dorchid, I can relate... not with having kids, but to try to help the people around me become better. We share sun/rising. I don't know about you, but sometimes I go too far in trying to fix and help and mend and strengthen. :( I'm sorry for your libra son.
thanks blessedwhitney. i've got control issues, and it hurts my pride (leo) to know my son is behind the herd. i have quite a temper and thankfully it's been few and far between, but my son is definitely going through the ringer. trying my best to be compassionate and mind those boundaries (libra).
thanks SaD. i hate the application process but it is what it is. i'd rather he be educated here than my hometown. so there is a larger perspective. but overall it's hard to watch. he's got to deal with rejection - at least the possibility of it. i'm not a stage mom who signs her kid up for auditions. quite the opposite! so this has me shaking in my boots.
crossing fingers for good luck for you son, dorchid. I hope he gets into the school of his choice. x
ahh..good luck little Libra :) I hope he gets in the school of his choice too! And sending support to you Dorchid. Having to lean on my kids for stuff like this was never my favorite part of parenting. But it is necessary. Hang in there!
Poor little Libra...but way to go Mom for being the rock when he needs it! Sending much luck to you!
I don't like having to be the hardass where school is concerned, but I know that without me doing it, the kiddies will not apply themselves. My motto has always been: As a parent, I want better for my kids then I've done for myself. It keeps us all on the right path.

Saturn in Libra is kicking his butt :( He's in 5th grade. Our school system requires kids to apply to their middle school. Crossing our fingers he gets into first or second choic school.
I have been a hard-ass and he hasn't been taking it well. I'm not trying to break him but build him up, and this is a parenting lesson I sorely need because my own parents were so clueless. But I see no other way out of this except structure and accountability and discipline. His teacher is on my case so of course I'm on his case, which means 2 people are on his case. And now his tutor (first time ever, I'm quite shocked my son has a tutor now but I know it's the time and place, lest this gets worse). So THREE people are holding him accountable. All while his dad is nowhere in sight. And the closest father figure he has, my ex, is Aries and in his own sh*tshow, so has not been able to visit regularly.
Fudge :(
