Please VOTE for the Rosetta Tarot...

...if you like it, that is!
A popular tarot website called Aeclectic Tarot has an annual contest for (drumroll, please):
Top Ten Decks of 2011 and also Top Ten Decks of All Time!
The Rosetta Tarot was released in Nov 2011, so I was hoping that my friends here who like the deck would consider voting. All you need to provide is an email address and you never get spam from them.
The link to vote is here http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/vote.shtml
If you haven't seen the cards in action, I gave one-card readings on Elsa's site not long ago here http://boards.elsaelsa.com/topic/full-moon-tarot-readings-by-the-artist-of-the-rosetta-tarot
or to see more cards you can go to the website in my profile.
Thanks so much for considering it! The Leo moon has made me bold enough to ask
Since I don't do Facebook and stuff I am just asking my friends and customers who have the deck to vote. I know some of you tarot people have it or have seen it in action here so was hoping it was ok to ask.
I'd be honored if you all would help see if we can get it into the Top Ten of either category!
A sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to you all! I really appreciate it - you guys are my only network, and I'm very grateful! Big
thanks!
The voting goes until Feb 15th, so I'll shamelessly bump again near the end of the month, and let you all know how it goes. Maybe soon we can do some more reading on here if anyone is game too!
Thanks again

Hey thanks you guys!
I am having weird feelings about how to feel (leave it to an Aqua moon as to that!), and a moral dilemma as well.
As far as how to feel, I logically try to tell myself not to get my hopes up, as it is unlikely that my little self published deck can compete against the mass marketed ones who have probably sold thousands, or even compete with other self publishers who started earlier in the year (I published in November) and so have a bigger following already. Plus the fact that I am not on Facebook and Twitter is likely somewhat of a handicap! (Still stubbornly glad about not being on there though)
But in spite of my Mr Spock Moon, I have a Sagittarian Sun, ever optimistic, that says, "Well why not, you have gotten favorable reviews, believe!"
So up & down as in "eh who cares I can't get in the top ten" to "hell ya I have as much of a chance as anyone". Up & down, pessimist/optimist but what the heck as they say about the lottery ya can't win if you don't play, so I will at least try to spread the word about the Rosetta amongst the peeps I can!
The moral dilemma is, I haven't voted yet. I only have a small twinge of the old "is it ok to vote for yourself?" tape playing in my head as far as the "Top Ten of 2011" goes, as *I* like mine the best out of the 2011 offerings, it would be weird if I didn't wouldn't it?
But it is the "top ten of all time" that gets me wondering, as I can't decide to just say "heck ya, I like mine the best of all time" lol or should I vote for Crowley's Thoth, which was a major inspiration, or for the RWS, which was the first deck I learned and got me on the path.
It is kind of like when I was a kid, and my mom bought two pairs of flip flops, a blue and a green, and one was for me, and one for my brother. She asked me which one I wanted and I couldn't decide as I was afraid that one of their *feelings* would be hurt. Haha! Is that Libra, a form of anthropomorphism for inanimate objects, or psychosis?
Anyway, thanks for your votes and go team Rosetta!
vote for yourself.
i used to have this dilemna. but, really, brass tacks: if you can't vote for yourself why should anyone else?? (i did, vote for you, but that's not the point.)
in other situations you can support others. in this one, support yourself. that matters.
From a marketing perspective, no, you probably can't compete (yet?!!!)... but your average punter knows what they like & that's what they're voting for. You are looking at this from a different angle- they don't care a fig who put the deck out!
I think you should vote for yourself... you DO like your deck best! Plus... imagine if you didn't & then you lost out by one vote ![]()
I think it would be wrong to vote multiple times for yourself... I know someone in a photography comptetion who went & registered a zillion e-mail addys so he could do this. That to me was really off, I wouldn't want to win that way (can you say HOLLOW VICTORY?!), but that's NOT your plan. & Hey, even Politicians vote & there is no way in Hell they're voting for the opposition now, is there? ![]()
Also, re facebook... I have EXACTLY the same dilemma. I have refused to sign myself up all this time, I really dislike the whole thing, but I am being advised by peeps I trust & respect, who know about business & all that jazz, that I am making a fatal mistake. My competition doesn't have a problem... they're out there doing the do... & wether I like it or not, the MAJORITY do. So, I'm shooting myself in the foot =( I am told I can set up a page for the product alone... nothing personal about me in there & the consensus is becoming so great that I think I'm going to have to swallow barbed wire & just DO IT. Thought I'd pass that on... so you know you aren't alone. I feel like I'd be selling out... being a hypocrite, but I'm told it's the way things are now & to get over it. Gah!!!
It was the least I could do! Good luck! And even if you don't win (it is difficult to compete against decks released much earlier in 2011, and mass marketed ones), we still like yours best!
I sent this out in an email to subscribers and thought the tarot lovers on here might find some of them funny.
Top Ten Reasons to Vote for the Rosetta Tarot:
10.) Review just in! "The Rosetta Tarot is hands down The Best Deck of 2011." -- The artist's mother
9.) Four out of five dentists recommend the Rosetta Tarot over sugary, fwuffy decks.
8.) The Rosetta Tarot is a Thoth-based pirate in a Rider Waite Smith sea. (Argh! Vote for the Rosetta. Or, you can date a sea captain! http://www.seacaptaindate.com/browse.html Aye, and I be thankin' Elsa for the link! http://boards.elsaelsa.com/topic/date-a-sea-captain)
7.) The Rosetta Tarot is a traditional tarot with true occult meaning, and the suits have not been arbitrarily renamed Mugs, Plates, Chopsticks and Butter Knives, with an added fifth suit, Sporks.
6.) The artist will never ask you to "Like" them on Facebook or "Follow" them on Twitter. However, the artist may ask you to "Drink" to them on special occasions.
5.) The Rosetta is not a collage deck or digitally produced. Each card-sized work of art was hand painted by candlelight with a single yak hair, resulting in the artist's new nickname, Blind Lemon Quasimodo.
4.) There are no vampires in the deck. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
3.) The Rosetta Tarot is fortified with 200% of the recommended daily allowance of Ten Essential Sephira, 22 Major Arcana, and 5 trace elements.
2.) No cats were forced to pose in renaissance garb in the making of this deck.
And the number one reason to vote for the Rosetta is:1.) "It's a two party system. You have to vote for one of us. " -- Kodos "It does not matter which way you vote. Either way your planet is doomed. Doomed. Doomed." -- Kang

