As far as connections go, my descendant (WHERETO) is this:
Leo 7:
The wonder of the constellations of stars in the night sky.
Which is pretty appropriate considering my love of astrology!
I've read also that the Sabians should always be read in pairs, so if you are interested in Virgo 28, also read its opposite, Pisces 28
<div class="commentpicdiv">(I posted this on another thread a while back) <div class="commentpicdiv">I have only had my chart done once about 13 years ago by my fav bald british astrologer. It was based on the time mum remembered. It charted me as Leo Rising. I was so jazzed! Because I love the energy of Leo. Come to find my record of birth with a different time put me at Cancer rising. I was devastated. Then I looked at the sabian symbol for my ascendant at Cancer and it is : A Prima Donna Singing. It seems very Leoline to me? <div class="commentpicdiv">SaDiablo, because there is no sabian symbol for 0 degrees, I have also heard to round the point up to the next highest number. But I have found that the exact number resonates more for me. So if your sun is say at 28 7, you would read 29. Or both 28 and 29. <div class="commentpicdiv">I have linda hill's book as well as Dale's at home. When I get home tonight I can scan their interpretations and send them to you in a private message if you like. I love the sabian symbols and Linda is pretty good at interpreting them.
Hi!
I noticed some visitors from this blog searching my Sabian Sage Daily newsletter. Thank you to whoever directed attention to my work.
Please note that there is a companion blog, Blain Bovee Sabian Symbol Specialist' that can be visited for a more general discussion of each Sabian symbol, how to understand and apply Sabian symbols. By now, there will be at least two entries in the blog archive on Virgo 28... and please do not forget to read the opposing degree symbol as well. My work is with the original Sabian symbols... not someone's version of the symbols. There is a wealth of information I invite all to take freely.
One comment mention the 00 degree placement. Always round up. 00 degrees of any sign is the first degree Sabian symbol.
Often people will feel a resonance with earlier and later Sabian symbols. this reflects the way the symbols flow into one another... a nuance you will quickly appreciate through my on-going discussion in the Sabian sage Daily and the Sabian symbol blog.
Happy to help in any questions if I can.
Interesting site! Keep up the good work,

As for weird connections, I've noted several instances of interesting coincidences in the realm of mundane astrology. One most interesting example comes from the date and timing of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech. A chart constructed for sunrise on August 28, 1963 will show Venus at 3 VI (Virgo 4: A colored child playing with white children) and the Sun at 4 Virgo (Virgo 5: A man dreaming of fairies). I've collected many examples like this over the years.
Also, I've noted that many a movie, short story, and novel are built around certain combinations of the Sabian symbols, usually five-pointed stars. Once you know to look for this, it's rather easy to see. Here are a few recent examples. Last year's installment of the Batman franchise, The Dark Knight, is built around the following five symbols, each spaced 72 degrees apart.
Cancer 25: A dark shadow or mantle thrown suddenly over the right shoulder.
Libra 7: A woman feeding chickens and protecting them from hawks
Sagit 19: Pelicans moving their habitat.
Pisces 1: A public market
Taurus 13: A man handling baggage.
Another recent example would be the indie film "Sunshine Cleaning." It's built around this star:
Taurus 18: A woman holding a bag out of a window.
Cancer 30: A Daughter of the American Revolution.
Libra 12: Miners emerging from a mine.
Sag 24: A bluebird standing at the door of the house.
Pisces 6: Officers on dress parade.

I've done detailed write ups of several of these. Anyone who is interested can feel free to drop me a line.

So I went to check out the sabian symbols for my angles after Vajra posted a cool link about it on the "descendant" thread. Unfortunately, I can't find a site with the meanings right now, cafeastrology is down ATM.
But this was kinda neat: the symbol for my IC (28 Virgo) is "A bald-headed man in uniform has seized power."
Interesting because, depending on your orbs, my IC is also widely conjunct my Mars-Venus-Pluto, and my ex is a bald-headed, uniformed man to whom I lent a lot of power. *laughs* Very "whoah!" right now. After I read the interpretation of this symbol, maybe not so much.
Anyone else find strange connections with their sabian symbols?
