Saturn in Scorpio: Fear of STDs
posted 11 months ago in News and Current Events
Well, Elsa, I'm already taking my pants off less :P
I think excessive socialization, in general, will wane. Scorpio has an introverted side.
I hope that people become more aware of the social (Libra) stigma (Scorpio) side of STI's.
After AIDS, I am worried about what this next Saturn return will bring. I remember when I was in 5th grade, the AIDS quilt was brought to my town. They spread it out on the high school football field and told us that this was only part of it, that other pieces of the quilt were traveling to other towns to spread awareness.
My ex is obsessive compulsive and DEATHLY afraid of catching AIDs. It's part of his compulsion and he has saturn in Scorpio.
We lived on the edge of West Hollywood, which is a predominantly gay district. If he ever saw a person that he thought *might* have had AIDS, particularly if they were gay, he would go home and wash himself for hours on end. If we were at a grocery store, we would be barred from returning to that store until he was certain the "AIDS" were gone.
It was really sad. :/ It made him seem like a crazy bigot, when he was anything but. Irrational fear kind of intensified by OCD, in an otherwise super smart guy. Drove me up a wall. Neither of us wanted him to have to take meds because the side effects were awful for him. He's gotten better over the years, though. :)
*shudder*
I've always had a fear of getting a disease like that. I *may* have taken my celibacy/cleanliness a little too far over my lifetime so far....Saturn conj Pluto, but I meant well, and it's been worth it in many ways.
Truthfully, I'm hoping Saturn in Scorpio takes a good look at my Scorpio DC self, and says something along the lines of, "Dang girl, I said be careful, not go without! And you've got a packed 6th house, and I just passed thru it and cleaned it out. You know how to take care of you. Now where to find a nice partner to get you responsibly laid finally. Seriously, I didn't think you'd wait that long. I think you've waited long enough already kiddo."
Lol. Or something like that. A friend of mine who has a chart like mine in many ways didn't get around to some sex until her SR and it transited her 8th house. As I found love with Saturn t. my 5th, and the only planet I have in Scorpio is Jupiter, I'm really feeling good, and optimistic about Saturn in Scorpio. If sexual responsibility and caution are needed, I think I'll do just fine. :)
I think maybe obstaining from sex as a means of birth control.(?) Certainly couples go through this naturally , at some point, when there's kids. Or maybe that's more saturn in cancer?
I remember the pearls before swine analogy. Scorpio's not wanting sex during this transit. Maybe some will be getting fixed. No more relying on women for birth control.
Or maybe the truth will come out about AIDS. There are documentaries about this on you tube. That it was a Big Pharma Lie....they never proved that hiv causes aids, and if you were a doctor (research Microbiologist or Virologist) who talked about this, FDA cut you're funding. They called you an aids denialist.
On you tube: Aids Hiv Hoax. As well as other documentaries.
Yanno, I had a conversation with someone recently who thinks it would be a good idea to offer people money for having voluntary vasectomies. His reasoning was that it would help with population control and prevent drug addicts and the like from bringing kids into the world while using. If they got a quick $500 for signing up to get their shit snipped so they could go out and buy a rock to smoke, so much the better - I can't really say that I find this idea abhorrent. Might be an idea that comes to pass with this mutual reception going down, no? It sure is one method of tackling the shadow side of parenting, I'll say that much.........
Having used condoms before any large public awareness of herpes and before the AIDs discovry, I am dumbfounded by anyone who doesn't use protection. But STDs isn't the only dark side of sex, I would hope Saturn in Scorpio would shed light on mean spirited sexual relations, misogyny, rape, and the focus on younger and younger females as sexually attractive sex partners.
I was shocked to hear about the rise in STD's among seniors. Apparently, this is becoming a big problem now. I'm thinking the rise in senior and assisted living communities may have something to do with this - old people get horny too and when you put a bunch of them together in one place stuff can happen!
All I've been thinking about is, STD's and I've been paranoid about it...
I can feel the Scorpio coming. Saturn is conjuncting my Pluto and then Scorpio Jupiter. So in a few months I'm going to go all pluto.
@orchidorchid "My ex is obsessive compulsive and DEATHLY afraid of catching AIDs. It's part of his compulsion and he has saturn in Scorpio."
