Well....wait. There's more conversation involved and she asks him a direct question. It wasn't that hard hitting and isolated.
I mean, yes, it's definitely still apt, but there's more to it than just "Pisces brings up love out of thin air to deflect reality".
Her: ".....and I see how you are with money; you don't understand it".
Him: (confirming with a nod) "I was -very- poor."
(more conversation where she's clearly upset with him)
Her: "What would you do if you were me? Would you love you?"
Him: "I was surprised you ever loved me."
Sorry, I didn't mean to take the side of Pisces or Capricorn.
I do think the whole passage is a pretty good illustration of the combo. Those quotes weren't meant to be a transcript, they were just "Cap" and "Pisces" sound bites I grabbed.
And in general, Don's usually "creative" and "mysterious" and has multiple lives and likes to disappear on a moment's notice (drinking stereotypes optional, they're all fish on this show.) Betty's always heading up committees, planning parties, giving orders to the kids, executing wills - how Cardinal is that?

I know "actors" are supposed to be distinct from their "characters", but have you ever seen any characters more Capricorn (January Jones) and more Pisces (Jon Hamm) (their real signs) than Betty and Donald Draper? She just has such command, with him and with the kids. In this episode, his dreamy-eyed confidence gives way to this hapless game of pretend and mistaken identity, as he gulps drink after drink while she skewers him.

At 5:36:
Betty: All this time I thought you were some football hero who hated his father. I knew you were poor. I knew you were ashamed of it. I see how you are with money. You don't understand it.
...
Don: I was surprised you ever loved me.
