I bet this year's winter olympics is going to feature some outstanding ice-skating couples!  

It is always one of my favorites to watch, but something tells me there will be a couple or two that really takes the spotlight this year.  I have always thought that this particular art-form so beautifully displays couples when they are in perfect harmony with each other.

you know it's funny... I am so not an Olympics person but last night I saw a segment on tv about pairs skating and was riveted.  good call.

I always follow the Winter Olympics. But I am always irritated at the wall-to-wall coverage of skating when I want to see more of the speed competitions. I need more XC-Ski, Biathlon, luge, Giant Slalom, etc. And less of the trendy new events like snowboarding.

I got a TiVo for the last olympics, it could record hours of material overnight but you could review through hours of reruns looking for one obscure event. They just didn't give much coverage to the non-headline sports even in off hours. Or maybe it's just nationalistic coverage, we see lots of events where Americans do well (skating) but fewer events like Cross Country Skiing (dominated by Sweden, Norway, etc). 

At least this olympiad is in a relatively close time zone so all the good stuff isn't happening overnight. 

I actually caught the US mens figure skating finals on tv the other day.  That was some mars in leo high drama right there.

The skating is also my favorite part of the winter Olympics, but I'm so with you on the coverage, Charles.  I'm always proud when the US wins, but I sure would like to see some of the other sports and excellent athletes from other parts of the world.  At least this time it's in a US time zone!
