    ..the rest to go.....

i spent 11 hours at work today, constructing the Vday display (4 of which wer taken up with phone calls trying to fix everyone elses problems from my remote location).  totaly took way longer than it needed to, but oh wel..  it's good hours.  i'm not really to pleased with it, but the store director is.  he has no spirit.  it's so regimented and anal...  so balanced and exact......  i'd have much rather done something with a curve, or a wave..  or something.  and i'm pissed they made me build within the shelving unit.  but it's a start.

i ache.  a lot.  i've been lazy for the past month.. not used to being on my feet running all day..

and yeah..  those blue and purple things at the top are died orchids..  very nice.

I understand wanting to zazz it up, Rant. And it does seem like a more open plan would let people see and get to the selection they want without bruising or busting up the other product...But, like you said, manager is happy--yippee!

Do you guys use...[uhh...brain fade...]. That thingy that--Oh, yeah! Plan-o-grams! Do you use planograms for your displays and resets? Or do y'all have to do it on the spot everytime?

Tis the season, eh? (and yes, the orchids look lovely...beckoning waves of beauty, summoning all to come behold from across the store aisles...)

Quick question for yah--oh flower-yoda...Some of the stems on the potted tulips my mum gave me are droooooping quite a bit. Not broken--just droopy. Anything for it? or does this just come with the tulip territory? Thanks!

CP-  the stores have planograms (i despise that word by the way), but we run on the fly... it's a matter of knowing how much we have to work with, what structure we are dealing with, and what the store director is looking for.  different every time and we make it up as we go along.

one of the stores i'm doing today is going to use wooden crates as the structure, so i'll have a lot more leway with the shape and layout (which is nice)

i watched people marvel over those orchids all day long..  then see the price ($30) and walk away.  (that's a bit expensive for a mid-grade grocery store in this area)

and droopy tulips?  c..ome with the territory.  forced bulbs will never have the correct amount of light they need to grow strong and happy.  they are just going to flop.  in the stores we actually stake them with sticks and string so they stand up and look more apealing..

    off to play some more!!

The blue orchids are beautiful! The whole display is so cheerful..and yes, perfectly balanced.
