ocean, lake, river, stream) which I play when I sleep.

Yay, Peppermint!  I have some Diana Krall ("peel me a graaape" - heh) and Norah Jones stuff, too - so we continue to be similar musically!  

We've got a couple of good celtic music programs I can catch by radio in my neck of the woods on the weekends, so I try to use that to find new music in that genre.  

I have a weird attitude toward music.  On the one hand I'm bothered by the acquisitive nature of people collecting mp3s and claiming that music is more important than visuals, on the other hand I collect it like crazy, just don't listen to most of it.  I didn't grow up with musically obsessed people.  I tend to choose music that fits my mood (Venus in Cancer).  It's really hard to get me to listen to a lot of new things even though I want to, especially to brush up on classics and music that is considered good.  I'm slowly working my way through appreciating the Stones.  I listen to a lot of things.  I like music with whimsical word choices like rap, music in different languages (Gemini Sun).

I have Moon/Pluto/Saturn in Libra/Scorpio: I love alternative rock. The louder the better. Oh and I like to sing offkey at the top of my lungs! 

Music is my air and my food and my blood.  Couldn't live without it.  My parents listened to the White Album, Abbey Road and Rubber Soul over and over again when I was a child so those 3 records are basically my roots (Moon in Aries, close to the IC).  I was always super into indie rock and all the bands nobody else had ever heard about (Venus in Aquarius) but now can't get enough of the classic rock, especially from the 70s ~ it's nice to see that mentioned so much here, as well as the wonderful Van Morrison.  Never really played music on my own until my Saturn Return - when I picked up a guitar, started writing songs and singing out loud (5th house cusp is Taurus).  7 years later and I don't know how I ever even survived without playing music, especially with other people. I'm surrounded my music and people who play music 99% of the time.  Even my job now is teaching music to very small children and the joy in their faces when they hear their favorite songs and start singing along is absolutely electric.

Well Lunalie, i have a varied taste. I love 50s, 60s, especially 70s (was born in 70, thus a child in seventies)and 80's (was teenager in eighties, lol~~many memories good & bad)  rock n roll. Tend to like the heavier side like Tool, old Metallica, Judas Priest, Kiss, Testament, etc. I also love soft rock & opera. Go figure!   conjunct (both 5 degrees spot on)  in 9th house.  in 9th house too.

Don't likes

... someone stole mah truck and dog country.. exceptions to country would be Tanya Tucker.. all Emmylou etc.. so I guess just the good ole boyz twangy stuff is what I don't much like.

Opera is one I don't particularly like although I am impressed with the voice control etc, I just can't get into it. Hard to get down and shake yer ass with opera.

That jazz shit that doesn't have a rhythm or is nonmelodic.

I do like old school rap like Tone Loc etc.. new hip hop doesn't do much for me at all.

I just LOVE Blues... any kind and yes Goddess I know what you mean LOL

Other LOVES to listen to.. any Motown.. any Classic Rock.
