I thought I was an Aquarius rising until I was almost 30 and computer software came out. It was a shock and a shift - it just jolt you but the right chart rules!
Moonpluto....I always thought I was a Virgo rising and it didn't make sense to me when I would read the sign description or the descendant, because I pull alot more Aquarians towards me than Pisces, but in talking to my grandmother one day about my birth she verified the time for me. Once I read the Leo rising, it made much more sense because I have invariably in the past been mistaken for a more bouyant sign than Capricorn and I beilieve Leo explains that. Sure wish I had Aries or Scorpio in me....they seem more dynamic and stronger to me!
I feel I have the pride and ego of the leo-ness. But not the extroversion. My sister is a double leo and also is not extroverted-- I always thought of leo rising as not shy, as life of party type. But I suppose a quiet radiance is possible? A quiet sun? See? Would a virgo rising go on and on about oneself here? Of course it is anonymous (ecept to elsa who has my real name!)
Of course humans are complex and rising is one piece of the puzzle but it is a huge shift (for me anyway :)
Denamaria: just by your picture, you look leo not virgo rising
Elsa, how do you figure out what really is the truth? Short of doing a whole rectification of birth time etc
moonpluto, my sister calculated our charts when we were kids. She was 10 years old!! She made an error (on mine but not hers) which we discovered when the local astro bookstore started selling charts and I went down and got mine..
I should say she was not far off by degree. I still have Aquarius in my first house and uranus in apsect to the ascendant so the energy is there.
I see-- I don't know your rising. Kind of assuming it is Cap- but I can see how you would be mistaken for aquarius rising or sag rising of course
In my situation, I have a birth certificate birthtime and everything the same on any computerized chart
But it was this other astrologer doubting the time was correct-- partly based on my appearance and energy in person. And friends who know some astrology are agreeing--
I thought I was an Aquarius moon for the longest time, but read all of the information and it simply didn't sound like me at all. I then learned that I had the incorrect birth information. After correcting it all, I found out I was a Pisces moon and everything made quite a bit more sense.
As for scorpio rising, I didn't have to have some correct chart to prove it. I read it and instantly knew that's what I was.
The other reason it made sense for me....the Leo rising is that I am also very bossy, especially to those near and dear to me. I am much more introverted than I appear though....Cap. Sun.

A couple years ago, an astrologer told me she thought my rising sign was leo instead of virgo.
Now, I have moon in virgo and venus in leo -- so both energies are there already with me.
But lately, this has been on my mind and I am starting to believe she is correct for various reasons and am starting to believe it explains a lot about me that didn't make sense before.
Has anyone been through this? I know the rising is more a facade than anything but it does change my descendent ruler, etc.... And frankly feels like an identity shift somehow.
Please share your stories if you have them about rectified birthtimes or risings, etc ettc
