A fixed star Regulus is now at zero degree in Virgo (it left Leo on 28th Nov.) and will oppose Neptune also at zero degree in a few days. The aspect will remain in opposition for a few years. So i decided to ramble on about it.

Regulus in Virgo i guess will put more importance on duty, skill, and hard work, its also an earth sign, so it should be directly oriented to deal with earth issues. By the way, the creator of Gaia theory is Virgo. The theory basically looks at the earth as a self- regulating, ONE organism. I personally am very interested in energy politics and i think this astrological shift may bring change in how people manage their resources, both in their own yard and globally. Hopefully mercury will help to find new ways of adapting to our own resources. Perhaps people will learn how to live with less. Moving from the era of abundance and egocentrism into era of humility?

Perhaps finding new ways to reconnect with nature may become important, not just because of climate change (nevermind whether climate change is man- made or not, the planet will be tired of sustaining an increasing population). Pluto will continue to square uranus till 2015 if i am correct, so to incorporate Regulus in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces, natural resources will experience challenges, perhaps giving way to renewable or any other innovative (uranus in aries) structure (pluto in cap) of resource.

Will the needs and priorities of societies change and in what way? Perhaps there will be a new state system, which is yet unkown. You know, like societies moved from Empires, colonies, independent states, now we can see how the EU struggles to sustain itself. Perhaps there will be new unions?

Will there be a change of attitude towards money? Virgo is calculative and meticulous, Pisces doesn't care about it.

Interesting comment Cherry. As powerful fixed star Regulus will be at 0 degrees Virgo for a long time ('fixed' stars move very slowly), and Neptune is just entering Pisces to oppose it, perhaps this signals the closing of the Pisces-Virgo age (cleanliness is next to Godliness, the miracles involving the bread (Virgo) and the fishes (Pisces), the Protestant work ethic (Pisces-Virgo), the time of the compassionate and spiritual christ child (Pisces) born from a virgin (Virgo), and many other examples). And the many Uranus-Pluto squares occurring over the next few years certainly suggest a major global system upgrade! "Powerful spiritual communication" may fit as a sort of keyphrase for this combination of celestial bodies.

Do you consider Chiron to be in orb, too? Chiron/Neptune opposing Regulus seems potentially very healing.

I don't have anything insightful to add here, just wanted to say thanks for posting this. Very interesting to think about.

Sooo today i felt like 'Eureka!' after reading Ernst & Young report. It felt like the world is predicted to be more mutable than fixed. I know it may sound like a cliche, but i do believe there will be some big changes in the way people work and live. Whats interesting is that any big crisis (such as Depression in 1930s) brought the most progressive changes in the way we live (rise in electrical power, subways, public health, sanitation, infrastructure, highway systems). Though we had to learn to live in smaller apartments and spend less on food. Now we will have to find a way how to spend less on energy or how to consume less due to depleting resources. The main idea seemed that we will basically have to rely on local resources in order to maintain our standard of living.

It also vaguely mentioned the term 'unobvious others', which i still don't really get just what specifically it meant. These 'unobvious others' sounded like outsiders to the industry's network, yet who will be involved with the professionals in informal, short- term relationships. Anyway, this vague term reminded me of Pisces. It also suggested that 'localized and customized manufacturing is the future'. So one thing seems clear- people will have to do some hard work locally in order to reap the harvest (Virgo), but just how they will do it remains not very clear (Pisces) and remains uknown.

I wonder what this means regarding our leaders - isn't Regulus a fixed star representing kings and leaders? A shift from Leo leaders to Virgo, hmm. On the positive maybe more service-oriented rather than grandstanding egotistical leaders? Or more critical and less generous leaders? What do you think?

@Wizron - Neptune will be in Pisces, do you think this will magnify or decrease the importance of this axis - you mentioned closing? I'm not following very well embarrassed

@ Cherry - I think "unobvious others" might refer to collaborators, short term partnerships, just-in time and customized processing for those who can afford it, detailed work, as well as hidden workers. This is the part I'm worried most about, the hidden and suffering mass of workers (pisces-virgo) or lack/disappearance of nutrition and harvests (pisces-virgo).

@starkttn: I haven't done any research on Regulus, so I am just riffing off my intuiton here (and could well be barking up the wrong tree). But what I was hinting at is that Regulus' change from Leo (dictators) to Virgo (service oriented, and turning chaos into order) could coincide with the huge 'system upgrade' that the world will undoubtedly go through within the next 5 years or so, symbolized by Pluto (death and rebirth) in Capricorn (the system), and squared by Uranus in Aries (new beginnings for all of humanity). Neptune now in Pisces could symbolize a whole new spiritual approach to life and love on this planet, in line with the new system falling into place.

Yes, Regulus is a Royal star representing Kings/leaders.

I had this idea that maybe the struggle towards the so called 'new world order' will be between this dualism of rationality (Virgo) vs. illusion (Pisces). For example, extreme 'greens', who have become more like ideologists. To quote one article, 'experiments at the CERN laboratory in Geneva have supported the theory of Danish physicist Henrik Svensmark that the  sun- not man-made CO2- is the biggest driver of climate change'. To be more specific, sun's intensity is at its lowest levels since the 17th c.

Many NGOs (Pisces) benefit from getting government funds into so called climate research, which is a mere self-fulfilling prohphecy. Climate Research Unit was given millions in grants for research, so of course it had to maintain all this scaremongering to fulfill the expectations. For politicians green scaremongering is an excuse to create new taxes, and still look good because they did it for a noble reason. For big energy monopolies green taxes mean their smaller competitors will struggle.

Another schoking theme is biofuels, which have damaged the rainforests, land and again has been a scam with big money involved. I know that the EU has even hidden a report on it in order not to look stupid. The truth is, biofuels produce 4 times more CO2 pollution than fossil fuel. I am NOT pro fossil fuel at all, i know in a long run humanity needs to find alternative resources, but there has been a wide spread illusion, which fed those who could fool many.

So hopefully Neptune in Pisces won't create even more illusions in earth matters (Virgo).