"Don't blame me -- I voted for Rosetta." - Homer SimpsonPlease vote for the Rosetta Tarot now at www.aeclectic.net/tarot/vote.shtmlFeel free to pass this on or post it anywhere you think people might be amused!
(For entertainment purposes only, no insult intended to those who resemble these remarks!)

(You don't have to sign up for anything and won't get any spam from them; I've voted for stuff in prior years and never got so much as an email)
Thanks to everyone here who already voted. We need to do another round of readings sometime. Alethea has a copy now and mentioned she would be up for it too!
Yay! It would be so cool if she could do a round of readings here!
I did a reading for myself on Sunday when I was feeling the worst, and the card that I drew made so much sense to me. It was the perfect card, and it was funny because I asked about what might be the cause of feeling so down, but the answer was not only about the cause but also about what could help me to overcome it. 2in1!
Oh, and yeah, I voted a long time ago and have received no spam or other annoying messages.
The results are in today!!
Thanks to everyone who voted, the Rosetta Tarot got the number ONE spot for "Top Ten Decks Published in 2011!
(and even made it into the list of Top Ten Decks of All Time!)
Thank you all SO MUCH for your support!
May your generosity return to you a millionfold!
I just found out this morning - still beaming!
Wow! This is so amazing! You totally deserve it, yes, but I also thought that it's impossible to compete with the commercially produced, higher volume decks! Really great that genuine art won!
