Good one mmarianna!
Nobody's Fool and It's A Wonderful Life: Cancer/Capricorn axis
Fightclub: Aries/Libra axis
Dark City: Scorpio/Taurus axis
Razor's Edge and Ground Hog Day: Pisces/Virgo axis
I like this thread.
Gemini - The Usual Suspects
Cancer - Mystic Pizza
Leo - The Man Who Would be King
Virgo -Elizabeth
Libra - Sleepless in Seattle
Scorpio - Bad Timing
Aquarius - the Big Lebowski
Moulin Rouge - Scorpio
Dreamgirls - Leo
I would tend to agree with Fight Club being the Aries/Libra axis. Totally appeals to an Aries like me ;)
That is a very good Libran perspective - partnership anchoring/saving Tyler Durden. Without Tyler (Brad), he wasn't able to do it on his own so yeah... that is a very Libran perspective! It's almost like... when you join forces, you become a stronger fighter (Aries).
Love it! I can watch that movie over and over again.
Right! And what are they fighting for? The right to be a man (aries) in this world in relationship with woman (Libra Marla Singer/Helena Bohnam Carter.)
This is a great interpretation! :)
Also, while watching Fight Club, I keep thinking that he is going through a Uranus/Mars transit of some kind. I'm thinking Mars may address masculinity and also rebellion - at least the rebellion against the masculinity he knows (ie. "We are a society raised by women").
I tend to think Two Weeks Notice is a good example of Aries/Libra opposition, and Moonstruck for Taurus/Scorpio.
Lunalie: Mars/Uranus definitely. Throw in a little Mercury for a schizo spilt. My guy kept trying to get me to watch this movie and the title just turned me off. I grew up with three brothers and watched more than my fair share of guy movies. When I finally watched it...I was blown away.
Jana:
I know what it's like, having grown up with two brothers myself. It was actually my brother that introduced me to this movie and I have not heard of it for a while. When I first watched it, I didn't like it because I didn't quite... get it... The second and third time I watched it, it made sense. I watched Fight Club recently (a few weeks ago) with my BF. He was watching it the third time, and for me, probably the 10th ;) HAHAHAH! I understood it, now that I'm much older and... well, closer to the main character's age (almost 30). I think it's one of those movies that gets better the more you watch it.
"Rocky"-
Capricorn. A movie about a man that is 30, the guy trains up and becomes a hero! He's going through his Saturn Return also!
"Taxi Driver"-
Either Scorpio or Aquarius, or both. The movie has a political message behind it (Aquarius). And it seems very Scorpio because it's sort of a dark movie about the American psyche (8th house or Scorpio rules psychology).
Chocolat- Taurus. Very sensual!
Toni:
Love the movie Chocolat particularly how Taurean sensuality merges with Scorpionic occult sciences. *Vianne and her daughter's magic-making is even more developed in the novel.
Like Water for Chocolate, same thing
Whoa, that's a pure Taurus/Scorpio axis movie then jana!
My Dinner With Andre, Gemini/Sag axis
Gran Torino, Martial Matyrdom Pisces/Aries cusp
The Way We Were, Leo/Aquarius
Gone with the wind- Taurus
Titanic- Pisces
Aquarius - What Dreams May Come
Virgo - Maid in Manhattan
Leo - Under the Tuscan Sun
Scorpio - Dr. Zhivago
This is great. I am so glad I found this forum. Some of these decribe the signs very well.
For my Venus in Pisces....Il Postino
Dr. Zhivago is another favorite of mine...don't know where that falls
Out of Africa - Leo
Capricorn - Au Revoir Les Enfants
Have any of you guys, watched ' Girl interrupted'' .
Its about a girl's 18 month stay at a mental institution.(Pisces)
I would think that Angelina Jolie(Lisa) plays the negative side of Scorpio. She manipulates the other girls . She knows when and how to push their buttons!
Winona Ryder(Susanna) is the Pisces and maybe the positive Scorpio. She feels compassion for everyone and believes that Lisa can change
Susanna is scared of Lisa in the beginning. Once they become friends they are unstoppable and controlling over everyone
Surviving Picasso - Scorpio (for obvious reasons)
Could also put Gladiator under scorpio - vengeance, intensity, leadership.
Hmmmm... I don't feel I know enough about astrology to assign traits like y'all have. However, I'd love to pick my faves from this list (that I've seen)!
Sound of Music
Die Hard
Fight Club
Chocolat
Girl Interrupted
Cool thread!
Thank You for Smoking - Gemini
Love the movie and looove Aaron Eckhart.
Nick Naylor (his character): "That's the beauty of argument, if you argue correctly, you're never wrong." :)
The Silence of the Lambs- (Scorpio). It's also to be noted that the movie came out when Pluto was in Scorpio in 1991.
Nurse Betty with Renee Zellwegger- (Pisces). She goes insane, but figures out her reality has been twisted and her illusion is revealed.
The Wizard of Oz- (Sagittarius)- The movie is so darn magical!

Aquarius- Rebel without a Cause
Aries- Gladiator
Gemini- A beautiful Mind
I feel unsure about this thread because I'm afraid it's silly. But I couldn't help myself, there's so many movies and it's just so fun to put an astrological theme on a movie.
If nobody replies to this thread than I'll just let it go, but I'm gonna post it anyways! Ha ha.
