Mars is in my 6th and I've added cardio and weight training to my usual yoga :) I think the new moon in Virgo gave me a bit of a boost too.

I find yoga's good for diet too - after you do it regularly, you instinctively don't want to eat unhealthy foods (too processed or too much of something sweet/fattening) b/c it ruins the feeling you get inside. You are more aware of your body's needs and attending to them properly.

Kashmiri I am walking 6 miles three times a week plus sometimes we take the kids to the playground which is another 2 mile round trip.  I haven't weighed myself since I went to the doctor a few weeks ago but my clothes feel a tiny bit looser.  I've not changed my diet dramatically except that I stopped drinking sodas completely.  I drink water with fresh ginger and some juices.  I've also added some other supplements that seem to be helping with my pain issues.  Vitamin a (from fish liver), ginger capsules, turmeric and some multivitamins.

I'm also making sure I get plenty of sleep.  I still have some pain of course.  I don't expect it to go away but my energy is so much better than it was.  I actually did a good bit of cleaning and laundry last week which I haven't felt like doing in ages.

    Hi Lupa!

When you drink water with fresh ginger, do you boil the water first then drop the ginger in boiling water or do you drop the ginger in cold/room temp water?

When I was younger (in the Philippines), boiling ginger in water is believed to be good for your voice. Singers do this :)

As for me.... 13 lbs WENT AWAY since June 2009!!!! :) I have 7 lbs left until my goal weight!... And I have to start toning up my arms for my maid of honour dress - sleeveless, strapless and showcases my new curves!

    Lunalie, that's great progress!

I don't boil the water.  I just use finely grated ginger and don't worry about the pulpy bits.  It seems to work just fine.

But now my dang trail is flooded and no idea when it will be open again.  :(

That sounds very good Lupa! I will research ginger and it's medicinal properties. When I used to eat rice on a regular basis, I put slices of ginger in the pot and cook the ginger with the rice. Makes the rice taste great and gives it a nice aroma.

I'm sorry about your trail :( It is unfortunate when this happens!

Would the roads be too dangerous to walk around in your area?

Yes the roads are pretty bad.  No sidewalks and stupid drivers.  I'll find someplace to walk though if the trail isn't clear in a couple of days.

Bad roads/bad drivers is always a challenge. I've given up cycling a few times in the last 5 years until recently even when bad drivers constantly clip me and I avoid getting hit by the door. But I am sure you will find something. :)
