Elsa blogged about this before, I believe so I figured I'd bring up this topic.

How do oppositions manifest itself in your own relationships?

I have a Venus/Uranus opposition. This manifests itself through resenting my partner (mainly previous partners) for having their own set of activities or friends. Last week, I realized that I was not fulfilling a need: my need for individuality and fulfilling my own set of goals and wishes. With my current partner, I don't find this problem apparent since I've known him for so long before we even dated, but I saw this as a pattern with previous partners.

I also have a Mercury/Jupiter opposition: in Pisces and Virgo - which supposedly are mutually receptive. I am not sure how to interpret this yet, but Elsa once told me that this is very good for creative activities.

So what are your chart opposition aspects and how do they manifest themselves?

I have Venus opp. Neptune.  I have often projected my idealism not only on potential partners, but also on places.  I used to think that moving would change my life, if only I could move to that gorgeous place, I would solve all of my problems.  Or, wow this guy is the best, and he is PERFECT for me.  Most of the time I left the people and the places, and quickly too.  After a long time, I finally can see this when it starts, and put the brakes on - thank goodness!

Moon and Venus opposite Pluto - I mainly stick to being alone, I don't let people get too close to me, yet when I do (talking about my last relationship and my best friend back at school) I suddenly get very possessive of them and get angry if any others try to "take them away".

Also Neptune opposite Midheaven - I'm really sensitive to what other think and say, and any arguments in the home is totally unbearable.  Plus I generally have a complete lack of confidence around people.

To be honest, I just avoid any kind of relationship/friendships these days, as I've had so many problems in the past, and prefer being alone these days.

I have that same problem..leading too me getting commitment phobia in all kind of relationships...because I might get jealous at one point ..its crap, my moon only squeres pluto

I have  mars opposite pluto...and I am almost allways convinced that people do not like me...even people I have been friends with for 10plus years...I am just waiting that they are going to admit it sooner of later...

the funny/sad thing , I spend so much time trying to get them to like me if I think they don`t , If I know...for sure ...I could care less...so sad and pathetic really

Interesting how Neptune oppositions project idealism and pluto projections bring out paranoia about something being "taken away" from them (thus evoking manipulative or jealous behaviour).

Chez, I actually have a similar problem as you though I'm currently working through it. Having a Pluto transit helps as it brings the problem to the surface, even if a difficult one. I have a Pluto square Moon natally though, so I tend to get possessive/jealous/manipulative when something is making me feel insecure.

Sun opposed Uranus: I like to be free to run my own life the way I want, at all times. This has been a phenomena since I was 2 and walked off on my parents at the country fair because I wanted to go see the animals. I can feel very alienated and that people do not understand me.

Mercury opposed Uranus: hair-brained ideas that other people laugh at me about. All sudden burts of brilliance when I am mulling/pondering/trouble-shooting. I'm good at solving my own problems. I like to ask questions. I like to take a different route to/from work. I switch up things like how I hold my pen, utensils in the drawer, etc (I like to continually surprise myself to keep my brain sharp)

Venus opposed Pluto: I have a deep-rooted obsession about the issue of control within the relationship. I think about possessions that other people have borrowed and not returned for years after the fact. my love relationships become consuming to say the least.

Mars opposed Pluto: I am a formidable opponent, no I won't beat your ass but I emit rage so clean and crisp when I'm choked people think I'll clock them (I wouldn't unless my life was under threat). I like to get down and dirty during sex.

Jupiter opposed Neptune: Lots of luck, lots of faith. I feel comfortable exploring things I'm not qualified for. I feel that I can fit in anywhere if I'm allowed observer status.

Pluto/IC/Libra opposite moon/MC/Aries. I always seem to draw people to myself who are Machiavellian. Especially bosses.

I used to think I was a victim of bad bosses. It happened often enough, and in almost exactly the same fashion every time, that I realized that these people were being drawn to me to teach me part of who I was that I was denying (mainly the Pluto IC, I mean, who really wants to cop to that?)

