Nudge from the Universe
posted 8 months ago in General
Sounds exciting SaDi!!
Yes everywhere I go The Universe is telling me I got the power to do more...
The Universe gives me gifts in advance of when I actually need them. It's amazing.
I think the universe can reward us, but we have to be nice I guess, LOL!
Go SaD!!
That's not a nudge - that's a whack over the frickin' head! Funny thing about the Universe, God, or whatever you want to call it is that if you don't get it the 1st time, it will just keep saying the same thing louder, and LOUDER, and LOUDER until the "duh" moment finally arrives, LOL!

I did for someone else...not sure about me exactly yet.
Fantastic SaDiablo! I won't say what I thought I read when I first read the title.
BANG BANG MAXWELL'S SILVER HAMMER CAME DOWN UPON HIS HEAD.
From the first time I met you here I formed a mental picture of Abby from NCIS. I really think you can do this and you would be good at it. Don't make me come down there and drag you by the ear. Cause now you have given me a good idea . . . .off to look at this town's EMT requirements.
ER Tech sounds awesome, esp as I remember you telling stories about how you are always the one to keep your head in a crisis, and the ER is crisis management personified
Much better than Forensics, surely - who could stand the smell? They say pathologists always smell a little of corpse and formaldehyde, no matter how hard they scrub ![]()
Fudge from the universe, NTM? o_O BWA-HA! Don't mind if I do... :P
What can I say, guys, I'm stubborn! And all this happened over, like, seven years, so I didn't connect the dots right away. Anytime someone would mention med school it was NO. No, no, no, no, no! Too much work, fuck off, 'k? I wanna dig in living people's brains, not listen to medical complaints. Go away. *shoo-shoo hands*
Yeah, well... if they're dead, they can't complain. Right? Right! heh heh heh... ;)
No, pathology! I tell ya, it's tailor-fuckin'-made.
I mean, y'all do know my favorite date EVAR was when I was taken to an autopsy and got to assist, right? ;D
It doesn't gross me out (in fact, I think it's fascinating), there's a chance of being in court if I do work in the ME's office (the thing that attracted me to forensic psych), and I don't have to deal with the living and all the headaches that tag along with that: my patients will never not do their treatment or only do it half-assedly, they won't get impatient with me or complain about my shitty bedside manner, nor do I have to worry about drug-seekers cramming my practice looking for a high. :P It's perfect!
Aww that's AWESOME SaD!!!! I can see you doing that too! Way to listen lol!
I have not had signs from the universe.. except I have NO signs now which is kind of like a sign saying "Stay RIGHT where you are". :P I kind of wish I'd gone out tonight but I was chicken. I'm a little fearful of what I might manifest because everything is kind of coming together. My yoga place changed hands and I found an even better yoga place closer by with Hatha yoga every day at a convenient time.. i'm going to go in the morning tomorrow. Maybe the man for me will live just down the street and say hi one day. Hopefully owning one of the houses. :P Seriously I need him to find me because I'm so freaked out now by how things are shaping up. I overthink it all. I now need it to be easy.
Seriously, SaD, my daughter wanted to do forensic pathology. Her reasoning sounded a lot like yours. She didn't make it through her second year of college though. Washed out. She took a look at the time and effort and decided she couldn't do it.
OMG... seriously, you would be SO good at that. All your Pluto musings...
& if you're doing something you are good at AND you enjoy it, you'll be such a happy chappy.
Go SaD GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Really!!!!
& under this sky too.... =)
OMG I can't believe I've missed this thread! Go for it! Totally do it SaD! Freaking cool!
@SE: I've washed up many times. :) At this point, either path I take means 12 years of schooling, forensic psych (Psy.D. is what I'm aiming for) or forensic pathology.
I just know I'm sick of being in dead-end, soul-sucking jobs instead of having a career. If I can keep that in mind instead of the mind-numbingness of irrelevant classes that last too effing long, I can make it. :)
@Michele: Yeah, I think so. :) I need to make sure that becoming an EMT really is going to be the best "first step" to get me where I want to go, so I'm waiting on Monday to make some phone calls. Other than that, though, I'm thinking this feels right.
Found the phone number for the state EMS department today and contacted the one school I know of that offers the training I want [paramedic level: minor medical procedures, phlebotomy (blood samples for lab tests), med administration -- basically RN-level stuff, on the short-term].
I'm RUNNIN', y'all. Runnin' with it. *big, cheesy grin*

Yesterday I talked to my friend in Dallas. She's a respiratory therapist and it was her birthday, so I called to wish her a merry one. :)
We got talking about life, school, and work, and I told her I'd been kicking around the idea of scrapping psychology and going to med school instead, to be a forensic pathologist.
Now, three doctors I've known have told me I need to go to med school. One, my boss, said this after I, a receptionist, suggested a med change for one of our patients that ended up working very well for her. Another of my bosses said the same thing when she heard the story. My ex-MIL, a neonatalogist, said this after I caught my ex's concussion after an auto accident, something the EMTs on scene missed.
So I was talking to A (my friend) and said, "But first I need to finish my certification for medical assisting, so I can keep a steady income."
"Have you ever thought of ER tech instead? Better pay, better hours, and it's hands-on patient care instead of paperwork," A replied.
"No, it never occurred to me! Do you know what the cert is?"
"Well, in my hospital you have to be an EMT. I don't remember the certs in WV."
Now here's the weird thing:
There's been ads in the classifieds for two months about EMT training and I have been seriously considering it. This conversation is just like the final nail in the coffin. *grins* Besides, if I go through EMT training, that shaves a lot of classes off of my bachelor's degree!
Okay, Universe. I get it.
Thanks. ;)
