    Great!

Man, it is so hard to get into the mood to jog. Jogging is an intense experience and it takes a lot of dedication.

I hope I build a good habit out of it, but it takes days for it to be a part of your lifestyle.

I took a 10 mile bike ride the other day.

I thought I was going to die. I huffed. I puffed. I was dramatic about it. My ass hurt after.

    BUT....I did it.

that picture is killing me. i find it so funny and i don't even know why!

I think it is it because she has such a serious "G'damn it, I'm walking, here!" vibe.

I partied hard yesterday (what's an unemployed girl to do with all that free food?) and consumed so much carbs imaginable!

I spent the next 4 hours after waking engrossed in some kind of activity: I walked to to and from different grocery stores and got rained on. I cleaned out my cat's litterbox, and I cleaned the tub (because I live in a small apartment and that's the only place I can clean the litterbox thoroughly).

I also bought some beans, olives, sundried tomatoes, grape tomatoes and feta and boccoccini cheese. I didn't even bother with ice cream today. Yay!

Crackers > "I'm in menopause and have a thickening waist."   sigh - know the problem well.   Menopause is weird.....it has so many symptoms....anything can be menopausal!

Does anyone have any experience when Saturn or Uranus crosses the ascendant it is easier to lose weight?

s'funny, but that picture looks like someone I know... she's an aristocrat who owns land where me and my family go for breaks, and she's a great conservationist..this looks so like her! Well done GW and all who have been doing exercise. I have Jupiter transitting the first so heavier right now, but wanted to say to you Rox that both transits made me lose weight.. Uranus over Asc was never being able to sit still for a minute..like being on one of those vibrating plates that shakes the excess off.. and Saturn over Ascendant I was just less self indugent I guess, lost quite a bit of weight

It's the walking stick.  I mean, seriously, can you imagine Elsa with that ugly stick walking around the neighborhood?

So far today I'm up, showered, fed (I never manage to eat breakfast at home, but I made several breakfast options yesterday, so go me!) and on my way out the door with my speedy sparkly shoes.  I'm gonna put in my three miles, just like every day.  I took the weekend off.

Coming up this week, samba class begins!  Tango tomorrow, samba Thursday, and I am jazzed about both.

Happy Monday y'all and a little cheerleading for you *\o/*

45 min walk again, the soldier quit smoking for the 3rd time, it's been about a month this time and Vid is back in karate and started doing sit ups, other stuff.

    No idea what inspired Vid

I'm about to head out to the Employment Insurance office soon. I plan to walk it for 20 mins from the subway station at my old neighbourhood. If I am feeling mroe energetic, I may just go for a walk/run. :) Still consuming minimal carbs, greens and olive oil.

This whole unemployed stint is really a great way to focus on my health. Har har... Hopefully I shed at least 10 lbs, ideally 20 - hopefully before I begin studying full time.

    Good luck everyone!

I did a couple turkish get ups.

    Starting from zero here.

    18.
    rox

jilly - what are turkish get-ups?

Glad to hear those transits help (although I have an inconjunct to mars) cause Saturn is coming up in a bit with Libra rising.  Sure beats child birth which was one saturn asc transit - I sure lost weight all righty!

First I gotta weather saturn crossing the moon (which is opposite mars) while uranus goes opposite it.

Had uranus transit saturn in 1987 > lost a good bit of weight amoung other things

Turkish get ups exercise all your muscles. (My sister taught me all her boot camp exercises last time she visited haha.)

People do it with just their body weight if they are wimpy like me or you can do it holding a kettlebell thing or dumbell.

They look kind of stupid haha but they are hard

Yeah, why does she have a stick on the pavement?! Maybe it's just me but that picture screams suburban repression. Must be the hair.

Not even trying to diet. I figure the world could end tomorrow and I love ice cream. Apparently I am experiencing the beginnings of a Jupiter return and I looked at myself the other day and said "Well, I'm huge but at least I have great big tits.'

i'm doing better with my eating the last week - i do the "just a little won't hurt" routine when, in fact, it REALLY does for me. working on cutting out the questionable stuff and eating cleaner. not picking up the single serving packages of cookies in the quickshop 'cause "I'm stressed and want a treat." buying bigger clothes is not a treat, damnit!

also improving on the water. next destination: exercise! that one's tough for me because when i have any extra energy, i tend to spend it working. but i also need to work on me.

nightowl, you made me chuckle. the ONLY thing I miss about being bigger is totally the rack.

.. AND I managed to convince myself not to bake lemon deserts for dinner.

For anyone interested...a tip that seems to be effective for me (or was last time I managed to lose a lot of weight). Find the most unflattering photo of yourself/body that you can and stick it up where you can see it (I put one on the fridge). It helps remind you of why you are not eating things when you are tempted.

Goddess - you might try thinking of it as spending that extra energy on exercise will actually give you more energy, paying dividends - an investment you can then put into work.  Spending it on work is just spending it.  You get the work, yeah, but nothing extra. Anyway, works for me . . . er, sometimes!

I ran without having an asthma attack yesterday! YAY! Unfortunately, I could not return back to my race pace a couple years ago :( I plan to hold off on races until I feel 100%. For now I'll run/exercise to get my health back in track.

I am such a pig though :( Sure, I eat healthy but I eat a lot :( I really need to discipline myself with carbs. I've cut down the chocolates and ice cream but pasta and rice.. *sighs*... This is brown rice (pasta) too and I remember this spiking my blood sugar up as I ate it. *sigh*

    goddess

Lunalie- Some people can eat Dreamfield's Pasta without blood sugar issues (but those who are very sensitive to the carbs still have issues). Some use spagetti squash in place of pasta as well. And you can make a nice mock rice by cooking califlower, letting it drain/dry, and running through the food processor. It has the right texture, so if you put something else on top of it, passes for rice quite nicely.

    34.
    goddess

    Crackers- An excellent point. :)

    Elsa

On the cauliflower, if you put it in the food processor raw, you can nuke the small rice sized pieces in bowl covered with saran wrap for about 5 minutes and you're done. This is for "firm". People who like mushy may go 7 or 8.

Usually I saute the nuked cauliflower in a some garlic in olive oil to give it flavor. Eat this with shredded beef and beans and you won't miss the rice.

Ohhhh, ahhh: new cauli-rice tips! Thanks, Elsa! I am cooking-challenged.

Night owl, you cracked me up! Thank u.

I haven't smoked since day after memorial day weekend. I got sick then and didn't smoke. And had a cough that took forever to go away and I still cough sometimes. I wish the soldier good luck with the cigarettes. More addictive than heroin

Man, I'm traveling for two weeks, dieting is gonna be hard!

A mixture of stress, exercise, and lots of water has me 2 lbs away from what I weighed when I was 18......10 years and 2 kids later =)

Ready for the trip to San Diego on Friday....with a big chance of swimming with dolphins like I've always dreamed of.  I cried at SeaWorld during the dolphin show a few years ago, and one of my Aries best friends never lets me live it down.  She introduces me as her "friend who cries at the dolphin show."  Point is, I'm bikini ready, stretch marks and all!! hehe.