My ex is much younger than me, and was born in 1983 (Saturn in Scorp). He was much more concerned about safe sex than me.
It occured to me that men and women this age have never lived in a world without AIDS. This generation was raised that Sex = Death. I think that's a really sad way to grow up.
"This generation was raised that Sex = Death. I think that's a really sad way to grow up."
@Josephine--Sad, but very true even though I'm a year older than your ex. I was born into a world where AIDS was breaking out. And I was told repeatedly how lucky I was/am as a premee born in a large city hospital in 1982 that I didn't get AIDS thru improper blood transfusions. (I had about ten done I believe).
Sex=fear=fear of slowly dying thru sexually transmitted disease=do it responsibly, don't complain about the responsibility, and if you can't handle it, don't do it at all.
I can't imagine growing up without a healthy, if globally conscious fear of sex being equated with death when done really wrong. Saturn in Libra conjunct Pluto in Libra. I would say though that that fear held a lot of my peers, and possibly myself back from trying things earlier in life, and being more daring. Daring has it's limits now, and if I don't believe it, I need only ask my Mom to tell me about some of her friends, and how they died. :( I look at the free lovers of the '60's/70's and just shake my Saturnine head and think, "Um, guys? We're neither blameless nor immortal."
And I remember vividly the generational differences regarding mortality, and safety between myself and TDO, my ex. He was born in 1964, and I think it was his Moon/Neptune conjunction in Scorpio, and possibly Saturn rx in Pisces H1 that may have created a thick veil over the reality of using recreational drugs irresponsibly and the ramifications.
I agree with Elsa on this one. I won't be the least surprised to see many choose to be far less sexually active than they have been. Fear of STDs, intimacy, commitment, etc, etc. For whatever reason, people are going to be far less interested in hooking up for sex.
Scorpio types could withdraw their energy just because they are so damn tired of supporting idiots! LOL
I see myself cutting people off left and right. Sick of the superficiality of some of these rapports.
STIs aren't the end of the world. Even AIDS. Death comes to everyone. You can only postpone the inevitable for so long.
Saturn in Virgo/Libra = effective communication, balanced relationships. Pretty damn important if you want to discuss STIs with a potential partner.
@Althea - I had heard about the rise of STDs in seniors and about that video but hadn't seen it until today. Glad to hear that seniors are still "active".
@Jennifer - great points.
Scorpio is a watery sign, part of the triplet of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces. Each one involves the formation and development of our emotions. Scorpio involves the exchange of emotional energy, which is usually masked by sex or money.
If I marked my Des. as "Soul" in my partnership house, then the 8th would be my "Soul's resources".
So in looking at Saturn in Scorpio, it is a matter of how much focus has been directed towards using outer resources of others and how much focus has been directed developing our inner ones. If our inner resources are sparse, then Saturn brings opportunities to develop them.
@Josephine - As a natal Pluto in the last degrees of Virgo, I'd say that basically all children born since the late 60's have basically grown up where sex = death. I remember when AIDS came out. I had just started high school. I was just becoming aware of myself as a sexual being. It was always a choice that could end with a life altering disease.
I am probably gonna slow my roll before then.
Got a mild (thank god) STI from my monogamous relationship during protected interaction this year.
Turns out his last girlfriend had cheated on him. Surprise.
I think that it gave us a pretty heavy start to the serious part of our relationship. We kinda skipped the light and easy and went right to the O_0?!?!? Big.Topics...
He broke up with me on Monday. I know we both learned a lot of the Saturn in Libra lessons, together, and will remain close. Hopefully, our relationship will grow stronger, even if it must change hats.
Mercury conjunct Mercury. Imma gonna miss those conversations, and someone "getting" me.
(sounds soooo Virgo cold, to read my own words to the public, while I sweep my broken heart under the sofa. I will vacuum later. Sniff. Must be allergies.)

STIs: Diagnoses of increasingly antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea infections rise by 'unprecedented' 25 per cent

While we'll see many, many manifestations of Saturn in Scorpio; it's a given, people are going to take their pants off less often, for whatever reason.
What do you see coming?