Now that I have a better understanding of it, I see that, for better or for worse, these people are actually my allies. They are my "kin." I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with this knowledge yet. What does it mean to know that you're Stalin's BFF?

Saturn will be transiting this mess very soon, so I'm sure I will become more attuned to the origins of this a la my family. Because this is a family signature (my mom has Mars square Pluto, I have Pluto opposite moon in Aries).

So, anyway, that's what oppositions have done with me so far.

Iathina: I've had the same problem (jealousy and worrying whether people hate me and such), which is probably the main reason I hold back from relationships, as I've been so worried that people don't like me or I'm annoying them somehow or something, that I end up trying to please my friends/family and such so much that nowadays as a result when I'm with people I have a hard time making up my mind on certain things because I'm worried I'll make the "wrong" decision, I rarely share the stuff I like with them in case they hate it, and I suppose it makes me kind of fake then.  It's really stupid I know, but I suppose it's one of those lessons in life that we've got to learn to get over.

Lunalie: Yep, that's what it all boils down to: "insecurity" - probably the biggest hurdle for many people like ourselves to overcome.  (As a Taurus moon, venus and north node this is something I definitely need to get over as I need stability and security in myself, which I'm presuming you strive for as well being Cancer moon and also Venus in Taurus?).

I have Sun opposition Moon, so I've found myself on both ends... either accusing other people of being too weak-willed, shallow, and wishy-washy, or else accusing them of being too aggressive and self-centered.

I also have Moon opposition Mercury, which means I've been on two other ends... I've accused some people of being too personal and subjective in their thinking, and also accused them of too crudely rational.

Jupiter opposition Pluto is one I'm still trying to figure out, but I suppose it does sometimes feel as if my growth is inhibited by other people's power. Very hazy, though.

Chez: Yes! I strive for security ALL THE TIME! My Cancer Moon is probably the strongest influence of my chart and God knows I'm ALWAYS aware of my insecurities! I hate having to fight off the Pluto and Mars squares all the time when I have a stable base (the Moon/Venus and Saturn/Moon and Venus/Saturn trine is in the bottom of my chart). This needs to be cultivated a LOT more.

I also forgot to mention I have two other oppositions:

Ascendant opp. Pluto: I'll have a tendency to attract very powerful/intense people, which has happened mainly in my youth. Oh and lately maybe because of the Pluto transit, I've been encountering Scorpios - including the man I'm dating.

Moon opp. Midheaven - I find that this is the aprt ofme where I often worry - "If I go public, will my family be ok?" I often worry what my family would say/think about me, sometimes to the point that I "hide" even when what I really want the most is shine.

My chart is mostly eastern. I have only one opposition unless you are using asteroids....

But using just planets I have saturn opp neptune: 9th and 3rd....

And I often wonder if I rarely project because of this. Or I am able to check myself pretty quick. And feel I can spot projectors sooo fast. And they bug me cuz they can't see their blind spots. Or maybe that's just ego on my part--

Using asteroids I've got uranus and chiron in opposition as well as jupiter opposing ceres -- 2nd and 8th houses.

Hmm, money issues, intimacy issues. Rings true.

Oppositions involve other people. They force your hand, force you to deal.... I have oppositions by transit now and it's VERY uncomfortable

I have Saturn opposition Chiron and Mars and Venus opposition M.C. I can't figure out how they affect me. I'm super loyal though.

Moon in Scorp 1st house opposed Mars in Taurus 7th house.

Mercury in Cancer 9th house opposed Saturn in Cappy 3rd house.

I don't know much about the mercury/saturn opposition - I have read really nothing very positive about my moon/mars opposition.

I am possessive as hell regarding my husband - I have always been that way, and he knew it long, long before we got married!  Besides, it is not something I could ever hide.  And since we just passed our 20 year anniversary, I guess he was meant to be the man for me.
