So after my yoga session today, I felt a tingle in between my eyes for the first time. According to my yoga instructor, this area is called the "third eye" or the "seat of the mind" (I think?). I was also told that it was a chakra point. I mentioned that during chavasna (sp?) I felt this tingle in this very spot. The only other time I feel this spot is when I have sinus pain! So she explained that this means that I had an awakening of some sort - and energy has been released after this session. She also explained that if people twitch during relaxation (yogic relaxation), this means that energy is coming out of us.

Now, yoga was never effective to me until recently when I was actually taught the right way. The first time I tried yoga, I almost literally got HIGH... BLISS that I've never felt in my life. It was strange to me. This bliss never returned, though every yoga class left me very relaxed.

I would like to hear more about your yoga experiences and whether or not you feel that various chart factors affect the potency of this practice. Please feel free to share your stories!

I have a 12th house sun, 9th house neptune and 4th house cancer moon. I guess in a way, I'm connected to the cosmos... hah!

When I first started doing yoga (about 5 years ago now, though I don't do it lately) I couldn't stop crying. Maybe it was the environment, or the postures, or the music...my teacher was amazing, and the style they taught at that studio was continuous flow. Lots of encouragement to let go.

Fish posture is a favorite...opens the chest and throat right up. I have a yod with 12th House Neptune/10th House Pluto and the Sun at the apex. I feel like I'm continuously being pushed and pulled between the belly of the Earth and the Heavens. I finally wrote to the Studio director and asked her about crying during yoga. She wrote back saying that she thought it was an indication that I find it equally as easy to hold on as I do to let go. The bond between the small self and the bigger, more ethereal self. That resonated.

I always cry if you give me laughing gas. Wonder if I'd laugh if given crying gas?

Er, sorry - not really on topic.

To contribute to the topic at hand, I do love yoga though.  I do it by myself (I don't like classes, and I don't like rooms of people.) using the Light on Yoga book by B.K.S. Iyengar.

Come to think of it, Neptune is in my 4th house/Scorpio so maybe that is why I like to be at home for stuff like this?

I do shadow yoga which uses movements from martial arts in a flowing sequence.  It is beautiful to look at - check it out on Youtube - and very grounding.  It is still small and not offered in too many places which I also like.  It feels very authentic.

It suits me very well with my mars/pluto conjunction I like the warrior aspect and with pluto transiting conjunct the moon I deal with the shadow on daily basis.

    kash:

Wow you started crying when you first started yoga? That's amazing! There was probably a part of yourself that opened up that time. Another thing that happened to me is the night that I did yoga for the first time, I experienced a series of really bad nightmares. I still don't know what it means (I'm afraid to ask)... Nightmares are very frequent/common to me (which is why I get insomnia).

Fish pose is also my favourite. The first time I did yoga, I had a really bad pressure headache from the weather and the fish pose made it a lot better. I also like shoulder stands. I couldn't hold myself for long, at first, but now I can do three minutes on that pose without problems.

    Bella:

I'd like to look into Shadow yoga. I have a Pluto transit to my sun and later in the next couple years, Pluto will oppose my moon and conjunct my midheaven. I think I'd like to explore this.

Lunalie, I know that pluto feeling.  It squared my sun, immediately conjuncted my moon and as soon as that finishes it squares my mars/pluto conjunction.

Now is definitely the time for yoga and a healthy diet.  Good time to detoxify any emotions too.  Was advised recently to scan my mind and emotions to see if anything was still stuck as now is the time to let it all go.  I think its good advice because I am finding myself being a total cow at the moment - not out loud, just in my own head  Go yoga!

Here is a link to the question I posed to my teacher, and her response, which was a huge comfort. I wonder if this link will work?

    ((((kashmiri))))!

I'm a huge crier too. It doesn't take much to make me cry, so I KNOW what you mean!!!

    Bella:

I think the hard part for me is detoxing emotions. I couldn't quite figure out how this is done! Although I've been told by a friend that sometimes bad dreams are a form of detoxing - bringing issues to the surface, so to say, in the unconscious realm.

I just woke up from a nap and had a terrible dream, actually. I wish I could afford to see a psychotherapist, but I think it's not so good at this time, knowing that I'm unemployed.

stress causes nightmares, as do head injuries. Aries rules the head. What degree is your Aries stuff, Lunalie?

Kashmiri, I just read that - what she describes is very much Zen which really works for me.  It was like a light went on when I first read about Zen because that was exactly how I felt naturally in nature - just have to learn how to do it the rest of the time.

Anyway, am digressing but thanks for the post.

Lunalie, sorry about the nightmares.  That isn't good.  I rarely have them but have had a few over the past few months and it did make me think of pluto - as though stuff was just rearing its head.  I don't know how you deal with this directly but I think the yoga should help for sure.

    Kashmiri:

Nightmares seem to run in the family. My younger brother, a Sagittarius is very prone to nightmares so like me, he sometimes avoids sleep. Head problems (headaches and migraines) are very very common for both of us as well.  My youngest brother, a Scorpio, does not seem to have the problems we have.

My sun is in 4 degrees Aries (12th) and my Ascendant is in 18 deg.

I also read your link and I really relate to what you've described. I relate to the fear of the unknown. Heck, I go through it all the time!

    Bella:

The nightmares have been worse since Pluto hit my sun. I've been getting them before, but they've gotten worse.

A lot of the nature of my nightmares seem to be about loss and betrayal of some form. I have a 7th house Pluto in Libra so I'm sure anything relationship-related is being activated at this point. I would not just dream of myself too... For instance, the "nightmare" I had during my last nap is of another person (whom I don't know) in whose point of view I can see myself in. So weird.

Lunalie, wow that really is weird.  Wish I had to more to suggest apart from staying grounded with yoga and good diet - good basis anyway.   Have to get zzzz in now but really good luck with it all.
