Thinking of going back to school...this is one option...

They are a for-profit school that is WASC (not APA) accredited (this worries me a bit) and they offer a PhD program for about $75k in Depth Psychology with an Emphasis in Community Psychology, Liberation Psychology, and Ecopsychology Program.

Pacifica does not require you to take the GRE exam...I wonder if this school is a bogus scam.  $75k is a lot of money to pay for a piece of paper.

    I'd appreciate any insights/thoughts/experiences, thanks!

That is a lot.  Have you checked their reviews, complaints, etc on different college review or bbb/complaint boards? Have you tried contacting some of their graduates to see how they are faring and what their experiences were like on social networking sites?

    Reviews have not been good...

I sent away for more info about their program and someone called me later that same day.  No school I know does this...students are usually scrambling and chasing THEM down, not the other way around...gets my Scorpio all suspicious.

Why would you get a non APA accredited degree? That seems bogus to me.

    Smells like a degree mill.

(though I keep threatening to throw caution to the wind and go get my DVM from the University of Grenada--degree mill or not! lol I am **soooo*** just kidding. It's the beachside student housing and cyute alpaca photos in their brochures talkin' when I say that.)

That's exactly what I was thinking, Caroline.  I'm bummed, caz the program sounded really interesting, but the reviews were really bad.

LOL CP.  I liked the review that said it was so SoCal...flakey bakey unstable types galore...

Googling the name of the institution + scam will usually answer that question for you about anything.

Sorry Jennifer but I agree with Caroline/CP.  Sounds sketchy to me.
